Hello StuntPegg, I've been following your channel for quite some time now, and I must say it's fantastic, as I am a passionate person when it comes to football, English, and football in general. When it comes to women's football, it has been a constant struggle, but in recent years, sufficient value has been given to women practicing this sport. In Colombia, women's football has been professional since 2017 with the establishment of the Women's Professional Football League, where we have achieved more accomplishments than in men's football. The same goes for the national team. Last year, in the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, the Colombian team made it to the final against Spain, a football powerhouse. I hope you can explore the world of football from this corner of the planet. Greetings from Colombia. I hope you can continue making these types of videos that contribute not only to women's football but also to society.
As an Hispanic, my first experience was watching the 1999 WWC. The lack of Spanish-language countries was not lost on me... Hispanic cultures are not kind to women.
If you want to compare the men's and women's teams you should first get them to play each other. You will then see just how 'accomplished' the women are...
@@xenomorph6961 not sure you're getting it. The women's game was banned for 50 years! Why? Because it was more popular than the men's game at that time drawing crowds of 50,000 and more in the 1920s. During this season the Arsenal Womens average attendance is higher than that of the Premier League. Is that not accomplishment? If you're intent on reducing the comparison of the sport to simply "who's a better baller" it is risky to presume the men's team would win so emphatically, even with 50 years of growth as a head start.
Don't be so humble, Nieve. All those thousands of fans were really there to see you! What a final it was, the atmosphere must've been incredible in Eindhoven. Keep up your great work, especially your coverage of the Women's game. 👏

The incredible potential for it to grow even more is super exciting and I hope there is a continued press for investment especially from the major footballing organisations. I can't wait to see our Lionesses (The Proud European Champions I have to add), back in action at this years World Cup next month.
Here in the US, women's football has had the benefit of our title 9 that supports girls' school sport at the youth level. There is still a lot to do in terms of improving the conditions of the game as well as changing some of the animosity towards women's sport. Definitely looking forward to the WWC this year!!
Portsmouth Women FC have just become semi-pro this week. It's great to see the women's game grow in popularity. I'm looking forward to the World Cup this summer and I'll be watching with my sons just like we did the Euros.
It is also not as interesting to watch as the under 16s or 18s, that used to get lots of limelight at clubs, in the FA youth cup for example, yet somehow, a slower, less dynamic women's game, seems to get all the fanfare and centre stage. I wonder how that makes the youth men's feel ? How it might affect their future ?

We got an MLS team here in Austin a couple years ago and it's popularity has encouraged a couple semi-pro women's teams. One started last week, Austin Rise, first home game is Sunday! We were also fortunate to see the USWNT play Ireland a couple months ago. It was awesome.

Women were never 'banned from kicking a football'. The national and international governing bodies didn't recognise them but there were plenty teams and in some places even leagues. Women's football has come on leaps and bounds since then.

