A garden in winter has its own stark beauty. I love the idea of dipping stems in cement and painting them. Your homestead is so beautiful and peaceful! Thank you for this treat!
What a beautiful place you both live. The silence is wonderful. We too have a bird counting week end here in the UK. My grand daughter and I count them every year. We have noticed that since our lockdowns there are many more birds.
What a peaceful and beautiful garden, winter, spring, summer and fall. I actually love the garden in winter, and love that you feed the birds too. Thanks so much for the tour. What a treat for all of us. And it's so much fun watching Helmer bound through the snow. He seems to enjoy himself so much. 😊
Love being with you as you take a stroll through your garden, you both are kind wonderful humans and I feel very privileged to be able to watch you both and learn also the knitting styles you have. Thank you❤️
When you were talking about the birds on Wednesday I was thinking about how there were no birds around here this winter. On Thursday morning the birds woke me up with their singing lol. It always makes me so happy to hear the birds in the morning because it makes me think that Spring is here. It's been a very warm winter here with no real snow, just an inch or two that disappeared right away. I enjoyed the tour of your winter garden. I don't have a garden anymore since I live in a condo now. All I see is my balcony, the building across the street and a small patch of sky. I don't even get to see the moon and the stars, and I used to open my front door every night and watch the sky. Still, I'm so happy not to have the big house to clean or the yard work to worry about. It's tough being older and alone and I'm so happy that Sit and Knit For a Bit is back! You're my companionship.
The garden looked good in the snow. Thanks for showing us around. Not getting a lot of snow can be a problem. Snow protects the plants. And it waters the garden. We didn't have much snow last year we lost quite a few plants. Our neighbours lost trees. Then in the summer there were a lot of forest fires.
Enchanting Garden in Winter episode! sounds like the chickadees were waiting for their food ! The birds are hungry here in Michigan this winter too. Love your mittens, Carlos and your gloves, Arne....Magical
Thank you for showing us your beautiful garden in the winter. I have never seen a tree bend over that far without breaking. It is a very unique tree. Love your channel.
I am slowly watching all your old videos and thoroughly enjoying them all.......what took me so look to find you I don't know. You guys are brilliant, thank you for sharing your life with us.
Arne, I am so much like you - I would be filling those feeders, too! You have to do what you have to do when you have the chance to do it! We count birds December 14 to January 5th.
Thank you for the tour of the winter garden. One thing I love is the various shapes, and textures found in the winter garden. I believe the terminology for the mask is "lifecasting". Very "artsy"
This was a breath of fresh air. I found myself looking at the low sun in the beginning and wondering about the time of day. As we moved through, it became evident that light was fading. Our birches were hit years ago in an ice storm. All along the edges of the lakes were white arches, bent double to the ground. They did not recover, and for years we’d look at them and think of that terrible ice storm. Birch is simply the best in the fireplace.
After a weekend of storms and lots of rain and it's still raining...I dream of snow. Rain is getting so boring after a while...as snow is like a fairytale. Thank you for the garden tour. Even in winter it looks interesting. Wishing you a lovely new week, enjoy your hot chocolate and see you Wednesday ❤
If you bent tree is a birch it may never straighten. We have one that survived an ice storm about 15 years ago and she still bends over at the top... no problem just interesting. Love the walk in the winter garden. It has its own beauty with the contrast between the different tree and scrub barks against the white snow. It is also a reminder that spring and summer will return and everything will leaf out as the downside of winter has begun.
I’ve been to Mohonk Mountain House. It’s spectacular! Most people think of the city when they hear New York mentioned. But upstate New York is so wildly beautiful. The Catskills and the Adirondacks… the lakes, all that natural beauty. I’m a city bred native New Yorker. If I had grown up in the north, I would probably still be there. 🤔
Thanks very much for the winter garden tour. Remembering your garden in the summer a few years ago it’s so different. I too visited my neighborhood public garden this weekend. The Camellia trail was still blooming which is such a joy. No snow here but still a winter garden A delight with the promise of spring.
Arne talks about putting a cross in the garden. When we look toward the house, we SEE the cross in the windows! I think a cross would echo that quite nicely. Thank you for the tour!
Hi Arne & Carlos. Thoroughly enjoyable stroll around your winter garden - thank you. I think everybody’s winter has been topsy-turvy this year. We haven’t had that much cold weather in the UK especially where I live in Kent. But saying that, we’re just about to get our third storm in a week. We’ve had Storm Dudley, Storm Eunice and now Storm Franklin. We’ve had very high winds and damage to life and property. I know some other countries in Europe have suffered too. Stay safe everyone. Sending love from the UK 🇬🇧
Thank you for showing us your garden. It was lovely. I like that you took the stones from the roof and used them in the garden. Good Idea. Have a great week.
I sometimes wonder how you found such a beautiful spot. The mountains all around, the lake, the growing things in season - it's just beautiful. And all the work and money you've put into making it a delightful home too - thanks for showing us how different it is this year!
