- The $500 million Museum of the Bible opens Saturday in Washington D.C., making it the largest privately-funded museum in the city. A big part of that money comes from the Christian family-run company, Hobby Lobby. Chip Reid reports.

I work at this establishment (and love my job), so let me explain. This is a museum dedicated to the story, and history, of the Bible. It has no intentions of pressing religions on our guests, but to simply educate on the stories, history, and impact of the Bible itself. While Jesus is included, this is not a museum to worship, or praise him. We welcome many different religions, and people of all regions.
It exceeded my expectations. I went there around 5 pm and didn’t have the time to look at all of the exhibits. There were huge crowds, which surprised me. My family and I will be coming back.
Just visited this beautiful museum. God bless all who've provided their means to build this. Can't wait to go again! Jesus is king!
I'm going to see it with my wife this Dec 2017.
First time came across it. Sure would love to go and visit this Musium. One snag live in England.
I’ve been three times and never get tired of it. If you ever make it to DC, I highly recommend it
W.D.C. could use some light. Light from above. Praise to Our Lord !!!!
Thanks for letting us know about this new museum in DC.
God is great!
Rolf Leseratz so you think Bible stories are fairy tale ?
I WAS planning a 2 hour trip to bring my family to see & tour this museum and pay homage to my Lord and my God, Jesus Christ.
Shame on them and their business donors for minimizing Jesus, God Almighty! The planners of this museum intentionally decided to remove Jesus from His rightful glory. So, I will NEVER set my foot in this building until Jesus is depicted on His rightful throne there. Jesus is the Name above all names!
Jesus IS NOT just some "character" in a book of tales. Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega.
According to your famous fictitious book of parables, "god" is the alpha and omega. Not mary's son.
wes alker
You are apoarently spreading Talking Points to advance your religion of non belief. Before you cimment, try studying the Word if God and you'll discover how wrong you've been.....
Well Jesus was inserted and the original name was deleted . Jesus was a made up name. This info was stolen from kemet and rewritten by poets and many men to deceive.
@@wesalker3479 He, Jesus, was with God in the beginning and will be forever, so He is the Alpha and Omega. The Word says, There are three that bare record in Heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one.
I’m going to see it now!! Great!
I am so excited about this project my family plan on attending bc we read KJV Bible and I have read the whole Bible several time! That is my favorite book to read! GOD bless you allllllĺlll!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Fear is probably one of the greatest human handicaps.
I know what you mean but fear can also stop you stop you cuddling polar bears of course I personally no not to cuddle polar bears with or without the fear
@@eastanglianlife5461 bwahahahaha!!! I would hope that decision involves common sense considering Polar Bears are actually one of few KNOWN human predators...
I went Saturday. Beautiful building.... that's all I got
I'd love to visit one day......🙏.📖🙏
I heard that Jesus Christ is barely mentioned there.. The entire New Testament is about Him. So while trying not to offend anybody you offend True believers. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Jesus actually said this. I wonder what all He ment by it?
This is another cover up.
They just stated the left said the museum is Evangelical propaganda and the Evangelicals said there isn't enough Jesus. So it's in the middle.
They inserted Jesus. That wasnt 5he Original name
ruclips.net/video/TowAy2plUvY/видео.html
hendrix3081 So there is enough info to start from. One thing for sure it can't be debated. Truth is there.
We are coming from Ukraine to see it.
Cant wait to see it!!! If we aren’t raptured away first.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍👍🙏🙏🙏💖💖💖
It's only "controversial" when Christianity is involved! What makes Hobby Lobby's sponsorship of this project so :controversial"? "Controversial".........a word liberals apply to anything they don't like!
They stole archeological artifacts.
I'd love to see this.
What the evangelist don't realise it is not a museum about Jesus as such it is a museum about the whole Bible including the obscure bits I hope
Bet its different with now on bible!!.. 😂😂😂
Did you hear him say that the people say,"there's not enough Jesus in this museum." That's because His name wasn't Jesus. You will never find a white blue eyed stringy hair man name Jesus on any of the original texts.
