I do think it is too early to hearld Metformin as an anti-ageing drug as more comprehensive studies are needed. Metformin, especially in the last 2-3 years has been celebrated as this in broad stream media.Here I think is a good discussion.It is rather lengthy, however, you can skip to the conclusion which I do agree with: www.karger.com/Article/FullText/502257.
whew, I was really worrying because I am on Max dose of Metformin, and my daughter in law's dad got dementia, but also drank 3 drinks a day. It also helps with my weight.
Hello, my mother, who is 85, has been on this drug about 10 days 2 x 850 mg tablets a day. The doctor has taken her off it today because of her nausea and sickness. She had her last tablet about 13 hours ago. Do you have any idea how long it will take to get out of her system? Or how long will sickness continue? She's still being sick now and has hardly eaten in the last four days. She also has developed delirium. Thanks.

I am glad you pointed out the cost of tests.Same applies to Vitamin D testing.I get a Vitamin B12 as well as Vitamin D as part of the set of labs with all my patients, at least annually.I do think the benefits here outweigh the risks(and cost).When the goals of care change, especially towards the end of life these tests are less consequential.

My doctor gave me 500mg metformin and dolo neurobion 500mg it gave me terrible neuropathic headaches I stopped the dolo neurobion.Can metformin cause pancreatic cancer?
