- As I was putting together my Dark Uprising terrain and seeing how they interacted with the Zone Mortalis Tiles I realized a few things other people may be interested in learning about prior to making the purchse.
this was EXACTLY the kind of video I was after. you answered every question I had about the tiles vs. walls and pillars, and i love your commentary. ❤

Nice, ur video is what I needed to dicide, to not buy them for my hive tower project. Thx a lot. Btw it is especially important to say, that the price has been raised from around forty to more than fifty euros.
This video was more helpful than literally all the other fancy unboxings by the big channels.
Can you tell us how many of the short and long walls come in the Dark Uprising box?
Good call. I'm going to hopefully put the rest of the set together today and will make a video specifically for Dark Uprising. But if you want the short answer. There are 12 Cubes (let's call the junction walls) 8 Single Straight Walls and 2 Double Straight Walls (double straight being twice as long as a single straight).Thanks for dropping in and watching, commenting and showing interest. @@cadiastands8 I think they'll definitely be around for awhile and the beauty of that is, they'll come down in price and demand because something newer and cooler will always be on the horizon. As for getting the rest of the terrain together today, I FAILED. I ended up getting called into work so I'll have to get the set built hopefully this coming week but I promise you, I'll make a vid.
@@cadiastands8 I've got Dark Uprising and still putting all the terrain together. I have to say regarding the price, for what you get and the incredible detail that GW is famous for, if you get mega content for the price then it's worth it and for me I'd say it's excellent.

Truth be told, your kind words are the reason I decided to make this particular vid. I've been crazy busy (as I always am) and when GW mentioned the Old World returning it inspired me to make a video that morning. Last night while I was geeking out over how cool this Necromunda stuff is I had a similar itch but hesitated making a video because of the time it takes to make/upload. I mean lets be honest, that's time I could be spending making more Zone Mortalis walls right??? Lol. Anyhow, I then thought of your comment and to a lesser extent others and said "you know what, fuck it! I'm making another video for Michael and my other awesome peeps on RUclips! *True story* And thus, this beautiful baby was born! Lol. I'm glad you're digging my stuff. If you are looking for more versatility, take a look at TTCombat's "Iron Labyrinth" sets in their "Industrial Hive" line for Zone Mortalis-type layouts, especially the "Ultima Complex" and the "Death Quadrant Complex". Exactly the same walls and columns, plus more variety, for 1/5 of the price. The rest of the Industrial Hive line, especially the "Sector 1 Beta Complex", the "Sector 3" "Gamma Complex" and "Delta Complex", and the "Sector 4" buildings are fantastic for Necromunda. I also use them for Heresy games. The "Sector 3 Omega Complex Bundle" (my favorite, I have 2 sets) and the "Death Quadrant Sigma Complex Bundle" are still available from online retailers, but not on the TTCombat website.

The support is much appreciated brotha'. I'm all over the place with this hobby and I try and make videos that are usefull to people. Most of the time I feel like I ramble on too long but once I click record I just say "fuck it. It's gonna be what it's gonna be!" Lol. I'm glad you dug the vid. Ijust finished most of the terrain from the core game last night and have some thoughts and made some discoveries that I want to share. Hopefully I'll get home at a reasonable time tonight to make that video so keep your eyes peeled. My wife got the full box set and tiles for my birthday this year. We’re in Japan now and it’s sitting in our mailroom back home. And I’m so stoked to use then for killteam with my buddies.

I'm torn about buying the new Necromunda box (the fence is pretty sharp for sitting on). I have the Underhive set and a UK-made MDF wall set (Tyr Terrain) which is very plain and I want to customise with surface pipes, cables, skulls and gore (and other detail). I could just get the walkways and stairs sprues off ebay (pricey!) or wait for the terrain pieces to become available in a box and adapt them to my MDF stuff which is enough to fill the 9 card boards in underhive (26 columns and loads of single and double walls). I do want the riot-shielded Enforcers and the Corpse Grinders though and I can imagine that if I bought them separately (and the terrain I need) I will be over £100 when I can get Dark Uprising delivered for £140 with the walls too which I can also use in tandem with my mechanicus terrain I now know. Hmmm, new box smell..... These vids have been bloody useful (but might cost me !). Thanks from good old England.

Use green stuff to fix the support if you cut it and then you can also paint it so it can be clean looking.
Something to think about is that for about the price of one box of these floor tiles(which only cover a 2’x2’ area) you can buy a 6’x4’ game mat and then you can set the walls and such up in a more free form Way.
That’s my plan and I’ll magnetize all the walls and columns so that they stay together and don’t slide around during play.

