  • Hello my friends,
This painting is all about creating beautiful dense fog rolling through a mountain of evergreens. It may look complicated, but trust me, you can do it. I have added a bit of commentary and tips on how you can achieve this landscape in the easiest form I can think of. Let me know what you think and what you'd like to see next.
    Take care,
    Jackie

This is beautiful. The depth is outstanding.
Im a complete novice in watercolour. Im used to doing portraits in graphite. My first watercolour looks like a 5 year old did it. I need to try your technique!

Your painting is so beautiful and it's seems like easy process when you do it. When I put paint to paper it looks so ugly

Thank you so much! It's been a lot of fun to explore and develop a way of painting that speaks to me. Darker and moodier the better haha

I was driving this morning and I live near a lot of country roads. I was driving on this road and there's a lot of trees but some were slightly obscured by the mist which I thought looked interesting.

Your work is just beautiful. I just found you and subscribed. I am just getting back into art after a twenty year hiatus, and these scenes have become my favorite to paint. Just getting lost in the fog.

That's wonderful to hear. I've had a lot of people mention that they've taken a break and are back at it. I get that. I'm glad you're enjoying the misty landscapes. There's something magical about them.

Do you dry the paper between layers?

I think I’m hopeless with watercolor 😅 no matter how many times I try, it just looks like a mess.

I hear you on that. Having a strong foundation of paint to water ratio can be tricky, but with time and the more painting you do, you’ll get better. I also recommend checking out Jenna Rainey’s video on tea to butter when it comes to understanding watercolor.
