Jeez, it’s not complicated. John Elkann released the news on the same day as Ferraris quarterly earnings call. Nothing to do with FOM/Liberty or anyone else just a way to push Ferrari stock which did rise over 12%.
This could be a wise move on Lewis' part. He will be able to compete with what will likely be the best iteration of the Mercedes this year (not likely to reach further development next year given the formula change). He then moves to Ferrari for 2025 and cements himself with the Tifosi. Then in 2026 with the new engine formula, he is installed on one of the two teams that develop the best engines (Mercedes and Ferrari), with Red Bull being on the outside with newbie Ford. And at the same time, he eliminates the option for Max to leave RB for Ferrari.
@@rahulseeruttun5539 your'e quite right. But numbers dont lie, max won both titles on his own last year, in the most successful f1 car ever. The RB20 will have to be a real bag of bolts to change that.
To be honest, no one expected him to win a WC at Merc. His move was seen as a suicide move at the time and you can still find Tweets of 2012, saying he just ended his career and that he would fail.
Seb coming back at Mercedes in a German team a German driver love to see that happen his hero drove for Mercedes when he was at Red Bull. Of course he wanted to win at Ferrari and gutted he didn't but he could be ready to comeback fight for a 5th title in silver arrows. Who knows Alonso came back why not Seb?
would be nice. i was thinkig a few days ago that he has that killer look, something that other drivers don't have. leclerc and ham are struggling with ptsd, sainz, perez, alonso, russell good drivers but no chance honestly. lando too soft, proper stoner in different clothes might say. so piastri might be our only chance to interfere with mv's title winning spree. (scenario available after new regs) all the best !
@@stefandobre226 You said it perfectly. "that killer look". I totally agree, that's been my feeling for bout 6 months now. He has that ruthless look about him. And his ability last season for a "rookie" was insanely good. I reckon he's got atleast a couple of Drivers Championships coming in the next 5/10 years I think.
Maybe it's better not to get behind a bunch of "initiatives". If I was him, I'd focus on driving and performance. Also, I'm glad Ferrari don't get into all that. Ferrari make fast cars. Passionately. That's the only initiative that should concern them. I also don't agree with the statement of "F1 is a platform for (insert agenda here)". F1 should be a sport first, business second and at no point whatsoever should it profess to lecture people on their moral choices or politics. That doesn't mean Lewis can't stand for what he believes is right or important to him. It also doesn't mean his friends and colleagues can't stand with him, just don't use the sport as a bench to preach from. He's his own platform. He doesn't need another.
So turns out Christian Horner was right after all, team Hamilton was definitely looking for a seat elsewhere. There's no way they didn't inquire at the bull shade
Lewis Hamilton is back at it with his surprising decisions. I absolutely love this for him and the sport which has been feeling mundane for a while now. Hamilton and Leclerc as a driver is going to be too hot.
I'm huge Ferrari fan since 1997 but let's be honest, with current Ferrari he will struggle a lot as many great drivers before him, at least he'll get a chance to finish his awesome career driving for one of the greatest teams ever.
Lewis and his managements ability to switch at the perfect moment shouldn’t be forgotten, this is exactly the reaction when he left McLaren, but can he beat charles hmmm very interesting
can he beat Charles??? what a stupid question. a driver of Lewis ability and pedigree is not looking to beat charles but to beat Max and win championships.
For real. I remember those conversations. McLaren have done so much, Can he beat nico, Will the team be excepting of his “antics”… then he got 6 titles with them and 7 team titles with nico & bottas. Not bad too be honest. When him and Charles are comfortable in their cars they can pull out a quick lap. Same with Max. All great drivers imho
i agree on pace Charles is quicker than Russell but is pace the only guarantee of winning a race?? clearly you just started following F1 recently. Lewis has proven to be a far more capable and complete driver than Charles. and this is not me discounting Charles, this is me telling you to go back and watch all of your F1 devoid of your filthy bias and convince yourself who the better driver is@@husseinomar1981
Lewis should yacht off into the sunset, his time has been over for a few years. I'm not sure why Ferrari hired him, unless they needed a fashion designer for the scuderia's new uniform. His focus has been on everything BUT his job for the last few years. If he cannot be bothered to show up at preseason testing to help develop the Mercedes, why does Ferrari think he'll be any different there? Mercedes is paying both Lewis and Mick Schumacher, maybe they should let lewis hang out in the garage and let Mick get some experience. I gotta think the German fans would prefer Mick and the team would prefer not to deal with a spoiled child that is incapable of carrying his own helmet or scooter!
