I believe at 1:00:25 you were supposed to move Mothman away, since the card says "empty starting space" and that one was not empty. The game's idea mechanically is that you cannot keep him cornered, since he is supposed to move every round.
Love Unmatched and was so excited to see this playthrough! Just a couple small rules notes: 52:00 - Ant Queen's After Combat effect would still trigger, even though she was defeated During Combat. 1:00:30 - "Place" has to go to an empty space, so Mothman would have had to go to a different Starting Space. 1:01:40 - Golden Bat's ability technically adds +2 value to the card, and since Mothman's effect ignores the card's value, it still would have been 0 value. But y'all were crushing it! So these small catches wouldn't have changed the ending. Great video!
Hi Monique and Naveen! Been a long time fan of your channel. For 52:11, I think you still have to trigger the After Combat effect which is to move the Threat track since the Ant Queen still lost the combat. I think it will only matter if the effects says if the opposing fighter is adjacent.
Nice play through. I’ve just got this and I’ve played about 4 times and lost 4 times. 😂 Watching this I’m seeing stuff I was missing that will help. Thx! 🙏
Awesome gameplay! I love this coop game and there's so much variety when mixing in all the other Unmatched sets. Hopefully there will be more bosses that come out later. Question at 1:00:33, wouldn't the Mothman move to starting zone 5 since the card says to move it to an empty starting zone?
Man I love this game. Cant get enough of it! Tales to Amaze is such a great addition. Also, do you two have favorite heroes? I really enjoy playing Houdini lol
If I ever meet Monique and Naveen in person and Monique does not wave enthusiastically at me like a the start of all their videos I will take it as a personal slight.
Monique & Naveen, thanks for playing this, a great video as always! I love the Unmatched series, and I was really excited when this came out, I pretty much got it the day it came out over here. I love what they've done, I feel like it's probably as great as a co-operative version of this series could have been without losing the ability to mix and match all characters from the previous games. I can't wait to see what other enemies they'll come up with :)
59 min mark, Mothman's deception card allowed it to reshuffle it's cards after combat. Because it was used as a defense card, it's after combat would complete first. Followed by Monique's. So she technically would have gotten to look at the top 3 cards and reorganize them.
I took a friend to play this in an Origins event to introduce him to the Unmatched system. Two weeks later and he is hooked. We both prefer the head the head game as well but there are some fun heroes in this set.
i like mechanics in Primal the awakening, where boss has behavior card which reacts to what i do, so maybe Unmached could somehow balance the luck of draw by implementing something similar to coop version.
While Naveen"s point about the villain's actions not being decision-based is valid, I do think that even a human opponent is subject to the luck of the draw. Sure Mothman flipped the worst card (for him) that he could have played, but how often have you drawn into a hand that was all scheme cards, or your only attack is a 1? I think the villain decks do a decent job of simulating that "player" making the best of a bad hand.
Great playthrough, as usual. This game feels a lot like an advanced version of Horrified, does it not? About that critique Naveen made at the end, that the enemies flipping cards randomly feels underwhelming. Wouldn't this be easily adaptable to competitive or team competitive with human players as the monsters? Or would it be too unbalanced towards the monsters at that point?
Yeah you’re right, this cooperative version has that Horrified-ish feel (minus the pick up and deliver aspect). I’d be curious to see if there was a way for the Monsters to be played by a player. Maybe the monster player always has 2 cards in their hand so that some choice can be made?
I bought this and have played both the Mothman and alien invader….its ok. The hype got me. I wish I wouldn’t have bought it. It’s fine but don’t let the hype get you.

Great video. Thank you for playing this. Very entertaining to watch.
Love watching you guys play Unmatched - your Cobble and Fog video got me into the system! Thanks for sharing
I love this game and their many expansions ! Thank you for playing it!

Oooh such a tough choice. I (Naveen) like Dracula and Monique is also a fan of the Houdini/Genie version.
@@BeforeYouPlay Are you going to play/review Slings and Arrows, with the characters from Shakespeare? It's going to be great.
Excellent play through. Very enjoyable

Great play.
I backed the game on Kickstarter and still haven't played it cause I'm too lazy to read the rules, thank you for this video!
Glad we could help! 😃
