I get transported back to the 1870s, when Leo Delibes wrote the melody that inspired this theme.
Even to this day, this theme is badass.

I would respectfully disagree and say that Knight Rider was exactly in keeping with its time. Television and film in the 1980s often focused on high tech themes, Knight Rider was about a high tech car, Airwolf and Blue Thunder about high tech helicopters, Street Hawk was Knight Rider on two wheels sans KITT, Automan was a computer generated artificially intelligent being , and then Robocop, Firefox etc.

This show is pure 80s. I never grew up in this time, however my dad did. I'm so happy he showed me this amazing series from the past!
I have 2 sons, I showed them Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazard
It brings me so much nostalgia, a kind of sadness to know that those days will never return and only remain in our memories, but grateful to have belonged as a child to the 80s and 90s with TV series like this one in particular. As a child I wanted a watch like Michael's, today we already have them, and I don't have one because I don't want to hahahaha.

Growing up as an immigrant child I used to watch this show to learn to speak English. I was surprised when I finally learned that his name was Michael Knight and not "micro wave"😅

Back in 1982 we could only dream of a car 🚗 like this. My father had a Ford avenger that use to break down. Only the rich could afford a new car in limerick Ireland back then.😅😊

The show where I found a calling, and my namesake.
It brings back memories. It used to be broadcasted on TV every week in Japan. I couldn’t wait for it every week, it was unbearable. The audio was dubbed in Japanese, but in later years, DVDs were sold in English with Japanese subtitles. I bought the edition, and I was impressed that there was no discomfort between the Japanese and the original actor’s voice quality, which made me feel that professionals are amazing. Both were Michael and KITT.

Sure, the Smokey And The Bandit Trans Am may have had several advantages. However, when one builds a strong association with a status symbol, one can prefer something over another.
The Plymouth Superbird has numerous advantages over the Dodge Charger. However, go see how many people would much rather have a General Lee.
There are plenty of better cars than the Mazda RX7TT and MKIV Supra TT. However, people who grew up around Gran Turismo often have a strong desire for those cars.
Why should I want an R34 GTR so badly? There were numerous AWD turbo Porsches that would outperform it. Well, I suppose none of them were as appealing to look at as an R34 GTR.
NGL. One of my favorite old school 80’s tv show intros. Loved Airwolf and The A-Team as well. But this one was the coolest. And who wouldn’t want a car like KITT? Ahhhhh memories. Good thing I have the whole series on DVD

Wow, brings back so many memories, every Saturday after whose the boss, they would give knight rider...Kid was my dream car at the time...but i loved this show as a kid... ill give anything to relive the 80s and 90s all over again

Came to film to film 1 episode in Hendersonville NC 1 turned into 3 good weather, people, locations. In one episode crossing RR tracks in E flat Rock 2 miles from Hendersonville. A sign says welcome to North Dakota 😂 I met Rosey greir my father drove him around in his hot rod 61 Ford Starliner. Building a sheltered workshop in LA used our shop as a model. My father worked part time for Rosey 2 years and offered a full time job in California running his charities. My father declined. Already had a good job Rosey said Larry can't blame ya. I'll likely end up here when I retire. Good man he loved my fathers small car collection and the 61 Ford was his favorite.
I still love this show and im 43. I even have a pair of Knight Rider Curtains from when i was a kid, toys, models, all the DVDs. ❤❤