As I’ve said many times during 2023 I think Ferrari have been desperate to get Hamilton to resurrect their fortunes. He’ll probably drive for maybe a season or two but once he has learnt the Ferrari culture he may be in a better position to become their Manager..
He will be the no. 2 driver at Ferrari who will be tasked to get decent points while earning good money (which is why he abandoned Mercedes who’re way smarter than Ferrari).
The better questions is where he has the higher odds. And in the end would you rather try or not try at Ferrari. Seems like he's bored at Merc & needs them motivaton/challenge
An 8th title at a historic team like Ferrari would be the icing on the cake. I think he could probably retire from F1 happy with that. He'd hold the record for most championships and who knows when that record would be broken, Reb Bull won't be dominant forever (I hope).
I am a Mercedes Fan n i will always be Mercedes fan, Drivers come n go. I think everyone is looking at this all wrong. 2026 is a new era for F1, and if Toto and Mercedes seriously wanted LH to be part of their new era of F1, they would offered him a contract that's beyond 2026, not one that's expired at the end of 2025. Also, LH won a Championship with McLaren, Mercedes was a mid tier team, they presented to LH their plan for the turbo hybrid era, LH looked at where McLaren was heading, and where Mercedes wanted to go, he joined Mercedes for a new era in F1, many thought he made a mistake and should remained with the power house McLaren, McLaren was in the abyss and Mercedes won multiple Championships. Fast forward to today, LH has the front seat to Mercedes, he saw how they couldn't dig themselves out of this hole of mediocre, he knows first hand where and what Mercedes have planned for 2026, then Ferrari came and presented their 2026 plan to LH, thus is a repeat of McLaren and Mercedes for LH. Ferrari always has the most powerful engine on the grid, even when doing the down years, LH remember he couldn't keep up with Seb on the Kemmel Straight even with KERS and DRS. With 100% sustainable fuel for 2026, and RB mounting a Ford powerplant, Mercedes have always been down on power, LH think Ferrari will be on the rise for F1 new era of F1 cars.
If there’s anyone who can build a championship winning car, it’s Lewis. Problem is that this will most likely take multiple years, especially with a team like Ferrari. Once the car can challenge for the title, Lewis will already be 40+ and he won’t beat Max or Charles at that age
What? He piggybacked on the car that was buildt with the help of Schumacher just before the regs changed. Even then the drivers build nothing. The designers and mechanics do.

In 2025? No. Max is winning 24 and 25. But everything is up for grabs from 2026 onwards.
it's formula bro
anything can happen
tyre puncture ,dnf, collision,crash
not with the reliability of redbull.@@rahulseeruttun5539
@@rahulseeruttun5539 your'e quite right. But numbers dont lie, max won both titles on his own last year, in the most successful f1 car ever. The RB20 will have to be a real bag of bolts to change that.
Maybe that was a part of his decision making.
@@rahulseeruttun5539 Of course, but unlikely, this is about preparing for 2026.
Seb is gone man. Just let it go.
@@ChuyR. Agreed.
Lewis better win the f1 championship this or next year.
Piastri going to Mercedes.
Mark my words.
would be nice. i was thinkig a few days ago that he has that killer look, something that other drivers don't have. leclerc and ham are struggling with ptsd, sainz, perez, alonso, russell good drivers but no chance honestly. lando too soft, proper stoner in different clothes might say. so piastri might be our only chance to interfere with mv's title winning spree. (scenario available after new regs)
all the best !
The video is a bit long for a simple "no"
A perfect scenario for an 8th title and then retirement...
Class act

Max to Mercedes in 2026 .should be a fantastic transfer. The best car driver and the best car builder.🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Lewis Hamilton is back at it with his surprising decisions. I absolutely love this for him and the sport which has been feeling mundane for a while now. Hamilton and Leclerc as a driver is going to be too hot.
Ofcourse not. But on the other hand is Ferrari wining again!😂
Bring back Vettel to drive in the Mercedes 2025 ❤
Vettel should learn how to drive and finish 2020 Germany GP first.
Shut up, you mug.
OPENS The Door For Vettel to get into Mercedes
Where is the proof?
I'm huge Ferrari fan since 1997 but let's be honest, with current Ferrari he will struggle a lot as many great drivers before him, at least he'll get a chance to finish his awesome career driving for one of the greatest teams ever.
If anyone else went to Ferrari I’d say, why, but Lewis with his 7 championships can do things his way.
its all about the car, for sure lewis is the best driver with most experience you can have in your team
Sorry, did Craig seriously ask Karun if one of the reasons to move to Ferrari was to woke the place up like he did with Merc? 😂
He did.
