This is because there are different PadFones :) This is the Infinity and there was also the PadFone 2. There are plenty of GS4 and HTC One Videos online. We will have a new GS4 video as soon as we can get the Octacore version
Here in 2021, we still don't see any new iteration of this astonishing product. It's crazy to see just how ahead of the time ASUS used to be. I definitely hope that any lapdock makers can take this idea and turn it as a universal product. Smartphones of today are so powerful that it can easily be used as a portable pocket computer.
One of the best review if seen last time. Very much aspects have been shown (even benchmarks!). Additionally a different perspective man/woman can show sometimes similarities/differences on some devices. Thumbs up from Poland!
could you compare it too the xperia z a detailed compare? asi can't decide which one i want the z is hands down the best looking phone the padfone infinity is close too the xperia z but i like the xperia z alot more so the choice is extremely hard i had the xperia z before but i returned it due to a scratch my complaint was that the onscreen buttons were in the way while gaming other then that i absolutely loved the xperia z but i am planning to get the infinity now but it's so hard
Of course it works on the tablet. They were just saying if you run youtube on the phone and connect it to the tablet station it won't continue running youtube. So you have to relaunch youtube on your tab.
Great to see you debating, and have different views and same similarities. It is way too often that critics should have some resistance or cooperation with someone else in the same review.
Great video review, liked the new format of reviews with all the pro's and cons discussed. Personally it's the price point of the phone that's a killer and like yourselves personally I have no use for a 10" tablet normally, but I can see this as an ideal companion for trips away from home. In the end for me it's the price that counts and in the UK where I can get a N4 and a N7 (3G) for £518 which is only just more than the (conversion rate) £513 for the PadFone Infinity handset.
I absolutely love this phone. Best phone I have ever owned. Sound quality is great, video and pictures are crystal clear, amazing color. Long lasting battery is always a plus!. Got this the day after release and have yet to be disappointed! Love the way you can utilize it both as a phone and a tablet and still use it in "Tablet Mode" to do calls and everything else. I hope that the newer versions for Asus Padfones will be compatible with the Tablet Dock though if this trend keeps going.
Not 100% clear if RUclips doesn't work at all on the Pad or just when you insert the smartphone it crashes. If you only have to restart or just start it after you insert the smartphone I wouldn't have a issue with that. Is this what you do or RUclips doesn't work at all on the Pad? Also if RUclips doesn't work on the Pad, I wonder if Netflix will work. Do You know?
I have ran into a few issues with tablet mode, but that is usually when I put the phone in the tablet that it doesn't recognize the phones been inserted. I usually just remove the device from the tablet then put it back in, usually kicks it back into gear. Never ran into issues with RUclips so far, though I have experienced flickering of the screen as of late. May possibly be due to outdated software on the phone.
Stephen Fryer The issue is that Asus is being very slow for any up to date software for Gen 1 I believe, haven't bothered looking into Gen 2 due to myself already having spent quite a bit of $ on this phone. Just laziness, or possible lack of pro-activeness to keeping their phones up to date, but that is my thought on it.
I bought one on a late Tuesday they were locking the doors while I was signing the paper. I owned the Galaxy Note S2 but wanted the ability of a large cell.. Anyway, I left the ATT that night, went home to setup the new Padphone, and within the first 5 minutes I decided to return it. The next morning when ATT opened I was at the door and returned the padphone and bought a Galaxy Note 3. There is a ton of features on the Note that I use daily, and the padphone was no way close to having any of the features I needed and use.
Good review! A camera stabilizer could help with the filming. There is also a little too much "Mobile Geek" branding on the video. A little too much for a review when you're being advertised ti constantly. All in all. A great video. Would like to see a comparison within the review such as display quality and more on built-in software features.
Nice idea and everything but one problem...Android apps are starting to get optimised for tablets... If you buy the padfone...you would be downloading the phone version of all your apps...only upscaled to the 10 inch and that kinda sucks...having said that there aren't many tablet optimised apps yet...
Nice review, quite unique in style, which I like a lot. The content is almost perfect, perhaps lacking some size comparison (as you have the HTC One right there), and a short opinion about the camera, perhaps with samples (I did see the link, but one could argue it should be part of the review). Speaker sound, call quality would also be nice to know more of. As to the form, I would just wish there was more ligt/better video quality. Other than that, great job, thanks.
Awesome review, looks like the micro-USB is a normal one so the dilemma of a loose connector is no more (I am a Padfone 2 user) .. seriously, what is the game that was played in the beginning of the video?
Hey guys. Great review - gives me some food for thought, I may end up buying one. I'm still after a camera review on the device - the link at 7:00 didn't seem to work. Will this be added in upcoming days?
I think you should had clarified that you can use the youtube app on the tablet, but you will simply need to re-open it after inserting the phone. Now it sounds like you are saying that the youtube app doesn't work on the pad when it is in fact the seamless insertion that doesn't work.
Well I don't see really how, I have the first padfone and I'm now thinking of getting a new phone. One of the biggest advantages it had was the the SD card that they let go and the keyboard which you can get for most tablets. As the price is now so high and they cut off some great features of the older models I don't really see a bright future for the Infinity. I'm now actually thinking of getting a tablet and the HTC one, despite the phones stupid beats shitty audio.
I love watching your vids but how many vids do we need on the padfone? No US carrier offers this phone in 2011, 2012 and I seriously doubt this version will be sold in the US. What about your review of the SGS4 or HTC One? I counted 19 vids on Asus Padfone dating back the February 2013. Please, no mas.
I received some insider news from Asus that they will be cumming out with a padfone infinity which will run on both Android and windows 8. They should be debuting that device in August 2013.
I love the Padfone idea, but it just seems pointless having to carry around a large 5" phone when half the time I'd be using it as a tablet anyway. If they had a 3.5-4.2" phone and 7-8" tablet version with the same aluminium body and same specs (apart from the screen resolutions adjusted for the size difference of course), I would definitely be buying it; regardless of the price difference it has with other flagships.
You stated that the phone and the tablet together would be roughly $975 USD. Can I get it imported for around that price? or would it be a bit more expensive? Also, Can I use Ting's service with this phone? I've googled 2G/3G Radio Frequencies in comparability to the PadFone Infinity's Radio Frequencies and my only solution is to go with T-Mobile. Is this correct?
Sorry, and also, where can I purchase the PF:I if I were to import it to the US? Can you recommend any websites/companies for me? I would really appreciate it! I'm already falling in love with this phone and I want it ASAP. Sorry for all the questions!!! I hope you can help! Thank you Sascha!
this phone is dope as fuck, the best phone i've ever used. The batt lasts from 7am to 9pm with additional 40% left with medium usage. The batt life amazes me so much as my old htc couldnt even last more than 8hrs.. The vanilla android, the camera, the screen, everything is amazing. Heating problems can be a little issue, just beware of using the phone with the tablet while charging and you are all good.
Is there any way to turn off auto charging? i mean, you have to connect the fone to the pad to use the pad, and as soon as they are connected, the pad charge the fone. And charging while the fone hasn't reach low battery isn't good for its battery.
wat about heating up... nexus 4 does heat up and u can feel it on the backside of the phone.. wat about the padfone infinity especially its has the aluminium body the heat should be very much noticeable ... have you felt any especially during ur gaming or browsing or testing.... please reply...
Dose that mean this device will not work inn the USA at all, I mean for just the 4G without the LTE ,,, if you know what I mean, and to be specific if this device would work with T-mobile in the USA
Where can I buy one of these? Or any asus product? I can't find a credible source anywhere online and the asus website is no help at all. Anyone have any ideas?
Is it that much noticeable.... or similar to note 2... planning of shifting from note 2 to padfone infinity. .. so would appreciate if you clarify this.. hate when phone heats up as the climate in dubai at times is 50 deg and if phone also heats up.. automatically we people also heat up... please reply.. is it at all noticeable. ...
Minipcpro So if i live in US and using Net10 provider with 3g internet asus is not going to work ??? And second in one of the videos you sad that asus padfone infinity is pre-production phone do you know when they gonna realist the production phone ??
I'm deciding whether I should get this or the htc butterfly s, it is really really a hard choice, I really love padfone infinity's design, simplicity, aluminum body, the camera, display etc, it is like the perfect phone for me except for the battery life, its only 2400mAh, which I think is not enough to sustain through a long day. HTC butterfly on the other hand offers a 3200mAh battery which totally beats any phone on the market, but the phone is PLASTIC ugh so.. looks or battery?
thanks for your feedback and yes, we should make sure to do a little "soundcheck" in the future
This is because there are different PadFones :) This is the Infinity and there was also the PadFone 2. There are plenty of GS4 and HTC One Videos online. We will have a new GS4 video as soon as we can get the Octacore version
thank you so much for your feedback. We are trying to do more videos like this