I love Birch wood for our fires. We have a wood burning stove in the living room that is enamaled cast iron; brick red. All your shrubs and trees are dormant. They push out new growth when the Spring arrives and the temperatures warm up. I love your winter garden!!
One of our local botanical gardens has some mesmerizingly, gorgeous kinetic wind sculptures, designed by the artist, Lyman Whitaker, throughout the gardens. I cannot visit without wanting to have one of my own. They blend in with the surrounding nature so beautifully. They would look lovely in your garden. 🌱🍃
Lovely garden tour! FYI Australians last October counted 4,936,509 birds in our Great Aussie Bird Count. 106,107 people participated. Most common bird is the Rainbow Lorikeet followed by the Noisy Miner, Australian Magpie, Sulphur Crested Cockatoo and Galah. Please come to Australia AGAIN to see our fabulous birds.
Where I live in Oregon in the Willamette Valley, 30 degrees F. is cold. That much show shuts down roads and life comes to a standstill. We actually have a winter drought this year. The sun is shining when we should be getting rain. We can get a sprinkle of snow, but none this year. Winters are 40 F - high 50 F. and summers are the 70s - 90s. Your property looks so peaceful. We also feed the birds and big fat gray squirrels. You have tons of work for Spring but it will be fun to get out there in the fresh air to beautify the area. Thanks for the video!
You have such wonderful ideas for recycling things like building the tile circles as garden sculptures. Your such an inspiration for so many things besides knitting. Can’t wait to see what you have for us next time.
What a lovely landscape in winter! My daffodils and hyacinths are peeking through! We couldn't feed birds this past summer due to some virus endangering the birds. Hopefully, we'll see them again this summer!
I enjoyed visiting your winter garden. Here's an idea for the mausoleum: instead of a cross, why not a pot of "cement flowers?" Painted cement flowers would be very original. 😊
The lake is just gorgeous and so cool to see the branches in the garden. I leave my garden to settle over winter too, toasty And tasty for the critters that pass through! Happy winter days to you both
The Last Homely House mentioned to visit you. I am so glad she did. You are both wonderful and charming. I feel so lucky to "know" you. I live in eastern US in the state of Pennsylvania. I wish you the best and all the happiness in the world.
Thanks for showing us your winter garden. It's beautiful with the frozen lake in the background. Zero degrees might be mild for you but to me that's COLD lol.
It was really nice seeing your winter garden - I find them as interesting as the summer time - all the dried seed heads, branch patterns. It was also great to be able to see how all of your buildings relate to each other. Beautiful home!
Thank you for the stroll in the winter garden. It was pleasant and peaceful. We haven't had much snow in my part of New Jersey, but it has very cold. Almost spring.
Your home and garden are so beautiful, but I'm with Freya. Leave me inside by the cozy fire while you walk about in the snow. Lovely to look at, but my old bones do not like the cold or anything slippery! ❤😘
I loved my Border Collie Skippy! He was so smart! He died 14.5 years in 1986 after I rescued him as a puppy in a dog pound in 1972 in Hunstville Alabama USA. He almost died from worms, but my husband and I took him to the vet who saved him. Can you see the Northern Lights at night where you live?
hi guys i really enjoyed today it is so beautiful in the winter i love the wood heat from the wood stoves we pile our wood in for the winter to helmer was enjoying the walk today to well i will see you wed take care and thanks
We entertain our cat, Lucy, by feeding the birds. She watches from inside, of course; she’s funny hiding behind the curtain like she is going to pounce on one. We scare off any neighbor’s cats that come into yard to keep birds safe. Oh my! Lol! The mask in the garden! Hilarious! Cheryl
Your winter ❄️ garden is beautiful guys . Thank you . I turned 65 on Valentine’s Day and finally have a date after being a widow for 14 years.
Your garden in the winter is lovely. Very peaceful.
Helmer is so regal and handsome! A lovely winter garden companion, while Freija plays diva-dog in the house! He’s a sweet boy. Like his dads❤️🐾
😊👍🏻
Ooohhh! I can just see Chihuly glass sculptures in your garden! The perfect combination of my three favorite artists!
What a beautiful property. Arne you look so comfortable in front of the camera and your English is fantastic. Thank you Arne and Carlos for this tour.
A garden in winter has its own stark beauty. I love the idea of dipping stems in cement and painting them. Your homestead is so beautiful and peaceful! Thank you for this treat!
Arne really looks at home in the snow, it actually shows that he was brought up in the snow.
I thoroughly enjoy your lovely winter garden tour! Thank you! ❤️ 😀
You are welcome!
Nice to see you both in your winter garden!
so happy to see more of this kind of videos! ;) love you ;)
Thank you!
It’s lovely to see your winter garden and to see Helmer enjoying the snow and spending time with you there.
Thank you for sharing , can’t wait for spring ❤️
What a beautiful place you both live. The silence is wonderful. We too have a bird counting week end here in the UK. My grand daughter and I count them every year. We have noticed that since our lockdowns there are many more birds.
That is the same here in Norway
Thank you Gentlemen for the grand tour of your peaceful, magical outdoor space.
Thank you so much for sharing your winter garden with us. It is amazing how nature transforms throughout the seasons. Thank you ❤️
I love the contrasts that appear in a winter garden. There's something very peaceful about seeing a garden resting under the snow.