Women's fitba was not banned in the UK, ever. The FA would not allow clubs to have women play on their grounds, but since when did the FA make UK laws? Never. Women could play anywhere else they pleased in the UK. So no ban. Ever. Why wait for FIFA or UEFA? If women's football is worth anything, then start afresh and make women's organizations and show the men how it's done. The women players surely don't need the men to piggyback off, do they?
If you ever get the opportunity to take your show to the US, I’d very highly recommend traveling to Portland, OR (BA has a direct flight 😉) to check out the Timbers and Thorns FC. That’d be the men’s and women’s teams respectively. They share Providence Park which has some unique architecture, being crammed into city blocks and all. Light rail is out front and connects directly to the airport. Massive MASSIVE turnout and support for both teams.
Womens Football is so fun to watch. It really is a shame that FIFA and UEFA don't support them more. Here in Germany it isn't even safe to say if the World Cup this year will be broadcasted on TV cause FIFA demands insanely much money (as usually), which the Public Broadcasting Service isn't willing to pay
it can be fun but it will never be equal to men because it's too slow and it lacks pace, power and phisicality that's why almost nobody watches it and as result it generates no money and to be honest nothing they can do it's natural thing men are stronger that's why they will never reach these levels
You sorta have it the wrong way round, due to criticism FIFA are trying to equalise the prize money between the men's and women's world cup by 2027 (in fact they have promised to do so iirc) which means they need to generate more money.. This world cup they are trying to push it to $152m or so, men's last year was $440m, so they will need a big increase for 2027. The only way they can really do that is to increase sponsorships and of course... ask for loads more money from broadcasters. As a result broadcasters are saying 'no thanks' as it does not reflect value for money and so they will struggle to even meet the $152m this year, let alone get anywhere near $440m in 2027 (probably more as the next men's world cup will likely exceed $440m) Basically, this big push for 'equal pay' is what is causing the problems, and entirely foreseeable of course.
@@abdelrahmanlfc8280 "almost nobody watches it and as a result it generates no money"? What an ignorant thing to say. Were all those people that filled Wembley and Camp Nou nobodies in your eyes? Media companies keep paying more and more for broadcasting rights not because they have to millions spare, but because people want to watch it and they make money from showing it. So far, a million nobodies have bought tickets for the next women's World Cup in Australia/New Zealand. Men being stronger doesn't necessarily make for a better spectacle, there are plenty of boring men's games, games where they drop like they're shot from the breeze created by an opposition player and writhe on the ground for a minute, while the replay shows no contact at all. Then there's the agro towards officials and from spectators plus the ridiculous amount required for a ticket to watch that rubbish.
I'm such a proud supporter of women's football and to see it take off in the amount of time I've lived here has been so great, ah my heart feels full ❤ Viv is just so cool, I love her so much ❤ Being in the stadium whiles seeing both my countries play against each other during the Euro's was quite surreal and the atmosphere was so brilliant! The atmosphere at the Champions League match looked so brilliant as well, so happy you could be there! Was watching the match on RUclips whiles I had the men's FA Cup match on telly but also got updates from the group that I'm a member of, we are so very excited for the World Cup that we're already swapping digital Panini stickers 😅
For say 7-8 years myself and a pal regularly go to Bohemian FC matches all across Ireland, we've over the last 2 years started going to a fair share of Bohemian women's matches as well. Great to see. Nice video.🔴⚫️
I did not know that women were banned from playing on the grounds of FA clubs by the FA in 1921. I was born after the ban was lifted, but still it is a historical fact that I don't think I have ever heard told anywhere else! Thank you!
One thing that excites me about women's football is seeing it develop its own culture, slowly separating itself further from the men's. Seeing the passion increase in the stands but without the male aggression is lovely to see.
Like women’s football but tbh it has only really grown because of heavy investment from the Clubs, Premier League, FIFA and the Media Being realistic there is never going to be a day when it’s on equal footing with the Men’s game I’d like to see a day soon when it’s able to exist on its own merit
imagine the barcelona fans if the mens tesm were in the UCL final, they would go mad 8 years without the trophy, but congrats to the ladies keeping the europe trophies alive for the club
Tú no te preocupes si el equipo masculino no gana champions. Nosotros sabemos esperar, algún día nuevamente tendremos los jugadores de casa, los que verdaderamente hicieron grande al Barza.
Nieve, one question, do you find women's matches more violent with more fouls than the men's divisions? I saw a few online and they sure fight a lot more. There were so many fouls and the yellow and red cards did show once or twice. I forget what town but they were between very small towns in the US and England.
Nieve, we are hosting the Women's WC here in Oz this July. I have never watched the women's game before (it hasn't really appealed to me) but I'll give it a red-hot go during this WC.
The women's game is so much fun to watch! Everyone really gets into it, and even for a second year team we've got a thriving supporters section. If you ever make it out to San Diego during the NWSL season my friend and I have a spare season ticket you're welcome to use.
So I used to really chop the music up but now I use a website called Lickd where you can buy a license to use a song on a one off video. Also, thank you!
I’ve been following the women’s game for many years now, I would say from 2015 or just before. It’s great to see the growth in the sport and talent finally been seen by the masses, it’s still on the rise and many things still have to change to improve and help the players. I’ve even hooked my dad now that on Saturday he chose to watch the women’s champions league instead of the fa cup final.
I appreciate the retro music cuts! Even a little pre-Eurythmics Tourists, huh? Been watching women footie for quite a while now. Among my favorites are Vero Boquete and Rachel Daly.

