Episode Six was a British pop-rock group active during the mid-1960s. The band did not have commercial success in the U.K, releasing nine singles that all failed to chart,[1] but they did find minor success in Beirut at the time.[2]:49 The group is best known today for being the band that Ian Gillan and Roger Glover left in 1969 to join Deep Purple.
Why wasn't Sheila Carter a much bigger name , incredible singer😎
Most definitely !
An inspired band that sounded good, then, and now!
That's about the best version of that song I've ever heard...
Absolutely 😳 👏👏
I still prefer Gene Pitney version.
YES
Fabulous, thanks for sharing. Sheila Carter was under-rated.
Doktor Uzo, you are absolutely right!
This here is by far my favorite version of the song.
Andy Mangele: I've heard a foreign version of this song with completely different lyrics. Do you know who the original is from if not this group? Would love to know because both this and the foreign one I heard are excellent (as most music from '67).
It's been written by the songwriter duo Cook/Greenaway
and Gene Pitney was the first one to score a hit with it!
@@jamesaron1967 Is it the Window Speaks, a German group, who did a cover

Totally agree . Great voice
Back again to hear this incredible version of this song .absolutely the best 😎
Ian Gillan The Voice, Deep Purple The Rock
Well no, here he's clearly not the one who's singing....
@@Retroscoop Yes, it's just his screaming at the end.
best version ever !! absolute fire ,💪
Absolutely brilliant best version ever 😎
Yes!! That voice!
Um...no. GP any day.
Good singing
Great voice ..💖💖💖💖
Excellent version of my favourite song, which originally is more like an Italo hit. But this is pure 60's beat. Frenetic.
Brilliant version of this song
Sheila's got a great voice
Like the call and response with Ian Gillan
Very good...great scream from Gillan at 3:51
Must be the first Gillan scream on record.
@@larteonceagain Definitely not the first, but maybe recorded for the first time - the first time they don’t scream like that.
A very great A5
very very good all.....................................
As of 17/02/2021 there is 17,435 views of this vid. Sooo not goood 'nuff world. Wake up n smell those Episode Six roses. I just have and now am ashamed of my lack of knowledge. Wow did Episode Six give 'Something's gotten hold of my heart' written by and and originally recorded by David and Jonathan, and then Gene Pitney in 1967, the complete utter ultra MAKE OVER! Superb version that should have scored more success in the charts.
Good version....👏👏👏
like the vocals!
she sounds a lot like grace slick to me.great version!
She also sounds like Julie Driscoll
Or like the singer of It's a beautiful day on steroïds.....
You can hear Episode Six’s influence in the first three Deep Purple albums.
Those without Gillan and Glover ???
Deep Purple were a construct of plagiarism and hot air.
Thank you for uploading this!!
Aww Mannnn. I wish there was a vid...
Superb
Alguien, en ese momento se imaginaria lo que Ian llegaría a ser?, seguro que ni el mismo. Wow ;-{D
This song would fit very nicely with some of the songs that Fleur de Lys did with Sharon Tandy on vocals. Except, this is way more soulful than those particular songs with Fleur de Lys.
Glover was sixteen years old?
in 1967 he was 22
Ah come on, by now you can a) look it up all by yourself on Wiki and b) do some maths: 1967-1945 = ?
But Michael Schenker was 16 when he joined UFO. And Steve Winwood was only 15 when he joined the Spencer Davis Group...
He hás a Lot of beird in his face though
Glover was one hairy fook.
Vanilla Fudge...
The only reason anyone remembers Episode 6 is because Ritchie Blackmore and Jon Lord pinched their lead singer and bass player.
Oh dear. They kind of butcher it. My dad wrote the song and I love it of course but this is pretty dire. I own a Episode Six 45. I can see through you which is good psych. This is tripe though.
what the f*ck is this ???