I've looked everywhere for a video showing how these connect to the board and THANKYOU. I love the way that the sections construct to start with when building them (using the tops to help glue them perfectly and so easily and then to reverse them so we can stack another on top for higher levels, you never showed this so I’m wondering if you are aware that for each identical section (hopefully as @Joseph Tewksbury mentioned not to glue the tops in like the build sheet showed), if you remove the roofs/tops and turn them upside down and then slot them back in to position, you will find that another identical section will slot on the upside down roof and be held snuggly in place. Now you clearly show the thickness of the tiles, explain why they can't be cut and the other reason for them teeth shapes below. This really is a great video and your volume never altered once so thanks millions for explaining why I'm now going to purchase them.
The quality to detail on all of Dark Uprising is excellent so as for price for this brilliant hobby... I'm really happy for the hundreds of hours of pleasure gaming that I'll get from both Dark Uprising as well as the tile set, after all I don't smoke or drink and how much will someone generally spend in one night supping bear. So yer for me, I think value for money... we actually have a reasonably fairly priced hobby compared to thousands of hobbies out there that some people are extremely passionate about.. Thanks again for a great video.
I greatly appreciate the wonderful reply. I got a little excited when I opened the kit and put those two pieces together without looking at the instructions. LOL, Lesson learned. Regardless of how many years you have in the hobby.... ALWAYS LOOK before gluing. :) It's ok though. In a "stacking world" You'll always have a TOP Piece so I guess I satisfied that quota with these two "fixed pieces". ;) I'm actually going to do some more Zone Mortalis videos soon because I want to show some cool things I discovered with other NON-Zone Mortalis kits that GW has made for the game. @@deadgamer1918 I never have smoked or drank but getting heart failure from 66 hours of continuous chemo has definitely not let me start and learning, building, painting and playing these brilliant games (Blackstone Fortress, Warcry, Necromunda as well as old time necromunda, Talisman and Advanced Heroquest) really helps to keep my mind sane.
Also a really big bonus is that I've played all my games solo for 25 years or more as my children have never been interested, but yesterday and today my son has joined me on the Warcry scene and tonight he didn't want to stop. Not only that but as I'm still building my terrain for Dark Uprise, he's asking when it will be finished. Kirk isn't it great that now he's 33 and I'm 58, we can start sharing some real quality time together... brilliant :-)
One last thought I'de like to share with you, if ever you do glue plastics together and need to separate them, use a hair drier and with patience and after about 5 minutes, with a bit of prising they will come apart. i tried this a few times as GW's instructions for Warcry wasn't to clear and with a bit of mould line scraping technique, I was really happy with the end results. Not what you want but it's better than approaching the bin :-)

You can invert the top inserts on the three core pieces so that they can be stacked with out needing the platform tiles

If you were to cut them, you would probably want to use something like the Tamiya Plastic scriber. Alot easy to cut into a plastic sheet with that. Never seen one used for something like that, but kinda got a feeling it would work better then just a normal knife blade.
Good call, I've never heard of that tool but I'll definitely look into it. I usually use a box cutter with a fresh blade and a metal ruler to do big cuts like that. GW is currently out of stock on the tiles and the ones I do have will be dedicated to the purpose they were originally intended for. That being said though, I'm still curious about this Tamiya tool you mentioned and will definitely be looking into it. Thanks for the tip and welcome to my "interesting channel". :)
The design placement and limits replicates the Zone Mortalis resin kit from Forge World and the cardboard tiles from 2017 Underhive. You can build the same board setups, i.e. maps, as the ones for the last decade.
Apparently, an SM setup with the DU pieces is more appropriate on a mat?

Right on. I didn't know anything about the Forgeworld Zone set. It was not in a price range I felt justified in purchasing so I never really looked into it. Based on what you said though, it's good to hear the plastic kit is compatible with the resin one. I'm glad GW made the kit usable with the resin stuff so all those people that DID spend that money can still simply add to their existing collection at a discount from what they spent on the resin stuff. It's kinda like buying stock when its high, and buying MORE when it's low. It just makes your average purchase price of that stock cheaper. :)I'm glad I captured something you were uninformed about, that's why I do these vids. I try and cover ALL THINGS when doing these vids but my viewers always point out stuff in the comments that I overlook. Like the question about the # of walls in the set of Dark Uprising or a comparison of the plastic tiles to the Underhive cardboard ones. I work a lot and have yet had the free time to get my garage rebuilt so in the meantime my house is full of boxes. Yeah, life sometimes deals you a shitty hand. You just gotta play that hand as best you can and keep playin' the game in hopes you'll come out ahead."

Well sir, YES and NO. 1 Square foot or 1 Necromunda Tile costs $16.25 usd or 10 GBP. Considering the average cost to own property in my home town of San Jose (Silicon Valley, AKA: Tech Mecha of the world) is $620 per square foot of 479.49 GBP. If you look at it that way, IT'S A HELL OF A DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for dropping in Andy, You're kinda my idol in the RUclips world. It's pretty rad when your idol drops a comment on your vid. :) Of course Rem is a close second but shhhhh, don't tell him. ;)

After going through the insurance process I was able to recoup a fraction of that loss and the stuff behind me is some of those things. Not when I put those 1st three together. LOL. I got too excited when I started putting the set together and I just rushed right in to making a video. Who looks at instructions these days anyhow???? Lol. I did catch it after I made the video though. I'm considering making another video with the whole set to talk about some cool things I've discovered while putting the set together.