Women's football banned. You just could not make it up. Why? and who banned it. Men i bet. As a dad with a girl I find it AWFUL to think girls were banned from this sort of thing, Shame on those people. Women's football is great and more power to them.
Women’s football deserves to be more reconigized when I was covering the local matches at my community college this past year. Each time I had my radio show I always shouted out the women’s football team and also was able to do color commentary for them as well and the team ended up winning the championship. Love support women’s football it’s super fun to watch
Why does it "deserve" to be more recognised? That's ridiculous. Nobody or nothing "deserves" to be successful unless it genuinely is. People are not being deliberately sexist about women's football. The fact of the matter is it's simply light years behind the men's game in almost every factor. It's almost a different sport so it's got to start at the bottom and convince more and more people that it's worth watching. If more of you women got out there and genuinely followed it like men follow THEIR teams (religiously in Europe and South America) then you'll get the recognition you deserve. Until then this woke rubbish from FIFA and EUFA of trying to pay equal prize money will only backfire on the women's game, believe me.
@@cyberdonblue4413 It's typical of feminism to just request something being given to them based on their gender alone. As if these men who are best at what they do didn't work hard to get there. Not to mention the obvious fact that due to biological differences, men's game will always be much more intense.
@@DM-rc4yuyou might not like it but the fact of life is the women’s game has been held down and even illegal for years, that’s why we fight and why feminism must continue its battle
The first Woman's International game in UK was played in my home town scotland v England ravinscraig stadium greenock a day before I was born 18th Nov 72
The game was revolutionized when the major European Clubs took on women’s teams. Since then the game has grown massively, but more importantly, has gained credibility. When judged on its own merits, and not the neanderthal comparisons to the men’s game, then you realize what a great game women’s football is. It has been exciting to see it explode in the last few years, and the players getting the credit they deserve.
It's own merits? Women's football is not only subsidized by men's but is also being aggressively pushed by teams to chase ESG ratings. If we judge it by its own merits, competition wise it might be fine (For now, trans athletes might become a problem in the future), but as a spectacle it fails massively, low skill, intensity, terrible player quality in defense and in goal, etc. Women's football has grown massively in exposure and professionalism, but that exposure hasn't improved its credibility, it's actually the opposite.
Seeing this final depressed me more how close we were this year to actually beating Barcelona, next year the women are going to come back stronger and might be our year. I do think women's football is getting bigger and bigger and I hope the new owners putt them in high priority since we are in pole position. They should put this game later as they do all the European finals, it would be Europa league then next Saturday women's UCL, then Conference and the last Saturday the men's final. This being played at 4 clashed with the FA cup final and F1
Womens football was not banned in the U.K. until 1971, the FA did not allow female football on it’s members grounds, that’s 92 stadiums, it could be played anywhere else and indeed ladies games were played on Luton town’s ground during the Second World War.

Why does Viv Miedema sound Scottish to me!?? Aside from that, I love the coverage of the women's game. I've been a Sheff Utd Womens season ticket holder this year, after watching the Euros semi final at Bramall Lane. The only reason I'm not renewing it is because I've not been able to go to half the games, but I'll still go to as many as I can, and maybe even a few of the men's PL fixtures!
I will always get goosebumps watching major Women's football finals and hearing that the chants are dominantly sang by female voices. Of course I want everyone to be a fan and support women's sports. But there is just an amazing environment created when you see lil girls come with their teammates and friends and see for the first time that there are women playing professionally on the pitch that are being surrounded and backed by thousands of other women in the stands. I'm American and I remember as a lil girl watching Brandi Chastain's iconic 1999 world cup goal celebration and having my friends and I recreating the moment in practice often, dreaming of a day where we could do the same. That moment inspired us so much (and still does tbh), so to see the sport grow so much and have girls get to see so much more representation just makes me so excited for the sport.
No offence to women’s football but there’s a reason barely anybody watches it in the UK. The talent on display is far from entertaining and goalkeepers may as well be non existent

