      Go to Gringo Tuesdays to meet other foreigners and locals that want to practice English. Hope that you enjoy Bogota! This is my city and although chaotic there’s so much to see and do.

    your videos are SO GREAT. an easy subscription from me! I especially love how you review and break down each city, you are super thorough, unique detailed, and organized! My go-to Colombia channel. I'm sure if you did one of your city reviews/breakdowns of Bogota it would easily be the best Bogota video out there! It's such a popular city and when I google Bogota reviews/overviews nothing comes close to what you offer!

    Nice Video! Monserrate looks amazing. I will be there for half a year, how did you feel about the safety there? Would you say its comparable to the other mayor latinamerican cities like Mexico City, Quito etc.? Thanks and Best wishes from Germany

    • @lifetheorycouple
      @lifetheorycouple  2 года назад +4

      Monserrate is super safe in the morning. There is security and all types of people going up from tourists and athletes... People have their phones out and take tons of pictures. - Compared to Mexico City or Quito I cannot say because I haven't spent much time there... Monserrate is just a touristy spot in Bogota... And Bogota overall can be very unsafe. If not in a touristy area I'd keep the phone put away or show no appearances of wealth. - Like any major city, there are spots that are super safe, some in the middle, and others you want to avoid altogether.

    • @generator3013
      @generator3013 2 года назад +3

      Local here. It REALLY depends on the zone. Places like Usaquén or Chapinero are in general quite safe, but others like Bosa or Ciudad Bolivar are definitely a no go. Just watch out for where you go, and the time, as always, late is more dangerous. And no matter the place, be very aware of your surroundings, trust no one, someone might ask you something and when close throw you scopolamine or some sh!t. Also pickpocketing is very common on public transport.
      Always remember, "No de papaya" which basically means "Don't give the other even the slightest chance"
      Have fun tho!

    Nice video. Did you feel safe in Bogota?

    • @lifetheorycouple
      @lifetheorycouple  Год назад +3

      We do!
      Although we live or life’s very differently from how we lived in the States, we feel safe.
      We have implemented different habits that have allowed us to feel safer. For example, we don’t use our phones on the street unless it’s absolutely necessary.
      We never get a taxi from the street, we are always using apps to request our rides (Uber, DiDi, Cabify, InDriver).
      And we don’t walk the city late at night or walk on isolated streets.

      Hornitos City U! - It’s a quick 10 min walk from the bottom of Monserrat after getting off the cable cart. >>> maps.app.goo.gl/iyVQCwGT8wJoVXWx7?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy --- Al Agua Patos you will need to Uber to. maps.app.goo.gl/7srmyVZZkyJi74DXA?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy -- Rabbit French Bakery is a good choice too, not features in this video but also walking distance from Monserrate. maps.app.goo.gl/fD8YDzCzJJwkviwL6?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy

      @lifetheorycouple Does Maria corner staff speak English at the street market location? I know you went there foe four days to lunch
      So I take it it's safe?

    • @lifetheorycouple
      @lifetheorycouple  2 месяца назад +1

      They don’t speak English, but they have a menu in both Spanish and English.
      It is safe! We’re picky about where we eat food and the market it’s safe. Everything is thoroughly cooked. Our advice is that you get there early, around noon, to avoid crowds. If you go on the weekend, get there at 11:30 am. It’s a very popular spot for locals.
