1995 Toyota Supra MkIV [JZA80] - Brians 10 second car
It was rented from the technical advisor on the film, Craig Lieberman. Performance mods include a 2JZ 3.1 engine swap, Turbonetics T-66 ball-bearing turbo & Delta II wastegate, RPS stainless steel/HTC-coated custom header, NOS 100-hp NOS system, AEBS turbo downpipe, GReddy Power Extreme Exhaust, Pro-Fec B boost controller, Airinx intake, Clutchmasters stage III racing clutch, an 11-pound billet flywheel. and an Eibach coilover suspension. Appearance mods include M5Tuners 19" Dazzle Racing Hart rims, and custom graphics.

Driver of the Ferrari F355 is the co-producer of “The Fast and the Furious” franchise Neal H. Moritz. The Ferrari F355’s price at launch was about $137,000 whereas the customization of the 1994 Toyota Supra MK IV, according to Jesse estimate, has cost about $15,000. So Ferrari driver was right about Brian not being able to afford his car.

One of my fondest memories is when I'd used to love seeing the Fire Sunburst Orange 4G Eclipse GT commercial that used to come on and I loved seeing it Everytime it came on lol. Undoubtedly, this is one of my favorite scenes in the franchise. Because this scene represents what tuning is. Modding cars to be more fast and unique.
From what I understand the Supra could already hold it’s own against supercars straight out the factory.
@@Bucketheadhead the Mk4 supra had the 2jz engine, which it was very robust and it can handle a lot of power without touching the internal components. From factory had 320hp, and with a few touches you can increase the power to 500hp. Which is incredible for a 6-cylinder engine. Even today is amazing that this engine can handle that amount of horsepower. If you want more of 500hp you need to change the turbo, flash the ECU, and other stuff.
Dom and his team heavy modified their cars, makes sense honestly. As a kid I was always like no way that car is beating a Ferrari, until I grew up.

*Tokyo Drift:* The Supra from 2 Fast makes cameo appearances during the scenes in the garage
*Fast & Furious:* Same as Tokyo Drift. One is also seen in the flashbacks of Letty's death
*Fast Five:* Santos drives one at one point. He crashes it into a wall
*Furious 7:* One appears at Race Wars and Brian drives one at the end of the movie

I love how fearless Brian is in this scene. The wind at his hair. His facial expressions. Dom scared but then getting hyped. The roars from the engines and also the soundtrack by Saliva. There are so many details in this scene that it's worth every penny of time you spend watching when you click the replay button!

Fun fact: The engine/turbo sound of the '95 supra in the movie was mostly raw sound, that's how modified the car was. This scene the sound is unmodified, but in stunt scenes the car's sound is modified because the stunt doubles were stock other than the bomex kit, Hart M5 wheels, and the big APR wing.
Brian really showed Toretto what he was made of here.

I love the times when this franchise used to be about cars and street racing now its just turned into gta in real life with those ridiculous stunts.
From Street racing movies with a cops and robbers feel to heist movies that also feature street racing to straight up action movies with lots of car chase scenes to vehicular stunt movies featuring explosions and gunfights with presumably some kind of story linking it all together but nobody really gives a damn anymore.
Man even GTA stunts are more realistic than those in the shit they've been putting

That is one of my favorite scenes, second only to dom vs brian supra vs charger. This scene reminds me of my father and I. He terrorized the streets in his suped up duster in the late seventies then he passed the torch to me when I built my shadow Shelby Z with 400+ horsepower motor cuz he had doms look on his face when I took him for a ride in it 😳😎
This is low key the best race in the entire franchise, no quarter mile run that magically takes over a minute, no crazy nitrous blasts, no crazy special effects, just 2 cars going on green.

god i never get sick of this scene. its such a simple race too, they leave the light, go over the yellow once to pass two cars, and go to gapplebees. but its SO intense and badass. it's realistic stuff filmed well instead of unrealistic stuff filmed meh.

@@hellhound1389 Back in 90s a well tuned Japanese Supra would destroy your 400 hp sub car. They are literally monsters with 1000 horsepower. Nagata Smokey's GTR R32 hit 200 mph in 21 seconds, faster than the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. (22.2s) And Nagata did it in the early 90s.
I waited since this movie came out in 2001 to drive an MK4 Supra and today my dream came true and I did! Had to come back to watch this scene!!! Also got to visit California 4 years ago and got to visit the area on PCH where this drag race was filmed as well as the restaurant!