That’d be the men’s and women’s teams respectively. They share Providence Park which has some unique architecture, being crammed into city blocks and all. Light rail is out front and connects directly to the airport. Massive MASSIVE turnout and support for both teams.
When people stop comparing the mens game with the womens game we'll all be the better for it.
@@abdelrahmanlfc8280 i watch the league of ireland trust me, substandard football is not a reason
As a result broadcasters are saying 'no thanks' as it does not reflect value for money and so they will struggle to even meet the $152m this year, let alone get anywhere near $440m in 2027 (probably more as the next men's world cup will likely exceed $440m)
Basically, this big push for 'equal pay' is what is causing the problems, and entirely foreseeable of course.
@@abdelrahmanlfc8280 Tell me you've never seen a Womens Game without telling me you've never seen a Womens Game.
Loving your work - and love a mention of Rochdale too!
I'm such a proud supporter of women's football and to see it take off in the amount of time I've lived here has been so great, ah my heart feels full ❤ Viv is just so cool, I love her so much ❤
Being in the stadium whiles seeing both my countries play against each other during the Euro's was quite surreal and the atmosphere was so brilliant!
To be honest, I didn't see many fans in that stadium, instead there were liberal
For say 7-8 years myself and a pal regularly go to Bohemian FC matches all across Ireland, we've over the last 2 years started going to a fair share of Bohemian women's matches as well. Great to see. Nice video.🔴⚫️
This video is really nicely edited. Nice work as always.
I did not know that women were banned from playing on the grounds of FA clubs by the FA in 1921. I was born after the ban was lifted, but still it is a historical fact that I don't think I have ever heard told anywhere else! Thank you!
Omg I was there too! Hope you enjoyed your stay in Eindhoven.
this was an epic match!
p.s. Viv is the GOAT no matter if she playing or not..
Gorgeous stadium btw
I thought that, would love to come back to watch PSV
One thing that excites me about women's football is seeing it develop its own culture, slowly separating itself further from the men's. Seeing the passion increase in the stands but without the male aggression is lovely to see.
very hyped. Barcelone vs Green W. i was rooting for Green W team, very exiting.go women so much very
Amazing video once again. Been on another binge!
33k is fine to be honest, but there's NO WAY this game can be considered equal to the men's C1 final. It will never be.
love the videos love the music clips love stuntpegg xx
Like women’s football but tbh it has only really grown because of heavy investment from the Clubs, Premier League, FIFA and the Media
Being realistic there is never going to be a day when it’s on equal footing with the Men’s game
I’d like to see a day soon when it’s able to exist on its own merit
Wow! You had great access there, from the hotel, to your seat, to an interview with The GOAT, VM. Congratulations… from a jealous Gooner.
Love love love your video.
It’s fantastic flippin awesome and that is a massive understatement. Massive massive thumbs up for it. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
imagine the barcelona fans if the mens tesm were in the UCL final, they would go mad 8 years without the trophy, but congrats to the ladies keeping the europe trophies alive for the club
Fief has a lovely soft Scottish accent...best way to learn new languages...⚽
Great channel but i have to ask...how do you get clearance for the music?
So I used to really chop the music up but now I use a website called Lickd where you can buy a license to use a song on a one off video. Also, thank you!
Brilliant video as per usual💪 Ben fatto!
Grazie mille! 🙏
I wish it was broadcast more commonly here. If it was televised as much as AFL is I’d watch as much football as I could 😂
There was a potential spin off tease at the end of Ted Lasso for a Women's AFC Richmond team. If that happens do you think you'd want any part in it?
Oh that’d be an absolute dream. I got goosebumps all throughout that final scene, especially that teaser.
Your sense of humour is awesome lol 😂
I’ve been following the women’s game for many years now, I would say from 2015 or just before. It’s great to see the growth in the sport and talent finally been seen by the masses, it’s still on the rise and many things still have to change to improve and help the players.
I’ve even hooked my dad now that on Saturday he chose to watch the women’s champions league instead of the fa cup final.
I appreciate the retro music cuts! Even a little pre-Eurythmics Tourists, huh?
Been watching women footie for quite a while now. Among my favorites are Vero Boquete and Rachel Daly.
Just watched Hammarby W win the swedish cup today!
Nice! I still need to complete my trip of Stockholm derbies with Hammarby vs AIK !
Fantastic Vlog Nieve.
Colleague of mine plays, damaged her metatarsal. Made her Google "Sasquatch" as per her Foot Protection at work.
Still pissed off Doncaster Belles got ripped off, knew some of those Ladies too...
Women's football banned. You just could not make it up. Why? and who banned it. Men i bet. As a dad with a girl I find it AWFUL to think girls were banned from this sort of thing, Shame on those people. Women's football is great and more power to them.
Telling those guys that Putellas was from Rochdale had me in stitches
If you ever come to the US, the Portland Thorns have a great atmosphere for the women's game.
@@cyberdonblue4413 "Woke rubbish" way to make yourself look like a complete snowflake.

