I haven’t truly played COD since MW3. I played BO4 only because all my college roommates had it and the taste it left in my mouth was so bad I dropped it once in January. This new COD is looking so good that I might even pre order it
Lol right, though I played up until cod ghosts. But back then you could buy map maps fairly cheaper than now. I didn’t mind advanced warfare or bo3 and don’t mind futuristic shooters it’s just I’m tired of the future shit already lol and the maps are just to small for how fast you can move. This game gives off the old school cod vibe when I would stay up all night with friends all winter playing the new cod and sleeping in school lol. Good times now that I think about it. I’m deff giving this game a shot just bc it’s actually modern and not like bo4 that is boots on the ground but still has a bunch of annoying ass future bullshit

You can tell instantly they've completely stripped out the system almost to the point it's a totally new game. If everything they're saying about the game is true and it actually works aswell as they say, with some easy to do changes, this could (by gameplay) be the best COD we've seen yet
Motion it felt clunky and slow because I was used to BO3 with infinite sprint and fast sprint out times with fast ADS times. In WW2 quickdraw basically doesn’t work. Grip barely works. High caliber only works on full auto weapons. Rapid fire does little to nothing to most guns... The game felt slow because no matter what you did you never got that super soldier feel like you did in MW3 or MW2. They eventually updated and gave infinite sprint but attachments still barely work. The quickdraw only works if you’re standing still aka camping or head glitching / pre aiming. If you’re sprinting and see someone and stop running to snap aim to them you essentially get no benefit from the QuickDraw and that’s bullshit!
Theres alot of people that complain about this, But its got a weird stigma about it. If you ever get a moment to breathe, Take a quick minute to listen around you and reload. Most people have a habit of slapping reload as soon as they kill someone which is dumb but reloading well before you need to is always good for you. Its more shots. Ten extra shots is at least a double kill with this time to kill to kill. Well worth it when you never know when you'll suddenly be facing like 6 guys out of nowhere
My mentality is “oh with my luck I’ll leave 20 rounds in the magazine and that will be enough for one kill....” but then I run into a room full of 3 guys whereas if you don’t have a full mag you’re dead for sure.

You CAN NOT compare a battle royale game to an arena free-for-all game. It's legit exact opposites. If I want a minimap I can still call a uav, it's a 2 kill killstreak, super easy to get. And hey we have so many things returning from previous mws (chopper gunner, ac130, NUKE, harrier, many guns from past mws etc) there is a 20v20 mode , the gunplay is satisfying af , the juggernaut is AWESOME , the night vision mode looks very interesting , I mean the community was asking for these things for ages and we got EVERYTHING in mw , so imo the minimap doesn't even worth bothering when there are a shit load of other good stuff. In the gunsmith after you modify your weapon are you able to try it out in a firing range type thing? With all the customization you’de think that’s a given
i’m so glad there’s no pick 10 for the sole reason that it weighs all items the same. there’s no reason an entire gun should be weighted the same in your class setup as an attachment or tactical equipment. ghosts’ perk system was flawed but having different items worth more and having to sacrifice more loadout space for them was very interesting and i feel it could’ve been better overall if they developed that idea more
I have been saying this for a while. Remember in ghost when perks didn't have equal weight in the class set up. I kinda wanted that to apply to everything in the game. A gun is not equal to an attachment. Attachments are usually better than a grenade. It was silly to make all things equal in value. Honestly. I do Miss strike packages.. Even if it was just standard killstreaks ,but changed based on class. other than that they seemed to have added everything i wanted. Plus some other things i didn't even know i wanted , but want now.20 v 20 sounds awesome. 10 v 10 ground war bad ass its been so long and ground war was one of my favorite gamemodes. 2 v 2 gunfight mode just to mix things up. guns with tons of attachments and true weapon customization. so awesome.
Agreed. It would need development for sure. I had a pretty broken setup in hardcore back in the day and if I got killstreaks, I'd get perks instead and would be running around with 13 perks on xD

But we need to know... do we have private match and squad up matchmaking based on our platforms, or will it be based on our Call of Duty accounts, which will be expanded to have friends lists, or will you be able to log into Battle.net on console? Either of the latter would be great so I can play with my console buddies.

You'll learn the maps over time so it again becomes pointless and used ONLY when a enemy shoots or you get a uav which is still in the game. So I'm okay with the mini map being gone.