Exactly his name is Yahawashi
I want go Museum of the Bible
The Bible is a blessing from JeHoVaH !! John 17:3
This is funny
No barcodes...
I really don't understand how Christians or biblical believers could think spending 500 mil on a museum is better than helping the community and those in need. Seems incredibly anti christian to me. Do they allow homeless to stay there for shelter?
You should read the building of the Jewish Temple of Solomon. Lata poor around then to. Good thing people in the ancient world didn't think that otherwise they wouldn't have anything to put in the new Museum. Some how the wealth displayed in the Temple of Solomon glorified God and at first gathered more wealth .... People from all the nations might come and spend money and the Prophets will be given to charities. Even the business near it gain business . that is he way it works. It is better to give people careers than money.
holiday311: "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God" - Matt 4:4. The soul needs food just as the body does.
How do you know that didnt spend 10x that amount on the poor! Relax....so you hate god... wats new?
@@truethinker221 this museum is intended to show the history and story of the Bible as well as archaeological evidence and it’s influenced throughout world and American history. And Christians do focus on helping their communities, and this week zoom is one of the ways they did that
For those who have visted....did they include the Book of Enoch as well?
The book of Enoch is not scriptural. See my videos on the subject.
It is not considered part of the biblical canon so it’s not included
Why did god create Satan?
That's a really good question. "Satan" is actually a Hebrew word (שָׂטָן) which means "the one who opposes" which is the title given to the angel Lucifer after he chose to rebel against his creator. God values free-will over perfection, so he allowed Lucifer to make the decision to deny God and leave his home in heaven (sending him to Earth). A good way to wrap your mind around this is to imagine raising a child whom you love very much, yet decided in his/her teenage years to rebel against you and "oppose" you. You love him/her, so you give them the free will to make their own choices instead of being a tyrant and demanding that they follow you explicitly. Hope that helps, even if your comment was intending on poking holes in Christianity. ✌️
@@Adam-bj5vx you know Satan was still going into heaven to report to God ???? He was in heaven when God asked him did he test Job yet to see where his faith is
Yes, you’re right. My theology has come a long way since then. Satan wasn’t banished to earth, but was given a false throne as the “prince” of this world until the second coming of Christ. I believe that the devil and his angels, along with God and His angels, are all existing within the same plane which is imperceptible to the human eye. God is the most powerful (all powerful) but he delegates authority to His created beings which is why we see a “divine council” so to speak in Job and other sections.
@Brandon Thanks for the comment! 🙂👍🏻
He was created to be a ministering spirit for man, but in his envy and jealousy he rebelled. I recently did a video on when was Satan cast out of Heaven that explains in more detail this subject. Check it out.
JWs, Jehovah's Witnesses, are the only religion I know of all I have ever seen, which teach and also actually put into practice what the Bible teaches, which is true. And look I already analyzed many. They themselves have a little booklet that talks about all the religions that exist, and how to identify which one does what God wants. The other religions I know only deceive people, confuse them and lead nowhere. I know this because I read the Bible, and I know which ones do and don't do what it says. It is because of this. Hugs.
What a waste of money for a Bible museum
Prais God Amen🙏😇
Wish they could the prophet Amos
Why does everything have to be controversial?
Stealing archeological treasures is controversial?
$500 million could provide the whole homeless community in the city an enormous amount on fish, bread and shelter, but alas, Christianity is more interested in showing a lie, then telling the truth.
Our government spends trillions of dollars each year trying to be our God and yet homeless people are everywhere.
This museum is intended just to show the history and story of the Bible. It’s not meant to push any religious narratives. And 500 million could not provide the whole homeless community with food and shelter. There were tons of charities in Washington DC that have raise more than that and still there’s a homelessness problem. I fail to see the point you’re making here though
@@warrenrhinerson6373
Here's the problem, their defiantly still pushing a "religious" narrative because the "new testament" was added by Rome 700 years after the last prophet Malachi, the "new testament" does not belong with a book that was known as the Tanakh before Rome changed the name to "old testament", called both books the "bible" to complete their religious deception.
