My photoshop cs6 is not saving pictures i dont know the reason why everytime i try to save a picture it pop up a notification on the screen the message is "could not save as "C:\Users\...
ame of the file.psd" because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the "Properties" command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file.
Help me out if you can I need your help. Thanks 😊
When using an existing Jpeg file with some changes made, Using the Save command gets the response from Photoshop; "you do not have sufficient permissions" and the Save function then does not work.
Please I don't have the 'Save a copy ' in my options, how can restore that ??
25 years of using PS and not appreciating Adobe ‘fixing problems’ that never existed.
This looks like a recipe for disaster, changing the muscle-memory many of us have with saving files. I can see anyone working on a flat image accidentally overwriting their image. Well, I no longer use CC's latest versions (their most recent one has had a showstopper crash bug since Oct 2020, which they have made very little attempt to fix (other than telling us to delete our prefs, delete our prefs, have you switched it off and on again? Delete your prefs.). Infuriating that they're wasting resources on this sort of "FIX" when there are actual bugs that are preventing artists from doing actual work. "IF it ain't broke, fix it until it is", Adobe motto.
ASAP I'll be rolling back to CS5.5 (or CS6 if I can get my old copy to install). Bye bye cloud, and good riddance.
Was going to say the exact same thing. The person that thought this was a good idea needs to be fired.
That was single stupidest thing they did maybe ever. There is also a bug when clicking save a copy button from save as, where it will save tif with layers even if you uncheck that option. . .
@@animatewithdermot Well it actually WAS broke - on Mac Big Sur at least - see the link in my comment.
@@Ruffian_Xion Oh, yes, I've been wrangling with The Bug for months; have finally given up and am rolling back to CS6, as well as quitting my CC ASAP. From now on if I need an app I'll get it for a month then quit again; the latest 'update' of PS takes 2 minutes to load, then crashes when I try to open a file. I get the impression this issue is dependent on certain hardward configs, (mine is generic NVIDIA on a PC, so I don't know why it hasn't hit more people). In any case, the treatment to those us affected is one of pure contempt, and I won't be giving this awful company a penny more than I have to. I should be able to make-do (about) with my CS5.5 suite for the moment, and will have to look into the free alternatives like DaVinci resolve, Krita, etc.
It won't be long until we have a "Save as a Previously Deleted Copy of a Virtual Clone of the Last Saved Edit That Was Tagged" option.
mind blown loll
😂😂😂
😂😂
If we need a 15minute video on 'Save As' in 2021 then photoshop definitely fucked up and no wonder people hate it.
This is probably the most annoying update they've ever done.
It's probably because they were seeing people make too many quick saving issues, saving the wrong way, so they made it a non-issue....I think
@@jasoncorey easy but still annoying
The recent Line Tool "fix" was also a disaster. I believe that they have people making fixes that haven't worked with the program very long.
You are the best at explaining everything I need to know. The new save features were puzzling to me, but now I got it! Thanks Unmesh!
"Murphy' Law" said it so clearly..."If its' not broken don't fix it" Just adds to my work flow, this is a step backwards. CHANGE IT BACK.
Isn't Murphy's Law "what can go wrong, will go wrong"? still applicable to Adobe lol
@@filmalltay Dont question him
I was wondering about these new save options but didn't know what they meant. I had to save a copy retaining the original but 'save as' wouldn't work like it used to. So, I chose the save a copy option and went ahead. This video is very appropriate and timely. Thanks a ton.
Thank you! I know it's simple enough, but I've been curious! I appreciate your recaps towards the end always.
Great explanation! :) Thank you, bro! Keep it coming!
I like your consistency.. every day around this time you bring some new topic 😀
This was so helpful. I woke up this morning and I was trying to save my image as a JPEG and the drop down arrow was not bringing the usual formats like jpeg, PNG, PDF and so on and I got confused. By try and error I was able to use save a copy but I didn't know what exactly was going on. Thank you so much.
Why do you prefer saving a document in JPEG with "Save As" instead of "Export As"? Just curious
@@PhotoshopSimplified720 I see, thank you.
So for several users like you the issue with the recent changes is that you now have to use "Save a copy" because "Save as" has been changed?
I only use "Save as" to save a PSD working document, so I'm not sure what has changed exactly.
@@PhotoshopSimplified720 I understand now. Thanks a lot 👍
It had me in a cold sweat man. No joke.
Have you tried: Ctrl+Alt+S ? This will offer you the full drop down list.
You...are...awesome!! Well done as always! Thank you, thank you 🙏
Great tutorial 🤘🏻 helped alot differentiating all these things💯
So helpful, especially the tutorial on export.
Brilliant explanation. Thank you!
Once again thank you for sorting through the changes.