Arne and Carlos, thank you for the tour of your winter garden❤️❤️

Please try the concrete flowers! Love the garden tour and mausoleum as well as the circles. Your creativity never ends💜
Great to see this...such a contrast to where I live in Australia where it never snows! We are more likely to have drought and fires!
You live in such a beautiful place. Thank you for sharing. Bless you both. Be safe and well
The garden in winter ❄ is quiet, lovely, & bare trees make it easy to visualize future plans. 💜 I think Helmer 🐕 has become my dream dog. 🌻
The garden looked good in the snow. Thanks for showing us around.

Love you guys! The tour was great!
Thank you so much!
As a keen gardener the change from winter to spring, the start of things growing, never ceases to amaze me. Thank you for sharing your winter garden.
So nice to see your lovely home on such a beautiful crisp day!
Enchanting Garden in Winter episode! sounds like the chickadees were waiting for their food ! The birds are hungry here in Michigan this winter too. Love your mittens, Carlos and your gloves, Arne....Magical

😊😊
We hope you enjoy it Sabrina!
Love seeing
Your outdoors!! Yes…. Please do a tutorial on the concrete flowers!! Thank you as always!!
Yay!
Beautiful! I loved Arne's life mask. Hot chocolate in front of the fire sounds idyllic.

Nice to see you winter, even with just little snow. Thanks !
So nice to see your sleeping gardens and you guys taking care of those precious birds.
Love the birds 🦅 it is relaxing. I feed them in the winter and love it .
Thank you for the tour of the winter garden. One thing I love is the various shapes, and textures found in the winter garden.

Beautiful ❄ I could hear those happy birds❄xx
There is a lot of beauty in a winter garden. Mother Nature may surprise you with more snow just before spring arrives.

Lovely sunshine ☀️
I love your videos! I always enjoy your conversation back and forth. I always learn a lot as well. Such a beautiful home and garden.
Had a lovely time visiting your garden 😊
Lovely seeing all the snow in yr garden. A will look forward to perhaps seeing it again in spring /summer. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
