Several weeks after Kia Australia initiated a captivating promotional campaign for its forthcoming pickup truck, there is still ongoing controversy about the chosen name. However, it is now confirmed that the automobile would indeed be named Kia Tasman, as originally speculated.
Kia introduced a brand called Tasman last year, which was inspired by the Tasman Sea situated between Australia and New Zealand. And motivated by the navigator Abel Tasman, who made the discovery of the island nation of Tasmania in Australia.
The name "Kia Tasman" was ultimately selected and considered appropriate for this vehicle, highlighting Australia as a crucial market for the expansion of this double cabin pickup.
Kia Australia proposed the name 'Tasman' to the Korean firm, which was chosen from a pool of names gathered from several international markets.
