I have always heard about the horrible traffic through Atlanta, but you made it seem so easy to drive through there. And it was during the rush hour! Kudos to you and your great driving.
One of the things that I love about your videos is that they give me the feeling that I'm with you on the trip. Can't wait to see day 2. Thank you for posting these videos.
My mam came the other week for dinner and when she saw the length of one of your videos she was shocked, I told her theyre amazing because even if they are like 11 hours long, every minute is fascinating to watch, and so calming as well..thank you for another brilliant video 👍😊
Hi again. Thanks for upload of day 1. Wonderful, sunny weather and warm for march 20th. 🌞In Georgia are many billboards on left and right of I-85. Also very impressive - Downtown Atlanta, beautiful. (Atlanta and Montgomery, two places, one name: Martin Luther King...and of course a lot of history,.) Good luck for next, 👍Robert.
Hi, it´s me, the german 😉 I just began watch your video, wonderful sunny morning in march. Great!! First notice: at 54:25 , you were passing a historic place of civil war. Brandy Station VA. one of the greatest battles, cavalry battle (6/09/1863) bye for now, Robert.👋
Hi, Bobby. Northern Virginia has a lot of Civil War history and memorials. I live in Northern Virginia, so I don't worry about stopping at these sites when I'm doing long road trips like this. I appreciate that you know our history better than most Americans do! That's awesome!
@@unclecoolie thank you! ...next: Charlottesville VA, also a famous historic Town, residence of Thomas Jefferson,...and...and...ok sorry, that´s too much for now. I just want to enjoy your Road Trip(s).☺👍
@@bobby68ify Thank you! I'm finally planning to have the Alabama-to-Texas video uploaded in the next several days. Editing a nearly 14-hour-long UHD video is not easy.
The countryside on highway 28 south in Virginia was nice. I have heard about the traffic through Atlanta and it really is congested. Much like 635 near Dallas but, I think, worse. I’m happy my trip through Atlanta was virtual only.😂 Thanks for the ride!
Thank you! I have taken my family on a few of them, but it's usually much easier to do these by myself because I won't have to stop as often, and I don't have to worry about unwanted conversations being on the video. I have driven my family to Florida this past Spring Break, but I didn't record that trip mainly for those reasons. I also have 2 road trips to Florida, and I did most of that driving during the night (so my kids could sleep through most of it, which they did).
All your videos are excellent!!! So scenic!!! Do you think maybe someday you can drive Interstate 90 in its entirety? It's a trip I myself have always wanted to take and would love to see!
I'm not sure when or if I'll be able to do that type of a drive. I still have the drive back to Virginia from San Antonio video to upload, but I drove through states like Tennessee in that drive.
@@unclecoolie Will you do a road trip from Key West to Barrow Alaska? That would be epic, and I don’t think you’ve been to Alaska before. Vermont’s a nice place, I think you’ll like it,
@@paull2937 I want to do Alaska, and also Hawaii (the only other two states that I've never been to). I'm not sure when I'll be able to do that. I'm hoping in the next year or so. One of the places that I want to visit in VT is Townshend, which is where Funny Farm was filmed.
It was. I spent close to $500 for this trip (including the drive back to Virginia) even though I drove a Nissan Altima that got more than 35 miles per gallon.
I do that due to the fact that I've found that a higher percentage of my viewers are Americans for the real time videos compared to the time lapse videos.
Hi, my question is, will you record the 23.01.22 from Minnieapolis to Cleveland and the 24.01.22 from Cleveland to Washington as Real Time and put it in RUclips? Thanks for that! I would be very happy. Stay healthy and continue good ride. Gruß aus Deutschland Nauen
Eventually I may. The only reason I haven't yet is because I'm really disappointed in the quality of the video from those two days due to the frozen windshield wiper fluid. I will finish my Virginia-to-Texas trip and the return to Virginia trip before I finish the real time of that trip.
I had a chart on the console and wrote down the temperatures that the car was showing about every 15-30 minutes. I made up the chart showing times from early in the morning to late in the evening, so that all I had to do was write the temp. number on the sheet while I'm driving. The Garmin has a temperature sensor, but I could never get it to work in the car because the sensor has to be mounted outside in a safe plate, but the signals become too attenuated to work. Car temperature sensors are often inaccurate, but I would occasionally check my phone to see what the local temperatures were, and usually it showed it being within 1-2 degrees of what the car showed.
If you want to know what the audience want I can tell you. They want no music. They want traffic noise - preferably with the mic outside the car but protected from the wind.
Thank you! I used the Garmin Virb Ultra 30. It came out in 2016, and I got it in early 2018. At the time it was better than the Go Pro, mainly because the Go Pro had overheating issues. I'm not sure if the newer ones still do, but only twice have I had the Garmin shut off from overheating. One of those times was on this trip in South Carolina. I swapped the batter for a fresh, cool one, and I turned up the A/C. and had no issue after that.
I listen to music through my earphones from my phone (low volume so that I can still hear what's going on around me). I do a lot of deep-thinking when I drive long distances.
That was an error. I had a few at the end of this video. These long, real time videos are difficult to QC, because I don't want to spend weeks doing it.
It's supposed to be Huguley, AL. My Final Cut Pro has a flaw in that now and then when I add text, only the first letter shows up on the exported video, even though I can see all of the text in the time line.
Thank you! The camera is the Garmin Virb Ultra 30, which records GPS information. I pick which GPS data I want to add, and then I create the graphic overlays in Photoshop and do all of the editing using Final Cut Pro.
Does anyone know what would be the quickest route to drive from Virginia to texas? Im thinking about moving soon with my 2 cats and am trying to figure out what to do
Hi. I usually drive for pleasure, but sometimes I get to combine business with pleasure, such as this drive. I had to travel to San Antonio for work, so I decided to drive it instead of fly. I just had to pay for the extra 2 days' hotel stays. My company paid for the rental car, gas, and food for the whole trip. Now that I have finally uploaded the Montgomery to San Antonio video in real time, I will be working on the video of the trip back to Virginia from San Antonio.

I like how in the real time videos you use American numbers for speed and in the compressed version you use the other peoples numbers.
Both versions could be used, in miles and kilometres. Already the temperatures are shown here in Celsius and Fahrenheit.
I mean when the system is capable in showing both.
I do that due to the fact that I've found that a higher percentage of my viewers are Americans for the real time videos compared to the time lapse videos.
The way that the camera works, it only shows one type or the other, not both at the same time. Or else I'd have both for all videos.
