- In this video, I show in detail how to remove a front grille and a bumper from a Chevy Express van. Plus I offer tips and recommendations. This fix is also applicable to GMC Savan vans.
Great job Terence! your work unveil a lot of hidden parts and issues, and run over a bunch of doubts that mechanics dont want to take care and CAN be solved in the driveway!
Thank you so much!
You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
man this video saved my life. just bought a 2017 uhaul trade in savana, it had some minor drivers side front end damage, which had been fixed with a new bumper assm. whoever put it on shouldnt have, it is an after market part, but that wasnt the problem. both supports were left bent down a little, so both sides looked like your drivers side did. i thought I was gonna have to buy a new bumper kit from gm to get it to fit, until I saw this. 5 minutes and a floor jack , and done....thanks Terrance , your the man...
You're very welcome, Brian. I am glad my video helped you.
Very well shown and explained Terence, thank you!
You're very welcome John. Thank you for watching.
Great video Terence. Thank you for showing me all the hidden plastic clip locations.

You're very welcome Fredrick. Thanks for watching!
Good job man, you explained everything, I needed to adjust my Chevy Express bumper.
I didn’t even realize my sagging on the rear of my bumper, until I had all my parts back on. Now I will do it right. You must work in a body shop. Great video man.
Thank you Timothy and thanks for watching.
Hi Terence
Great Job! Thanks for making the effort to share the very helpful video.
Just yesterday I was under my 2009 Savana Van Bumper trying to Install Rigid Fog Lights into the Bumper Frame but the heavy steel bracket behind the Bumper prevented me from Installing them where I would like to.
Now after seeing you video, hopefully, I will be able to Remove the Bumper & Drill & Cut into the metal Bumper supports to Install my Fog Lights as envisioned.
Thanking you from Toronto, Canada.
I love watching your videos. You show how it REALLY goes, all the shyt that goes wrong, all the snafus, just like watching me do repairs. Nothing goes as planned!
Thank you man that was very helpful!
You're very welcome. Thank you for watching.
Hey - thanks to you, I was able to replace the rusted through bumper on my 2006 Express with new aftermarket parts. Great instructions. Thanks.
You're very welcome, Dennis. Thanks for watching!
Great Video, I hit my friend fire truck and needed a little help with fixing it and this is most of the reference I need
just got into a small accident with the company van at low speed...... :) your vid just got me fixing that shit real quick real cheap!! they are almost giving thoses vans parts!
Sorry to hear about your accident. I hope everyone was okay. I am glad my video helped you with the fix. Thanks for watching!
The front marker lights should be payed out from the outer corner edge where the spring clip portion of the housing is instead of the front part towards the center of the grille
Very helpful video, thanks!
One, Two, Three, Four, Clap Your Hands!
Terence thanks. I'll be changing my 2008 Express bumper today.
Couple years ago I was "drifting" (not intentionally), lost control and was stop by divider. I had to use jock between front tire and bumper to move the bumper out of the tire. Then year later I hit the deer. Stupid poor think run away. I had to use jack again.
You're very welcome. I hope you got it fixed. Thanks for watching!
excellent video can I crawl under van and remove those 2 middle bolts w/ grill still on? thanks
You should be able to Steve. Thanks for watching.
Actually, you remove the turn signals by pushing the screw driver behind the OUTSIDE edge of the lights and pushing on the U-shaped spring tab while prying outward.
Hi AL, you are absolutely correct! Thanks for sharing that info.
I've had to do that more times than I wanted. :D
Came to post and tell you the same, u seemed pretty knowledgeable and you made that silly mistake.
This was very helpful, thank you sir!
You're very welcome. Thanks for watching!
Great thorough video. I like the part with the jack. How long did this job take? Thank you 👍
Hi, it didn't take long at all. Maybe two hour for me only because I was filming. Thank you SO much for watching.
@@TerenceDIY I live in Chicago and dented the front left of a gmc 300 2021 Uhaul 10 foot box truck. Do you have time to swap out the bumper and cover and if so how much labor and or labor and materials. I can get materials if that is easier. It will need to be a new bumper. I can drive the truck to you. Let me know. I can assist or not up to you. Thank you.
@@nevillewhite3451 , where in Chicago do you live (west, south, north, east)? I purchased a house in Indiana that I am working on at the moment but I may can help. Is it a rental or is it something you own?
@@nevillewhite3451 you will need these parts.

You're very welcome, Dexter. Good luck with your job. Thanks for watching!
You did a great job!! Very helpful video for sure. Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for the video! Do you know if the grill absolutely needs to be removed to remove the bumper or can all the bolts be reached without removing the grill? Thanks
Hi Charles, I am not sure if the grill needs to be removed or not. Even if it does, it should be very simple. Thanks for watching!
nice video good. good tip on using the jack to align the bumpers sides thanks.
Great Video Terrance, Awesome way to save money
✌️✌️👍👍
Great job and great video, Terrance.
except for the fact you took the turn signals out backwards good tutorial
Thank you for your video. Its helped me out tremendously
Hi David Fontenot Sr., I am glad my video could be of help to you. Thanks for watching!
for your broken tabs, you can clean everything and use fiberglass gel to glue them back on.
instead of motor flush, ATF in the oil, run it for about 15 miles then change the oil
How long did it take the bumper to dry, after you spray painted it?
Thanks for giving your time , it helped a lot .
Did you have to do anything to the bumper to make the paint adhere, and how is it holding up? I've been thinking about spraying Krylon textured truck bed paint on my poor hood and may do the same to the bumpers.
Hi James, I didn't have to do anything to the bumper for the paint to adhere and it still looks great after two years!
Good video.
good video brother a question what kind of spray did you use to paint bumper
Sorry for the late response Jose. I used some black VHT paint. It's great for applications like this. Thanks for watching!
Hey brother I have a small dent on my number for my express and one of the bars is bent like it was in your video. Where do you stay to see if you can help me fix it ?
Hi Cruz, I live just south of Chicago now.
Damn I live in Dallas thanks tho
Well done brother👍 thanks for tips
Excellent video. Very helpful.
Thanks for watching, Debra.
Worked out perfect.
2010 Express Van.
Great video, thanks Terence
May as well replace blinker bulbs while you have them out. Then again you'd want to change the back ones at same time so may not be worth ti depending on how much time you have.
I did Andrew! Lol Thanks for watching!
Thank you brotha, I got it done!
thanks for doing this
Good stuff. Thanks for sharing.
You're very welcome, Dan. Thanks for watching!
Great video it helps a lot
Thank you, Jesus.
Wow. You helped me a ton!
No problem. I am glad my video helped. Thanks for watching!
Excellent video! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Can I put a 2003 front end on my 2000 chevy Express van ???
I am sorry for the late reply. I don't think it will fit because the fenders are different.
How much is a replacement bumper worth ?
Hi Rory, sorry for the late response. I am in the midst of a privacy fence build that I am filming so I have been very busy. The price can vary. You can pick one up at the junkyard for less than $100. I found my parts on Craigslist for much cheaper. I am talking a used one buy the way. Thanks for watching!
Does this applies to the 2015 savana ?
Hi Garrett, I am almost positive it applies. The 2020 Savana's also uses this same body style with minimal differences. Chevy has been using this set up since 96. Thanks for watching!
Music is cool

We are need...10 mm
15mm..
&21mm. ..screw driver
But 15 mm you must use side normal screw driver ...and side is circle ..
And...19mm
This video is totally misleading
You pressed on the wrong tabs at first the side one releases the whole thing....I'm not watching anymore of this video...it started wrong
Thanks for the video. It helped me a lot.