I think they did an incredible job with the quality of the game. There were almost no errors to my knowledge and I think they flawlessly ran 20v20. Oh and they were just casually running cross play for the first time in Cod history. We're not even on the beta yet so I'm really impressed.
I think having no minimap is a terribly bad decision. This feature is essential for cod because it enhances your situational awareness and without it, it is going to be much harder to see where your teammates are on the map and where they are pushing from which is how the minimap is supposed to be used. It is so much easier and ultimately makes the game more fun if you are able to find enemies quicker and without a minimap it could slow down the pace of the game.
As a diehard for both franchises,im perfectly fine with this cod using mechanics from BF4,BF1,BF5. The doors,the spawn system,also they finally let you edit classes in game,bf3(2011) and bf4(2013) have that. Bf4 had the lean system and the bipod system so im honestly hyped for this year. Been wanting a cool hybrid of both styles,this could be the closest thing.
There are gonna be things used to counter campers, I already saw one grenade that is similar to the sensor grenade from Black ops 2 but it shows people through walls.
I believe i read somewhere, that when joining a game you are locked to the input you joined the lobby with. however im unsure how it would determine which input youre using if both are plugged in

This games seems like if ghosts was given a chance to reach its full potential and didn’t have it’s horrible cycle. Big maps tons of attachments. Markmens rifle class. Can’t wait to see it.

The mini map is essential for skilled playersor old players like me its a skill set that i have obtainrs over the years to be able to read that mini map while actively moving around the map to be a better player

Having killstreaks rather than scorestreaks mean you are not being rewarded (if anything punished) for playing the objective in modes like Domination now since capturing a flag puts you at risk of dying. Therefore, killstreaks combined with no foot step sounds and no mini-map will mean the entire game is going to be a camp fest of TDM. All objective modes will be essentially not worth playing and will be played like a campy TDM. This game sounds like a mess ngl
Two, only two... modern warfare 1 and modern warfare 2. both of which had MAJOR camping problems with people spamming gernade launchers lol. they were anything but balanced. They might have been great games, but the balancing was awful. Though, to be fair it was made early PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 days so what can you expect... BUT WE DESERVE BETTER IN 2019

They’re basically turning the game into one giant hardcore mode. It’s not game-breaking. They have a compass that acts like the mini map because the dots still show up, you just have to shout the number to your teammates. I don’t really care for it, I’m just glad we’re back to true BoTG

Donnie Darko What? Thats stupid. If you take off permanent effects of Ghost then Ghost itself is a useless perk like it is in Bo4. There would be no point in having ghost.
Having no mini-map already means it'll be 2x as hard to learn the map layout, it'll be magnitudes harder to have situational awareness (especially since Ace confirmed footstep noises are basically non-existent), it'll be very difficult to tell when the spawns have flipped, and it'll encourage people to camp more in order to not get ambushed. Having no real audible footstep sounds means (again) situational awareness will be completely messed up. Having the Ghost perk be always active will also contribute to camping due to the inability for enemies to tell where you are hiding. Finally I think the biggest negative that is icing on the cake for the situational awareness problems... Using the old killstreak system means there will be zero reward for actually playing the objective in modes like Domination as you're putting your life at risk without any benefit to yourself as a player. Therefore, the objective modes are going to be a disaster to try playing. It'll basically be everyone playing Domination, Capture The Flag, etc as a campy Team Deathmatch mode. Scorestreaks allowed people to have different play-styles (support, defensive, offensive) while playing the objectives and get rewards. Killstreaks combined with the no mini-map, no footsteps, etc will basically make this game into a camp fest while destroying objective games at the same time...

This game took alot of things from Battlefield and I have personally no issue with that because I think Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5 are very good games. I don't see a big issue with editing a class mid-game and such. I do hope we have combat records, leaderboards, pre-game teams (who is on which team) and all that stuff. I just want those staples of COD in COD. I also really hope they have Dead Silence and sound whoring back in the game. I think that's a very good skill to have that separates players from eachother.
The only thing that sort of has me bummed out is the lack of a BR. I know people hate Battleroyale but Black Ops 4 was a solid take and having this movement and mechanics that in Modern Warfare in a BR mode would be awesome.
I think he’s saying how the “assassin” perk use to work in the old mw games. You never showed up on the uav unless you were shooting without a silencer. Compared to how “ghost” for black ops only works while moving. In addition, there’s no uav in hardcore nor regular matches
The First map in this video reminded me so heavily of Freight from COD Ghosts. Not just because it was in a train yard, but some of the layout seemed to line up perfectly with that map
in real life you have to hold the weapon lower in your shoulder while using night vision goggles. The recoil will smack your goggles and turn them off. But if you have an IR switch on your PEQ15. That is also extremely accurate.

This seems like a back to basics game where the basics are (hopefully) done pretty well.

You'll learn the maps over time so it again becomes pointless and used ONLY when a enemy shoots or you get a uav which is still in the game. So I'm okay with the mini map being gone.