Hosea 13
4 Yet I Am YHWH thy Elohiym from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but Me: *for there is NO saviour beside Me.*
And 500 million dollars would not only be enough for DC's homeless community, its enough for several homeless communities.
@@TheZenGarden_ that’s actually not true at all. The New Testament not only does belong in the religious text known as the Bible, it was also not added by the Romans 700 years after the Old Testament was completed. In fact the New Testament‘s oldest copy is from 140 BC, and the Romans were actually destroying copies of the New Testament manuscripts when they were discovered because the Romans did not tolerate Christianity the same way they tolerated Judaism. God himself also talks about a messiah, in the Old Testament multiple times. And that the Messiah is going to be part of God himself. Jesus is widely considered to be the prophesies Messiah. They also again aren’t pushing a religious notion. I’ve been to the museum three times and they do talk about some of the stories in the Bible, but mostly talk about the archaeological evidence for the Bible, the influence that has had over the last several thousand years, and the struggle of putting the Bible from Greek Latin Aramaic and Hebrew into common languages like English and German
@@TheZenGarden_ forgot to mention this, but we also know that the New Testament does belong in the Bible with the Old Testament as Jesus himself is directly referenced several areas of the Old Testament. In the book of Isaiah for instance his birth and early ministry is directly referenced and his death is referenced in the book of psalms. Both of which were written about 1000 years before Christ was born.
Atheists would not criticize if the museum were related to atheism..
Of course not. Truth rather than lies, myths and legends.
mrsbrown andhercat good thing the Bible is truth
Greatest work of fiction, ever written, gets a museum. When do we get one for Harry Potter?
wes alker There’s Harry Potter’s world in California.
Too late.
Museum of ignorance.
Isn't that the Smithsonian?
Gotta keep the demons out.
Yes agree
No mention of Jesus?
Go pound sand
Nothing is impossible to GOD of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob worship
Nothing except peace.
It's a museum displaying the smuggling criminality of the Greene family. Hopefully it does as well as Ken Ham's noahs ark museum.
Your saying that smuggling is bad or wrong in some way? By what standard do you conclude what is right or wrong?
The Noah's ark museum is cool. You should go there.
Tengoken: I would like to know more about the so called "smuggling" that CBS (red flag there!) reports on! Hmmmmm. The MSM reporting on Christianity. I wonder, would there be any bias???
Thieves.
Read Obadiah chapter 1
The god of Abraham is an immoral monster. Does it point that out, or pretend otherwise?
The Holy Bible is from God, I have daily need of His Book Of Life.
The crappy Museum was slapped together by men, I have no desire whatsoever to visit it.
We all need the wisdom contained in this precious book, no one needs the museum except maybe greedy shareholders.
Interesting fact about the Bible, it has survived countless attempts to eradicate it from this Earth. The Bible has been attacked by governments, dictators, radicals you name it, the Holy Bible will remain on this Earth as long as mankind endures. It is God's Living Word and man is absolutely unable to remove it from this Earth.
So true
Exactly how can a book that has proven and correct prophecies in it be fake
@@brandonsanders8517
What prophecy? If you do mention 1. Exactly how many times does A prophecy gets full filled? Hmmmmm?
Ctfu! Slapped 2gether. Correct me if I'm wrong didn't the KJV get Slapped 2gether by a MAN. Smh,,,the ignorance is real.

Half a billion? On this horror show?
6 million children starved to death before they reached the age of 5 last year. You could have given each one of them $83.33 or you could starve half of them just to keep Jesus from throwing a fit and give the remaining infants, babies and toddlers $166.66 each. These would be known as "miracle" or "saved" children.
Giving every single one of those people $83 would not of solved hunger. War Lord‘s constantly a horard food and medical supplies and use areas and is the number one reason why so many people start to death before the age of five. Another reason is because they live in overly powered authoritarian, like North Korea. This museum normally provides jobs for community, but allows people to see the influence the Bible has had throughout world history, its archaeological evidence, and how one of the most important books ever has been translated in the struggle that has been getting that translation in modern languages
King James wrote the finest homosexual poetry of his days. Can we consult his gay poetry in the museum?