So are you coming to Australia for the Women's World Cup?
“The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there.” (L.P. Hartley)
It's still jaw dropping how different some things were 50 years ago
Seeing this final depressed me more how close we were this year to actually beating Barcelona, next year the women are going to come back stronger and might be our year. I do think women's football is getting bigger and bigger and I hope the new owners putt them in high priority since we are in pole position. They should put this game later as they do all the European finals, it would be Europa league then next Saturday women's UCL, then Conference and the last Saturday the men's final. This being played at 4 clashed with the FA cup final and F1
1:09 imagine pulling up to this thinking you’ll see Barcelona FC players but then the woman’s team walks out 😂
Womens football was not banned in the U.K. until 1971, the FA did not allow female football on it’s members grounds, that’s 92 stadiums, it could be played anywhere else and indeed ladies games were played on Luton town’s ground during the Second World War.
Didn’t the women’s final in UK fill up Wembly Stadium this past season?
First women's European Cup final was at Luton Town also home of an illegal women's football match between Marks & Spencer vs Woolworths after WW1
Women's football has been a huge reason why the sport has grown so much here in Canada over the last 15 years or so. Awesome to see.
In my city, Houston Dash has a Canadian trio. Nichelle Prince is injured but Sophie Schmidt and Allysha Chapman are still key players.
Canadian men have overcome them and women's team declining

I’d love to see more content like this!
I know this guy from somewhere, 4:09, was he on barca's socials?
Your reports never fail to enlighten and amuse
Why does Viv Miedema sound Scottish to me!??
Aside from that, I love the coverage of the women's game. I've been a Sheff Utd Womens season ticket holder this year, after watching the Euros semi final at Bramall Lane. The only reason I'm not renewing it is because I've not been able to go to half the games, but I'll still go to as many as I can, and maybe even a few of the men's PL fixtures!
Love that! And you’re not the only one who hears the Scottish. Viv’s accent is wonderfully bonkers
It really struck me too how odd her accent is. She was in a long term relationship with a Scottish player so she might have picked it up from her.
She used to be in a relationship with scotland international lisa evans so I think she's picked it up from living with her
Your a true inspiration for women and I'm a Manchester United fan
That is in Eindhoven, 20km from my house ! Will you come to the nations league final in Rotterdam ?
That moment inspired us so much (and still does tbh), so to see the sport grow so much and have girls get to see so much more representation just makes me so excited for the sport.
then you remember the USWNT were beaten by u15 boys team lol
No offence to women’s football but there’s a reason barely anybody watches it in the UK. The talent on display is far from entertaining and goalkeepers may as well be non existent
Miedma's so cool. I appreciate this video. Thanks for real