thank you so much for your feedback Michal. I actually was at Krakow for the MMConf event just some 2 weeks ago. Love Poland and you guys rock!
Die bis jetzt unterhaltsamste Art ein Review zu gestalten. Gerne mehr davon, in der selben Besetzung.
Awesome review, loved the dual discussion at the end :)
If you are about the features it has to be the S4. If you are looking for a beautiful design I would go for the One, the Z or the PadFone.
this is still sporting the S4 Pro. With the 600 in the Infinity we didn't experienced it so far
as I said in a couple of other comments, we can't do a camera review because this isn't a retail version
it has some 2 additional holes on each side for the docking station
It's coming, we had a pre production unit, we have to wait until we've got a final product for that one
One of the best review if seen last time. Very much aspects have been shown (even benchmarks!). Additionally a different perspective man/woman can show sometimes similarities/differences on some devices. Thumbs up from Poland!

unfortunately I can only recommend Ebay or Amazon right now. I am not aware of any US-Reseller at the moment but we will look into this
THIS is the most thorough, comprehensive review I've ever seen. Well done. :)
nope, sorry mate. The Exynos 5 is the non LTE version sold in Asia. The International is the Snapdragon 600
Sasha and Nicoles "Padfone 2 Review" was made very great and it is a really very good information for new beginners, like me! Thank you!
Love the new style reviews. Keep up the great work guys.
wow! its been a long time since i last watch your review video (old version). I like this new concept. Alot better. Well done!
Nice review guys. You tipped me towards the Asus. It´ll be in stock 20.june for approx 6190 NKR, that´s 1063 USD in todays exchange.
we will provide it as soon as possible
The Mobile Geeks logos were mainly supposed to serve as a seperator between the review segments.
Of course it works on the tablet. They were just saying if you run youtube on the phone and connect it to the tablet station it won't continue running youtube. So you have to relaunch youtube on your tab.

