bcoz the transfer were not connected to main gearbox, this system use split transfer case same as older Suzuki jimny or samurai..But the bushing holding the transfer were little weak.
@@ycs1466 no shit Sherlock. There's still no reason for the transfer case to be shaking THAT bad. There's more than just "weak" bushings going on here.
At 2:59 the transfer case is about to exit the vehicle. While the idea is awsome a few of the set ups have left some crucial parts in very vulnerable places. I would never want my caliper lower than the axle. And with all the aftermarket stuff the shock mounts should be moved up. And unless their running Mirfields those Birfield axles will need attention before long.
Supporting mods are always left unspoken in a lot of "jdm" vehicle modification ads or whatever you wanna call this... These are incredibly light trucks tho they make a Hilux look like a dam full size...
Nice, but the transfer case vibrate under stress like it isn't hold on on nothing. Should think to wrap it round in some anti vibration, anti wrap support.
Did anyone else see the terrible vibration on the vehicle driveline at 0:23-0:27? That will be a weak point no doubt. And again at 2:55-3:00? What was it, the transfer-case? That need to be secured. Otherwise one may have a mechanical failure way out in the boonies. And what a pain that is. You can also see the rear driveshaft doing the shimmy at 4:25-4:35. That is not a vibration that would be acceptable to me off-road.
Nice build and video. Did anyone else notice the extreme amount left right vibrational movement on the transfer case and drive shafts during the underbelly shot. I'm hoping he just had some mounts break loose, because if not.... WOW! I can't believe it will last long like that
Might want to do something about a transfer case mount and cross member . Looks like its going to fall out on the ground the way it is flopping around under there
Thanks for all the comments! I explained it several times, but I couldn't take measures for the transfer case on the day of shooting. First of all, I gave priority to shooting. Now all the measures have been completed. Expect the next version!
How about an EV Conversion removing the engine and putting the Mitsubishi PHEV rear motor sideways in place of the transmission/transfer box thus powering the front/rear axels, and 2 Mitsubishi PHEV battery packs...

Trying to think why they left it like this - do you feel the play would absorb torque therefore increase the life of the Tcase? - at the cost of putting more strain on the more affordable, robust component @unijoints? or am I completely wrong - never owned an AWD or looked into them much
This vehicle have a cabin,a top and a heat,no rain on a head and a snow to,a rear box,a good suspension and long to.I like this mini truck, good video,i live in Quebec Canada i dont have in my country because i buy one.
Japanese light trucks have a mid-engine engine in the center of the car, like a sports car, so they are more stable than you might think, but even Japanese people don't like the cramped interior!😢❤
Now you guys need to make a transfer case that isn't flopping all over like a fish out of water. And your steering knuckles won't last 2 hours of off roading with that much strain put in those tiny un captured knuckles and baby ball joints. The portal axle itself it very cool though.
Damn it. Everytime I go and build stuff someone comes out with it in a kit. I had to hunt down so many things to cut, weld and fabricate just to build my mini truck up like this.
Agree, first thing i spotted(at 26 seconds in, worse at 4.26), sure looks like it will not last long doing that dance, i would expect a snapped driveshaft real soon, or transfer to tear off its mounts.
I would understand portals on a cruiser though on a 1500-1,000cc engine and a 12-14 inch rims might be usable though limitation on the motor though on a k-class truck it seems pointless as I really doubt there is enough power in the engine to support driving portal axles, at a standard 4x4 setting you be as the max capacity of the diffs anyway..
Transfer case just about shakes itself to bits .
i was just about to say the same thing lol god damn!! lol
I was really hoping I wasn't the only one that saw that...

@@jonjacob1962 search about jimny transfer case vibration, common problem of this type of transfer case.
The way the transfer case shakes is terrifying!
The center diff is wobbling all over the damn place man!
I thought you were being picky but damn. It looks like those videos of washing machines with bricks in them
At 2:58 😱😱😱!!!
2:58 .025 speed .. Check out that transfer case shimmy... Put some shock absorbers on that divorced unit to soak up some of the oscillation.
Built different.
2:58 next product, a bracket to reinforce the mount for the transfer case.
i know right i had to look at that like 5 times

why on earth would they keep that shot?

