One of my neighbors bought a metal 10x10 shed from Lowes. He opened the box and took one look at it and saw that he was in over his head.
It sat under his deck for two years.
Then he sold it to me for half what he paid for it.
I opened the box and it had 50 panels and 1000 screws in the box.
It took me and a helper two weekends to put it together.
The instructions were obviously written by a Chinese person whose English wasn't too good.
It was lucky for me that there was a model of this exact shed set up at my local Lowe's store.
I had to go look at the model a couple of times to figure it out.
I formed up a floor for it out of 2x4s and I dumped in a lot of bags of concrete and added water and I mixed it in place and smoothed it up with a long 2x4.
I caulked and screwed down a pressure treated 2x4 to screw the shed to the floor and to give me another 1- 1/2" of head room inside the shed.
After I got it built I found out that it gets hot as an oven inside.
I got some corrugated roofing and some hat channel and I put a double
Roof on it to keep the sun off of it.
Then I put another layer of metal over the walls too. That made a big difference.
I bought some vents but I haven't put them in yet.
So far it has not leaked.
It was challenging to put together even for someone with a construction background.
You could add a piece of hat channel on the inside walls of that shed to strengthen those sides. It wouldn''t cost much.
    Thanks for the video.

We got a metal shed when we purchased our house. It’s on a concrete slab, and according to google earth, it’s an antique! Very heavy gauge metal, screws everywhere. The door has been reinforced with a bit of lumber at one point, but still holding its own. They don’t make them like that anymore.

Coming from China I have noticed that a lot of things like clothes are very thin and now you're saying that the shed walls are thin that is the problem ordering stuff from China. They don't realize the weather the storms that we get so I tried to avoid stuff coming from other countries. Good luck with your shed

I think this is a cute little shed. It beats the old metal sheds from the 1970s that my parents had; the first strong wind that happened, the shed blew apart and they were outside gathering up the items from in the shed and returning them to the garage, and this was about 2 a.m. I'm going to check them out. I can really use a little shed for my garden supplies.

@@debbielee93 I remember that night quite well because we had just finished assembling the shed that evening and my parents had put the grill, bikes and garden tools in there and locked it up. This shed was about 20 feet behind the 2 car garage and was protected from the north and west by the garage and a triple row of mature pine trees. A gust of wind came and all we heard in the house, about 50 feet away was the sound of metal being crushed and then of metal being ripped apart. In the morning, the only part of the shed standing was one wall panel and where the track had been screwed into the concrete platform. Everything else was gone.

I put up a metal shed last year, camping on newly bought place. I built a foundation 3 blocks high and put up the metal shed on that. Mainly to get a regular 6 foot 8 inch door to go on there. I made plywood doors, with an astragal in the one that doesn't usually open. These sheds are hard to finish inside because the framing is hard to double up with wood for an inner layer. Then, they do leak sometimes. So, they are good for primitive protection. Biggest thing I hate is bang my head on the door frame. I put in the extra height to deal with that.

Danny, I acquired a storage shed once. It came in a box. I opened it up. Took one look at it saw that there was a bag of screws look like about 10,000 of them that’s it. Oh no I don’t have the patience for this thing. I’m not an idiot, but I’m just didn’t want to put myself through that misery. Ended up paying the neighbor kid to put it together for me. Took him about three days to put it together. But like you say they’re kind of flimsy at the end just because they are what they are. I like those Swingin’ Doors, though mine has sliders on it, and they’re always binding up. Thanks for sharing. God bless.

I'll say this about a metal garden shed. My mom and dad moved into a house that had a small garden shed out back. They lived there for 40+ year and both eventually passed away but that shed was still standing last time I passed by for nostalgia's sake. Of course they don't make things like they used to because I have her old washer that is still going after30+ years.

We are looking into sheds now. I have one I have to finish it is a toss up of it's use. But we have chickens and goats. So, we are leaning into the one we are building which is a 4wx12Lx8H for storage of chicken feed, equipment ( feeders, waters, chick starting equipment) bedding, and all. The other shed we are looking for is one we could do some storage for our goats like barn cleaning tools bedding. We have been looking but not sure fully what we want. 🤦‍♀️
But I hope the shed works out good for you guys.🎉