You got yourself a new subscriber. Great review! Professionally filmed and entertaining! Keep up the good work :D

All in all. A great video. Would like to see a comparison within the review such as display quality and more on built-in software features.
this was a great review indeed. just a few comments on call quality and camera performance would make it even better..
This is one of the best smartphones on the market and it would sell like hot cakes
I can't wait till it comes out in the UK! I'm sooo buying it!

you can but when you put your phone into the tablet it doesn't "transfer", which means it return to home screen
i wonder what happens when you put another MHL enabled phone on the tablet, i would buy a tablet station for my current phone in a heartbeat
What game was he playing on 6:14 ?
One thing I missed if it was mentioned. Can you use the Phone well it's in the Tablet?
In nearly every country in asia, LTE is a very fast standard and it is avadable nearly everywere.
Well seeing as they are now offering the padfone 2 without the pad I think it is coming around the corner.
thanks for reviewing it, my shitty connection didnt allowed me to full watch it, does the phone has an led notification light?
thank you so much
You stated that the phone and the tablet together would be roughly $975 USD. Can I get it imported for around that price? or would it be a bit more expensive? It looks amazing !
My Note II looks not that high-end as the padfone!
whats with the snapdragons having throttling? my optimus G if it gets hot wont allow you to increase the brightness further, its kinda ridiculous
Sorry, and also, where can I purchase the PF:I if I were to import it to the US? Can you recommend any websites/companies for me? I would really appreciate it! I'm already falling in love with this phone and I want it ASAP.

Hello,
Is the micro-USB port on the Padfone Infinty a normal one? On the Padfone 2 there was a MHL port in which the micro-USB was very loose.
thanks mate!
Just curious, are you from English speaking country? Thanks for the review.
so it only crashes youtube if your watching a video on the phone and when the app is still running. you dock it into the tablet
You can. You just cannot do the seamless switching from Phone to Tab while watching.
wat about heating up... nexus 4 does heat up and u can feel it on the backside of the phone.. wat about the padfone infinity especially its has the aluminium body the heat should be very much noticeable ... have you felt any especially during ur gaming or browsing or testing.... please reply...
Where can i buy this in the USA?
I Think It Depends On Where You Live, But To Us Americans The Domestic U.S. S4 Version Has The Snapdragon 600 Processor.
I have a question:
What happens if the smartphone is connected to the tablet, and after connecting them, you launch youtube, does youtube work then?
yes, we are :)
Can the infinity one and 2 be connected to the tablet and then to the keyboard with the battery like the non infinity padfones ???? PLEASE HELP
No it is available for real ;) just got the confirmed delivery date.
@minipcpro I understand that the phone doesn't support US LTE, does it support AT&T or TMobile's DC-HSPA+?
If you'd got a Padfone 2, is it possible to connect the Padfone Infinity, to the Padfone 2 Tablet?
i'm from malaysia and i'm in love with this padfone,,did your sell it?
we live in Taipei, Taiwan
Dose that mean this device will not work inn the USA at all, I mean for just the 4G without the LTE ,,, if you know what I mean, and to be specific if this device would work with T-mobile in the USA
good review. but I am not sure about the transition video...
Where can I buy one of these? Or any asus product? I can't find a credible source anywhere online and the asus website is no help at all. Anyone have any ideas?
Lovely review. Absolutely foul choice from Asus not to make it compatible with the keyboard and trackpad... What were they thinking about? :(
Doesn't yourube work at all on the tablet? or is it the video directly displayed?
I'm waiting for this phone and will be getting the 64GB version.
Galaxy S4 i9505 unboxing, review and comparison please.

You mean youtube does not work on the docking station..at all?
Does Asus has a Windows 8.1 RT Tablet with a Nokia Lumia 1020 integratedly works hand in hand?
Minipcpro So if i live in US and using Net10 provider with 3g internet asus is not going to work ??? And second in one of the videos you sad that asus padfone infinity is pre-production phone do you know when they gonna realist the production phone ??

so.. looks or battery?
Where can you buy the htc one in the US for that price?
Can you tell me does this phone get warm on the backside and the upper screen/overheat problems?
Am seriously considering the 64gig of this phone but would like to know if its brighter than the samsung galaxy note 2
請問一下 在00:40時的遊戲是什麼?
so youtube doesnt work at all when the tablet is connected
may i ask where you live? i think you live in taiwan or korea coz you bring stuff where other sites cant.
Just curious, what game is that in the beginning?
i live in turkey, where can i get one?
Can't click the camera test link.???
How's the GPS, since Asus was known for screwing it up. This is also all metal again. Thx