I thought that was a muffler shaking but it was the transfer case

that is the new vibration option! :-) nothing a few zip ties and duct tape could not hold
Ya that thing was dancin for sure

That transfer case sure shakes and shimmy’s, portals are the best
I agree. I need improvement.
Love it tho!
might wanna add a few more bungie cords to that transfer case mount
That transfer case shake tho Jesus man
this is what i was thinking wowza how long will it last
looks like they divorced the transfer case, and its chain driven from the trans.
まるで小さいウニモグ、ミニモグだね、かっこいい!
まんまそれな
that transfer case sure does need a stabilizer or two... 2:55
すごい、、こんな世界があるとは。。 本当に驚きました。
I don't care what anybody says negative about those trucks, i think they are amazing, it's incredible the mods that can be done to them. 👍👍👍🍻
Check out that transfer case movement. Holy crap. How does it not snap drive lines ?
Lol. Shiat is gettin wild.
You need to reinforce the transfer case mounting. 👍🏼
That transfer case don't look like it's going to last. LOL! I would like one of these tho.
2:57 you need to made a transfer case craddle mount able to eliminate that shaking
That transfer case was jumping 4 inch's left to right trying to come out, needs better mounts
Love the sound from those mini crawlers
That transfer box looked like it was coming off. Still very cool though
I'd say it looks like it was coming off see that thing shake. Maybe the drive axle was bent Bent That's not gonna last long shaken like that.

Am I the only who caught the transfer case shaking like crazy ?? At the beginning of the video. 🤔
Dis u guys see that transfer case doing the wiggle dance at the beginning? That under shot...?? Lol. Wow. May wanna brace that thing. Cool truck tho!
very nice T-Case vibration....

I am so glad I found this channel. I was thinking about buying one of these mini truck and doing this very samething
but now you woke up & bought an 80 series,or gu trayback.. this is garbage..
I love these trucks and videos I just wish I could get these guys to answer my questions
Ok I want one of these but I also want it to be a sleeper in the back
Your Transfer case is shaking like its about to explode.
Umm....in the intro was the transfer case shuttering like crazy?!?!?!
That jumped out at me too. Definitely going to have issues with that! Needs a cross member, or skid plate mount.
Those portal axles are really quite neat and hopefully not too heavy!
They certainly improve the minimal clearence of the Kei trucks!
ジムニーも良いですが、そこを敢えて軽トラってロマンもあるでしょ(オフのバイク積めますし)
Check the transfer case mounting. Its jumping a lot
Holy crap did you see the transfer case at 0:25?!? I suspect imminent explosion!

What's with the transfer case at 2:58 !!!???
2:58 Things are getting shaky for that transfer case 😂😂
It’s crazy these things way less then civics
really cool, next upgrade, T case bracket
Look at that transfer case shaking at the three minute mark. That’s kind of spooky.
Legit re watched it a few times. Bushings made of bubble gum
This setup on a 6x6 crawler would be my dream
Holy driveline vibration!
I would love to own one of those trucks. They would make a badass side by side
2:57 ... Are transfer cases supposed to wobble back and forth 3 inches every time the driveshaft goes round?

Cool looking but that transfer case is a future grenade, near future.
no expert here... that transfer case has a lot of play check the brackets on it they are kaput
good lord at the end it looked like it was about to sling the t-case
wow , Tcase is going to break , vibration must be terrible .

Looks as if that transferase is about to JUMP out of the truck!!! Why does it jump around like it isn't attached to anything???
Couple of Toyota 8" axles and proper driveline angles, and that would be a very fun durable truck.
Why does the transfer case shake so much....!? @2:56
Bad driveshaft angles prolly
They need to fix that shit

Save for the sambar, who's engine sits directly over the rear axle
Are the transfer case mounts made of rubber bands!? Because that thing is bouncing around like it does!
Awww it's like a roller skate with a roll cage.
What's up wiuth the transfer case wiggle
