Also I can understand why that guy said Lens, even though there were only 100 of them, they were about as loud. Insane energy and pyros, just incredible.
I think the comment about Lens may be due to the fact that the capacity of their stadium is bigger than the population of the actual city. However, they draw a lot of support from the wider metropolitan area, despite them being located so close to Lille.

Sorry that you had to suffer a loss for the home team! French! I enjoyed your insightful comments like what you noticed observing how Kylian Mbappé plays. I'm from French-speaking Belgium. I know French supporters as very passionate, but also impulsive/hot-tempered fans [a behaviour obviously not limited to fans in France by any means!]. I do want to attend a game in Ligue 1 someday, maybe in Lille or in Marseille. Also, as I'm a native speaker of French, I just wanted to bring a small correction to the translation given of the message displayed in the stand: "Laurent Blanc, if you don't have the balls to fight, resign [rather than "stay at home"]".
7:55 That PSG fan in the black full body suit had immense faith in the ability of that net to hold him. I suppose if it had failed, at least he'd have died doing something he loved.
The best atmoshere is defenitely in Lens and then Saint-Etienne. However, if a match is regular, without rivalry, it can be rather silent. It does not concern the fans' stand though. I mean if you compare to Balkan/Greek atmosphere it's quieter.
Back in the 80's when I was growing up no one talked about PSG. And before Marseille won UCL, St Etienne, Sochaux, Bastia, Bordeaux were so close the teams that made France dream, they were so close....
I became a fan of the Olympic Lyonnais after managing them in football manager. Considering this is pretty much the same team that fight its way back after being down 4-1 to Montpellier to win 5-4 last season, I thought that what the ultras were saying was absolutely spot on. They deserved to get their asses chewed out like that. If Laurent Blanc didn’t give them the Sir Alex Ferguson hairdryer treatment after a game like that, then I don’t know how much longer he’s going to be the manager of OL.
Why do I feel like the French have a way of making everything, even Football, more dramatic? I'm honestly surprised you didn't go with the film-noire filter for this episode.
Lyon went from midatble / ligue 2 team , to totally dominating the french league to falling apart in the last 8 years, with extra team going down this year , they will struggle to stay up if nothing change soon
Wow. The years they were mid table/Ligue 2 were before I was born but I grew up watching them dominate French football, sad to see their situation now.
@@stuntpeggnieve I loved when you asked to fans if Lyon could be champion this year 😂😂 I'm sure some of them wanted to answer: are you making fun of us?
The best atmosphere in France (one of the best in the world) is at Stade Velodrome of Marseille. Only people who don't like OM (Marseille's club, it's the most popular, so has also many haters, especially in Paris/Lyon, the two "enemies") say it's Lens, Saint-Etienne (both great though), or another one. Balotelli said of all his clubs (Liverpool, Milan, Inter, etc), the best atmosphere was clearly in Marseille. Many others players/coaches (of OM and of oppenents) said the same thing. Of course, like in any other stadium, best atmospheres are for biggest games : vs PSG, Lyon, Monaco, Saint-Etienne, and of course european games. Maybe someday you will be there for one of this game. It would make another great video. ;)

Congrats on the WtW appearance, and being magnanimous in your opinion on what they have going on! When plenty of folks took the easy road, you took the tough, and you came out vindicated. I hope your appearance gains you many more followers!
Another masterful film thank you Nieve
Sorry that you had to suffer a loss for the home team! French! I enjoyed your insightful comments like what you noticed observing how Kylian Mbappé plays. I'm from French-speaking Belgium. I know French supporters as very passionate, but also impulsive/hot-tempered fans [a behaviour obviously not limited to fans in France by any means!]. I do want to attend a game in Ligue 1 someday, maybe in Lille or in Marseille. Also, as I'm a native speaker of French, I just wanted to bring a small correction to the translation given of the message displayed in the stand: "Laurent Blanc, if you don't have the balls to fight, resign [rather than "stay at home"]".
loved this coverage! people love to meme on ligue 1 undeservedly considering it's the second biggest exporter of football talent in the world
Very nice! It will be difficult for the other teams to hold PSG, you seem to be the best team.
Go to the Velodrome in Marseille, France you'll be shocked by the crazy atmosphere. best stadium in this country
Lens, the best ambiance
Hey, congratulations 🎉 on making the Welcome to Wrexham s2e3 cut. ❤
You absolutely need to watch a game in Lens, you won't be disappointed
As a Lyon born Canadian citizen, I thank you for this video ❤
7:55 That PSG fan in the black full body suit had immense faith in the ability of that net to hold him. I suppose if it had failed, at least he'd have died doing something he loved.
So cool to see you in the Welcome to Wrexham doc!! 😊
Coco Pops in France was called Choco Pops since 1985 > 2003... then renamed Coco Pops.
Glad to see one of your videos be shown on Welcome to Wrexham
Thank You for your video 🤩 A Lyon fan 🦁❤️💙
do you hate Barcola for the tranfser?
6:47 I actually thought that was a photoshopped picture of a paper airplane put over the video, until he picked it up! haha!
The best atmoshere is defenitely in Lens and then Saint-Etienne. However, if a match is regular, without rivalry, it can be rather silent. It does not concern the fans' stand though. I mean if you compare to Balkan/Greek atmosphere it's quieter.
4:95 the music with the fingers ahahahah
Back in the 80's when I was growing up no one talked about PSG. And before Marseille won UCL, St Etienne, Sochaux, Bastia, Bordeaux were so close the teams that made France dream, they were so close....
More lively than the Prem! Although a bookshop has more atmosphere than most Prem games.
If Laurent Blanc didn’t give them the Sir Alex Ferguson hairdryer treatment after a game like that, then I don’t know how much longer he’s going to be the manager of OL.
great video as always ! thank you
Thanks so much!
Proper fans down there, they don't mess about! Hate to think what would happen if they removed Coco Pops from the shelves!
Why do I feel like the French have a way of making everything, even Football, more dramatic? I'm honestly surprised you didn't go with the film-noire filter for this episode.
je suis fan de lyon est de voir le club comme sa sa fait mal meme si on meritait pas de perdre 4-1 ...
PSG and Brilliant are two words that don't go together well, together well 🎸🎸🎸
As someone who works MLS matchdays, would love to see you over here one day
2:04 ''makes French noise'' je suis mort 😂😂
The paper airplane speaks volumes for Lyon.. oooooof ☘
Oh wow, profound but true..
It would make another great video. ;)
in Marseille they re loud only when they have the lead, if the other way around it's a church and you know it they often leave the place before the end...
@@benrichard3675 Lol, this is the most wrong and stupid thing ever said.
@@Laurent_08 c'est ca ouais...
Go to Francis le blé please ❤❤
A stadium that breathes football with a real atmosphere
Brest is a beautiful team
I'm french and I suggest you to come in a Marseille match in Orange Velodrome!!! It's incredible!