I think they did an incredible job with the quality of the game. There were almost no errors to my knowledge and I think they flawlessly ran 20v20. Oh and they were just casually running cross play for the first time in Cod history. We're not even on the beta yet so I'm really impressed.

I think having no minimap is a terribly bad decision. This feature is essential for cod because it enhances your situational awareness and without it, it is going to be much harder to see where your teammates are on the map and where they are pushing from which is how the minimap is supposed to be used. It is so much easier and ultimately makes the game more fun if you are able to find enemies quicker and without a minimap it could slow down the pace of the game.
All you got to do is press the start button if it's anything like hardcore
As a diehard for both franchises,im perfectly fine with this cod using mechanics from BF4,BF1,BF5. The doors,the spawn system,also they finally let you edit classes in game,bf3(2011) and bf4(2013) have that. Bf4 had the lean system and the bipod system so im honestly hyped for this year. Been wanting a cool hybrid of both styles,this could be the closest thing.

I believe i read somewhere, that when joining a game you are locked to the input you joined the lobby with. however im unsure how it would determine which input youre using if both are plugged in

This games seems like if ghosts was given a chance to reach its full potential and didn’t have it’s horrible cycle. Big maps tons of attachments. Markmens rifle class. Can’t wait to see it.

FMJ is gun perk, while Stopping Power is an offensive field upgrade you choose in-game (based on what I've seen)
Fmj doesn't deal extra dmg to people so I think it's both in the game
Fmj in previous cods did nothing to increase actual gun damage and I assume this is the case for this as well

Having killstreaks rather than scorestreaks mean you are not being rewarded (if anything punished) for playing the objective in modes like Domination now since capturing a flag puts you at risk of dying. Therefore, killstreaks combined with no foot step sounds and no mini-map will mean the entire game is going to be a camp fest of TDM. All objective modes will be essentially not worth playing and will be played like a campy TDM.

Two, only two... modern warfare 1 and modern warfare 2. both of which had MAJOR camping problems with people spamming gernade launchers lol. they were anything but balanced. They might have been great games, but the balancing was awful. Though, to be fair it was made early PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 days so what can you expect...

They’re basically turning the game into one giant hardcore mode. It’s not game-breaking. They have a compass that acts like the mini map because the dots still show up, you just have to shout the number to your teammates. I don’t really care for it, I’m just glad we’re back to true BoTG

That gunplay looks nice and solid with the bullet physics. Never was a fan of the laser hitscan methods previously used.

Donnie Darko What? Thats stupid. If you take off permanent effects of Ghost then Ghost itself is a useless perk like it is in Bo4. There would be no point in having ghost.
Having no mini-map already means it'll be 2x as hard to learn the map layout, it'll be magnitudes harder to have situational awareness (especially since Ace confirmed footstep noises are basically non-existent), it'll be very difficult to tell when the spawns have flipped, and it'll encourage people to camp more in order to not get ambushed. Having no real audible footstep sounds means (again) situational awareness will be completely messed up. Having the Ghost perk be always active will also contribute to camping due to the inability for enemies to tell where you are hiding.
Finally I think the biggest negative that is icing on the cake for the situational awareness problems...
Using the old killstreak system means there will be zero reward for actually playing the objective in modes like Domination as you're putting your life at risk without any benefit to yourself as a player. Therefore, the objective modes are going to be a disaster to try playing. It'll basically be everyone playing Domination, Capture The Flag, etc as a campy Team Deathmatch mode.
Scorestreaks allowed people to have different play-styles (support, defensive, offensive) while playing the objectives and get rewards. Killstreaks combined with the no mini-map, no footsteps, etc will basically make this game into a camp fest while destroying objective games at the same time...

This game took alot of things from Battlefield and I have personally no issue with that because I think Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5 are very good games. I don't see a big issue with editing a class mid-game and such.
I do hope we have combat records, leaderboards, pre-game teams (who is on which team) and all that stuff. I just want those staples of COD in COD. I also really hope they have Dead Silence and sound whoring back in the game. I think that's a very good skill to have that separates players from eachother.

The only thing that sort of has me bummed out is the lack of a BR. I know people hate Battleroyale but Black Ops 4 was a solid take and having this movement and mechanics that in Modern Warfare in a BR mode would be awesome.

I think he’s saying how the “assassin” perk use to work in the old mw games. You never showed up on the uav unless you were shooting without a silencer. Compared to how “ghost” for black ops only works while moving. In addition, there’s no uav in hardcore nor regular matches

The First map in this video reminded me so heavily of Freight from COD Ghosts. Not just because it was in a train yard, but some of the layout seemed to line up perfectly with that map

in real life you have to hold the weapon lower in your shoulder while using night vision goggles. The recoil will smack your goggles and turn them off. But if you have an IR switch on your PEQ15. That is also extremely accurate.
