My friend sprayed Aventus before he met up with me at my house, we were on the road for about 7 miles, we stopped at a light and I can smell it, we were on the freeway for an hour, stopped at an exit light and still got a solid whiff of aventus while I was next to him. People make the mistake of not knowing they have become nose-blind after having the fragrance on for 30 or so minutes and then they write an angry review online. It happens mostly to stronger fragrances. The stronger the smell, the faster you’ll become nose-blind or nose-fatigued. I think if you can smell your fragrance on your clothes the next morning then you definitely know that it lasts and that you were just nose-blind. I have scents that bleed onto my clothes from my skin and make my shirts smell delicious.

The spray test is the only reliable way to know. The first fragrance I ever bought was Azzaro Wanted EDT. Virtually everyone online will tell you that it underperforms, but I've had other people notice 5-6 hours later when I only used 2 sprays. A lot of the internet fragrance influencers, while helpful, have built up a scent tolerance that makes them go nose blind sooner.

I appreciate your posts dude. funny that i never thought to look on youtube for smell-advice. It's an ocean of branding out there in the shops and a new guy to the scene has no idea where to start without this kind of info. cheers from Australia👃👃👍

im very confused abt the 'less is more' concept.
i used to think generally 2,3 sprays r enuf for abt
8 hrs but i think most designer scents need 6 to 8 sprays to last enuf and hv any effect

I got Sauvage EDP sprayed on my wrist yesterday evening at the mall and it’s still on my wrist right now in the afternoon. Dry down smells like smooth Bourbon. I have the EDT but damn does this last long and smell good.

For me, once a fragrance house releases TWO poorly performing fragrances back to back, I never buy another fragrance from that house or even bother paying attention to them. Also, when they reformulate a fragrance and make it weaker, I lose respect and forget that fragrance and the house as well. A house like Jacques Bogart, Amouage, Azzaro, Aramis, Fragrance One, Tom Ford... Almost all of these fragrances have great performance and longevity. I sometimes trust reviewers on RUclips, Fragrantica and Basenotes, but in the end I trust my own experiences and in-store testing that I do myself.

I have Bleu de Chanel EDT made in Spain by Puig and the performance is awful. It fades quickly and does not last more than two hours on the skin.

Good but isn't it better to start by giving the difference between eau de cologne, eau de toilette, eau de perfume extrait de parfum...giving the percentage on the difference on alcohol concentration.
Then give us the details on the aroma with qualities and advantages..that will be more helpful i believe..

Is the Bleu de Chanel EDT much longer lasting than the EDP? I prefer the smell of the EDP but if the EDT lasts much longer I probably will buy EDT.

Another tip that i can give you is when you go to a fragrance shop, test not only the perfumes, but the shop assistant too. Keep in mind a fragrance that performs bad and ask them if it lasts long. If they are honest, good, but usually they lie.

Is Bleu de Chanel EDT really stronger than EDP ? I had it on my shopping list for a while now
Also not all of us get compliments despite using good frags -.- My current main is l'homme Ideal EDP which is known to be an excellent smelling juice and it's long lasting too but I never got a compliment for it

Thanks Jeremy, pleasr a video about tips and tricks for testing projection pleaseeee..
It is a very important subject for me to know about from someone professional and really making me wondering of youtubers saying 1 meter projection or 2 meters and so on....how do they test it? I think not on themselves for sure isn't?
And also the relation between Projection and Sillage please....
Please correct me: a fragrance with excellent sillage is logically an excellent projector isn't? But not vice versa?... please explain...