Helpful as always! Thanks
Thank you so much big bro. Honestly. Being a Beginner that was honestly the simple most and easy understandable..
thank you very much for clearing my confusion in save, save as, save a copy, and export this is good and helpfull
Searching this topic and just got an idea about the color lookup! fantastic!
Oh, thank you!! I’ve been trying to understand why “save as” doesn’t let me save as jpeg anymore. Now I get it, and actually those changes make a lot of sense, cause it was a little annoying to have to change from psd to jpeg or the other way when saving the work. Now it’s more straight to the point... One saves the processes, other saves the results. Liked it.
You always make things easy!
Thank you so much for your great explanation.
Brilliant video thanks once again
Wait... They did this on purpose? Mental. I actually dialled my Photoshop back a couple of versions to bring back all the file formats in Save As. What were they thinking? It clearly wasn't broken, so didn't require fixing.
He could be a voice of the people and yet he decided to adoctrinate everyone to accept nonsense changes in Adobe software. i wonder why?
@@79sketches sadly there is some truth there.
@EasterBurn did not know it can be done
@EasterBurn haha. I tought it was possible in the "official" way 😅
@EasterBurn you can roll back easy with the license, just go to your adobe cloud app, click on apps, click the 3 dots at the end of the line for photoshop and go to other versions. I did this and went back to 22.3.1 as this new feature was driving me mad as it also broke the interface back to lightroom and would mess up where to save files.
it was very helpful, thank you sir
Great information .
Thank you sir 🥰🥰☺☺👍👍👍
Excellent explanation!!
ive just been using save as copy, because i didnt understand it after the update when they changed it. since save as used to give all the options. thanks for the video
Thank you thank you thank you for clearing this up!!!
i have been wondering about this for sooo long. and export as was especially confusing for me soo amazing video
Yes
OR you can go into settings -> file handling -> check those boxes with "apply copy" and "legacy save as" and use it as always
Adobe going down the wrong road and making things unnecessarily difficult !!!!
i hate that it puts extra stuff on the filename as well
Totally agree! Adobe products cost so much money and they make us spend more time working instead of making things easier! Sooo angry with this bullshit feature! :-!
Thank you so much bro. Take love From Bangladesh ❤️
Very informative
Bravo 👏
I gotta tell you... that's a neat hair style man! Cheers from Brazil!
Thankyou for saving our "as" :)
Thank you so much!
Thanks for turning my day good in the first 15 seconds.
I did now a lot of this but found some good pointers. Thanks! But one thing I find daunting is keeping an organization (folders and naming, dates, locations) of all my textures, photos, graphics... so much stuff. Digging through over 20 TB of stuff is getting to me and then all the updates to LR and PS, I'm constantly updating my images.
Maybe you could do a tutorial on how you manage your work. Again, many Thanks!!
usefull information thank u sir
Thanks for the explanation, Unmesh. I typically export my work from Lightroom as a tiff file. I couldn't understand why I couldn't save it as a jpg as I usually do after processing further in Photoshop.
like always something unique to learn from u
Nice video sir..&.. Thanks for sharing
very good i understand thank you
This was VERY helpful thank you! I kept wondering why is this 300 ppi file in CMYK mode I'm trying to Export As (intended for printing ) ending up creating a jpeg as 72 ppi and switching back to sRGB even though I didn't choose the "save for web" option and when I tried to do a Save As it only had those several file format options. Now I know to choose the Save a Copy AND the Export As is only for the web. I know the difference!! You're a very good instructor breaking things down. I am an Instructional Designer working in corporate and can definitely appreciate well made training!
great Man!!
helped me a lot since its my first time using photoshop
Introduction supr ✨amzng ❤️🤗
Thank you Unmesh! When dealing only with Photoshop this subject is a little complicated, but it behaves as logically expected. However, when bringing files from Lightroom into Photoshop! That needs a tutorial by itself! There are many scenarios, and not all behave logically. For example, some save operations update the Lightroom catalog, but not all, so you have to be looking up when to update it manually. Also, there are 3 ways to send a photo from LR to be edited in PS. If you throw in the different image types, and the 3 save flavors, you get at least 18 different scenarios! Please, help us clarify that.
Current favorite Photoshop peeve; I use maybe 3-4 different file formats at the most, yet every time I use the regular save dialog I have to click a list with 22 different options.
👍
Really it's just adding more steps than required to save as which is obsurd!
Thank you a lot.
Awesome!
Hi All, on photoshop preferences/file handling we have an option called "Enable legacy save as". It get rid of the word "COPY"from the files. we don't need to manually remove them. The only difference is instead of earlier SHIFT+COMM+S you need to go for ALT/OPT+COMM+S. hope it helps.