Lewis more conscious about his dress code, than racing.
@@jkbzz charles is significantly quicker then Russell u muppet
@@jayjonesss agree but when the spot light is off Charles we all know what he did to vettel, that boy is the fastest in F1 on 1 lap pace
i agree on pace Charles is quicker than Russell but is pace the only guarantee of winning a race??
clearly you just started following F1 recently.
O oh, HAM is moving and the whole Sky Sports F1 staff woke up
Sir Hamilton is like Lionel Messi and Djokovic, the goats of their respective sports.
Yes i truly hope so an amazing achievement that Lewis has achieved
Lewis: "adult in the room"? He is a ridiculous role model.
Maybe, let’s hope the rules are not changed at the last minute to prevent it this time!
Yes if Max retires ! 😂
Max did say he doesn't want to break the record. Probably be satisfied with five tbh
Sooo funny 🤣
He always seeks the fastest car/team because he is a boring defensive driver that whines if he can’t start a race in the front.
Why is this guy Ted still on tv? This guy is crazy and anything but objective. Can't take that clown seriously can we 😂
Drive to survive got something interesting out of a boring season 😂
Ok bott
As I’ve said many times during 2023 I think Ferrari have been desperate to get Hamilton to resurrect their fortunes. He’ll probably drive for maybe a season or two but once he has learnt the Ferrari culture he may be in a better position to become their Manager..
There is a big elephant in the room with all of the hope/cope and it's name is Max.
I don't care about Lewis Hamilton moving to Ferrari I'd have been much more excited about an 11th team + 2 new drivers joining the grid.
He will be the no. 2 driver at Ferrari who will be tasked to get decent points while earning good money (which is why he abandoned Mercedes who’re way smarter than Ferrari).
Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha
You are a clown 🤡
Nope.....Charles will crush him into retirement
Long story short, no.
The better questions is where he has the higher odds. And in the end would you rather try or not try at Ferrari. Seems like he's bored at Merc & needs them motivaton/challenge
Plot twist, it’s not official and doesn’t happen 😵💫🤣
An 8th title at a historic team like Ferrari would be the icing on the cake. I think he could probably retire from F1 happy with that. He'd hold the record for most championships and who knows when that record would be broken, Reb Bull won't be dominant forever (I hope).
It's in Sir. Lewis Hamilton's nature to test all possible boundaries.
I am a Mercedes Fan n i will always be Mercedes fan, Drivers come n go. Lewis, i just wish u luck, its been an honour to watch u win championship after championship with the Silver Arrows n u will always remain in our memories. U never gave up especially when things weren't good especially in the last 2,3 seasons, .U smiled even though our Car was underperforming but u had this 'LETS KEEP ON PUSHING TOTO' n that made us believe that we gona get there. I was shocked koz that what happens especially when u loosing one of yo best players to a rival team but we y'all know Players/ drivers come n go. LEWIS, go get whatever u wana get, ITS HAMMER TIME BABY....., GOD bless u n whatever u put yo hands on.
What's the deal the formal standing around like that? It makes me feel uncomfortable.
The question was never, "Will the car be good?" but "Will their terrible strategy screw him over?"...
What a way to finish the video. That hit deep!
If my theory is right he’s seen something in Ferraris f1 development somewhere where they got a advantage next year
It’s not about the championships or the wins. It’s about seeing Sir Lewis in a red Ferrari. I can die happy when that happens.
Ask the drivers? its all about the wins and championship, drivers come and go, I see you just jump teams, RIP MERC 🤣🤣
hope we will hear another bombshell news mid 2024 season about Vettel returning to F1 with Mercedes
Well that last sentence says it all
If there’s anyone who can build a championship winning car, it’s Lewis.
Looking forward to see the first encounter between LEC & HAM on track this season, I guess LEC will give just (not)enough space ... and what if SAI meets HAM ... firework and bodywork 😂 VER in the frontrow to watch the show 🤩
Obviously, Merc have failed to find the negative 1.3 minium to Red Bull
Going through the comments a lot of people seems to have forgotten who Lewis Hamilton is. Just because you all expect your life and passions to be over at the age of 39-40 does not mean LH has the same mindset as you commoners. He is still in top physical shape with years of experience, he will be fine, very confident he will get is 8th (lets be real 9th) title before he retires. When he does, you lot will be here, overweight, half your hair gone, screaming your frustrations on to the internet.
