Someone who has made one should explain how to shape and position the stopper near the blow-hole. In the vid you never even see it, you have to speculate how to do it. There is probably a certain distance to stay away from the blow-hole... what if you have an adjustable sleeve so it might tune a bit ?
What a beautiful flute! Iv been practicing making tin whistles with pvc pipe and have a length of aluminium which I plan to make a D whistle using etching for decoration.
The flute is very well made. I will say the Embouchure hole is pretty small compared to what I am use to. It makes it a challenge to play at times. Aside from that, it is a very nice flute. I was very pleased with the craftsmanship and attention to detail that was placed into its creation. I have really enjoyed playing it. The sound is spot on compared to the concert tuned Arabian flutes I have bought in the past. All and all it is a very good quality flute.
Oscha Wolff I am pleased that you enjoy the flute! I understand about the embouchure. Sometimes when I switch between the smaller embouchure and a traditional size it take me a moment to adjust. I have tried to make this with the larger embouchure, but due to the diameter it cuts down on the range of the flute. Not exactly sure why, but I would guess physics somehow. Do you have some arabian whistle (not flute) for sale? Could you build one? I've seen that nice Erik's arabian flute but I think that is a little expensive for my pocket. I am not affiliated with this site, but it is one of many that can be used to do the calculations necessary for determining the hole size and diameter based on the wall width and inside diameter of your material.