I owe you
Thank you so much
I absolutely love when Adobe adds more steps to my workflow! Fixing all the problems nobody knew existed! What visionaries. Seriously, do they even use the software they keep messing up?
Great video tks
Very informative. Stay safe
Great video. I've been struggling with this since Adobe screwed things up.
Thanks a lot dude for clearing that up. I spent 30 mins scratching my head when I went to save the other day. 🤣👍🏽
Sounds familiar :-)
Thanks 🙏
Great Video !! I cant use "save as" to save img format from my photoshop after i have updated to latest version photoshop ! This video solve my problem and explain all my question ~ Thanks and appreciated it !!
You made it possible for even a 5 year old to understand not just this video same with others videos as well.
The Best 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you
You said "Hope everything is now clear" It is now clearER.
😂
Thank you for your great videos. What about if you want to save all your work (all layers without flaterning ) into one single RAW document to print or share ?
you made this clear
Thanks Umesh bhai
Many thanks for the very good explanations. But there is one thing which is different when you do an export as against to save as a copy. The (metadata) "TAGS" in the exported as version are not included except the copyright information if you choose that option during the export step.
Sir I am your big fan thanks for this video
How to save a jpeg for print??
Please guide on this too
By far most amazing explanation 💕
Loved it completely 😊
Thanks for the clarifications... I have always just used flatten image and then saved as a new filename with the jpg extension.
@@PhotoshopSimplified720 Yeah, I learned that from over 15 years ago? Probably closer to 20. :) It worked, I never changed.
Nice Bro
Amazing
Yes, it's now clear that this new feature disrupts my workflow.
Was hoping to find something I missed in PS by watching your video, but for now it seems it's better for me to use the previous version.
THANK YOU! I will be using this to send to everyone forever. Until the next version where they add the "Save Also As" option to confuse us further.
Neuman U87 Sounds Great Bro🔥
This class remembered my school life.... Best class dada
You made this literally the day after I spend 40 minutes tearing my hair out trying to save a .png for work 😂 what a silly change for them to make out of the blue!
yeah this was a dumb update if you ask me
Same. Spent ages resaving tons of image variants once I learned the issue was an “update” rather than my file, I had resorted to export as which butchered my png options. Wish there was a proper notification about this.
12:30 the only thing i didnt know. Thanx!
Recently i was looking for the answer and you uploaded this video. I almost believe you can read our mind 😂
thank you for this tutorial, what would happen if I were to work on an image destined for print, CMYK. What is the process to save and maintain the CMYK profile of that in a jpg?
Hello...I also use: Ctrl + Alt + S which offers the full pop-up of choices when saving (I'm thinking this is a valuable shortcut for each option?
PS: Thank you for your continued tutorials and valuable explanations...I expect you had thousands of messages on this matter!
Proud to see a picture from our country Myanmar in this video.
lol...the sensei of PS. Love your presentation. 👏
In Photoshop 22.4.2 it's possible to revert this feature. In Preferences go to File Handling and check Enable legacy "Save As"
Sir , can we use mixer brush tool instead of layer -> invert ->Vivid light -> highpass -> Gaussian blur -> blackmask -> brush for skin retouch ? Which one is efficient and what's the difference... please answer
Sir, 1 video color sense k liye b bana dijiye. Jisse pata chale k kis color k saath konsa color best lagega
Wow. I only just updated a few days ago - thankfully managed to miss this silly feature change. I think I'll hold off future updates for a while.....
thanks for the video. But I want it back to the original settings. Why change something when it didn’t need to be fixed?
Your handwritten letter "s" is beautiful
Thanks to you this makes sense. What doesn't is why? 'Save' and 'Save As' worked just fine as they were. Who seriously asked for the save function to be broken up like this....?
question: when saving as "save as copy", will my file size be diminished? I have to do this in order to have the jpg option, but need my max image quality. Thanks!
Question.. I would like to be able to create 2 copies, 1 for web and 1 for print, in a new ‘final folder’ with a simple shortcut or action… please help me 🙏🏼
there is a question, I can't see save a copy in my photoshop even if I come to the file handling there still haven't had anything to support
thanks this was mind blowing for me haha
We live your videos always.... Sir what is the difference between in save or sa. Ve as standard or progssive
Hi bro in last Photoshop version we having a JPG file to saving our images directly but now there is no any jpj5 how then we can save the completed work
I’ve been using Export As when saving as JPEGs to upload to stock photography platforms, but especially on iStock, I’ve had to add the date on the platform. It doesn’t seem to retain that part of the metadata, even though I click to save the copyright information. Is there some kind of workaround available?
Yes, I can convert the profile to sRGB, flatten the image and save as a JPEG, but that takes longer.
