Great videos.
Can you let us know the designer from fiverr who sorted your youtube animations out etc?
Much appreciated Michelle and Alan.
Hi both, we used www.fiverr.com/williamsjaames for our end screen animation that goes on the end of our videos and www.fiverr.com/hamdihelo/do-an-awesome-subscribe-like-bell-for-you for our 'subscribe' animation 😄It cost us under £20 for the 2 and you'll have the campoutwest discount too 🎉 oh and Jessica www.fiverr.com/jessica_3d/exterior-interior-and-landscape-design did our cabin mock ups xxx
@@CampOutWest fantastic. Thanks and keep the videos coming, we love them.
As a 52 year old mother of 2 I watch your videos every time with a smile on my face thinking 'bless their hearts, they work SO hard!' I can't wait for the warmer weather to arrive for you to be able to just sit in the sun and look at just how far you've come and achieved. Your parents must be so proud of you both.
They're in Wales, there won't be any sun 😂
😂😂@@helenstewart1238
The audio is better with the new microphones. Tip for the next house: there's no need to measure between trusses; cut two pieces of wood to the correct length and butt each truss up against them. Then move them to the next.
That's good to hear! We annoyingly dropped our camera and broke it's mic port, so when the mic receiver is plugged in it's not recording anything haha so we've been manually recording into the mics directly and then trying to match it up with the footage when we edit 🤣 It's been a nightmare BUT I'm pleased it's been worth all the hassle 😄Thanks for the tip on the wood lengths too! Genius😃
Or just lay out the measurements on the top plate the hole length at once and then just move along without remeasuring every time.
Great job guys really enjoying watching the process 👍🏻👏🏻
I watch this and think “ what a great story to show your family and friends in 30-40 years time” . ….you will look back and think how amazing you both were. I’m full of admiration 😊😊😊
In NZ when the roof goes on a new house, you have a “roof shout”, you celebrate with a drink with the roofers, dowsing the new roof. I think you should adopt that tradition!
Just remember when things are getting difficult, we're all here rooting for you. Great progress!
It’s really coming on, well done to you both. I love seeing Maggie snoopervising your work.
Maggie is the best supervisor 🥰
OK, Thank you. I have just added Snoopervising to my vocabulary.😁👍
You work well together... You will have to have a topping off ceremony when the roof is done.
Just had a quick google as we'd never heard of a 'topping off ceremony' they look amazing!
I’m so impressed with you both! Pat yourselves on the back because you are doing amazing work. You just put on your own roof trusses!! You are going to have such a sense of pride and accomplishment when your home is all done and you have the satisfaction of knowing you built it! Bravo! And Maggie too of course! She helped as well, just by being so sweet and adorable. 🥰 Awesome job and great video today too! 🏆🥇
It doesn´t get any better than this time of your life. It is a struggle on a day to day basis, but the bonds you are building now will last you a lifetime.
It really doesn't feel real! It feels like we are in a dream right now 🙏
Hetiau i chi'ch dau...tri...swydd Stirling. Mwynhewch wylio'ch cynnydd yn fawr. 😊😊😊
Very proud of you both. My great niece and nephew. The weather should improve before long. Sunny days are on the way. 😊😊
Diolch Mavis 😍
I've just seen you have over 140k subscribers, I'm pretty sure you had less than a few hundred when I started following your journey. It's crazy how far the channel and camp have come along. Testament to both of your hard work!
Amazing job!
Thank you for sticking around, its a bit silly really, the numbers have just kept creeping up week by week, we find it wild how many people are following us on our journey and sharing ideas and advise with us so freely.
You are making so much progress and we can see your dream coming to life now. Keep going, what an absolute inspiration you both are. Xx
Thanks Dee! It's starting to feel real now ❤
Making a jig for those trusses to make spacing plumbing and squaring MUCH easier, instead of having to do all the fiddly bits 28 Times
If only you could have told us that before we started 🤣 great tip! We will bare that in mind for the shower block 😃
That is so funny that you say, I'm happy you survived... we are in the middle of completely renovation our 1938 bathroom, with 5000 pounds of tear down and now we are at the tiling. It's been a journey. It will be nice to get it done! I hope we survive and are married still😅
Nible renters, who deserve an Oscar for their excellent performance on set
No idea what 'nible renters' means 🤣 unless you mean noble renters which equally makes no sense to us 🤣
Please be careful with the scaffold tower. You have no supports. I fell off a tower while taking it down. Multiple injuries. Not fully recovered 3 years on.
Also, please wear a working at height helmet.
Sorry to hear that, hope you reach recovery soon 🙏🙏
@@CampOutWest Thank you.
Looking great guys, fantastic job by 2 very hard working people.❤
Thanks Anthony! Such an amazing feeling seeing a roof on it when we look out the caravan now! 😊
you guys are brilliant, great team work.
Looking GOOD guys !👏 Keep it up ,one foot in front of the other. Together you've got this !! Thanks for sharing again!🙏
I absolutely love the big end window in the bedroom, and like the idea of the velux, loving the build
We can't wait to finally put the window in place! 🥰
You work so well together. Love seeing your progress. The end is getting nearer and nearer. Fantastic job guys❤️
You guys are inspiring. We love what you have done and plan to do. It has given us the belief we can do ‘similar’ things with our own project in Finland. We are learning so much- thanks.❤
The design mock ups are great! Can’t wait to see what you do. Your videos are so inspiring and you make a great team.
Well done gang, those trusses went up pretty well, and a good job on the ladder sections 👍. (Add a temporary leg to support them when you fix the OSB). Interior design looks good, remember less is more when working with cosy interiors, and the basics are what makes it perfect ( heating and ventilation, light and bright and a good shower that gets you very wet)
Well done guys for how far you’ve come! 🎉
Thanks both! Such an amazing feeling 🎉
@@CampOutWest you’ve both come such a long way it’s really coming along now! Have you had much luck over the ⛺️ yet?
@@Georgiee.and.Dan. The company sent us one replacement (even though they sent us 2 faulty ones) but at least we got something back. We haven't risked putting it up yet, we are waiting for the spring to see how it does but we have booked to go to a glamping trade show later this year to see what else we can get as we have lost all faith in the first company , so we are excited to go to the gleamping show. We really like the look of the brand 'clear sky' they look amazing!
@@CampOutWest such a shame, atleast you have more knowledge about them now and what to look for! Take care both! Roll on the next video 😃
Do you know about the bump setting on the dewalt nail gun? Once you put it the lever near the speed setting over to the sign with 3 nails you just keep the trigger pulled in and whenever you compress the tip it will fire, when nailing repetitively like you was making your double trusses it save quite a bit of time 👍
I mentioned this on the last video, he replied saying that he managed to work this out and that it made a big difference.
@@ebutuoy4811 🙌
Love the bump setting, i can get carried away with it a bit though 🤣
@CampOutWest also while in the bump setting if you do not pull the trigger in but compress the tip it will prime and u can use it as a single nail mode buy just pulling the trigger, I keep mine on bump setting constantly as it covers both modes at the same time 👍
I know I’m one of many around the world breathing a collective sigh of relief that your trusses are up!
The designs by the architect are beautiful- what a great website business.
Love this, we are fully chuffed the trusses are up, it currently has a tarp over the whole roof and i can hear the rain running off it right now and it is a good feeling
Hi guys, You have done it again you amaze me how you have your day jobs to do and then come and work on your new home, I look 👀 forward to every video you guys put out as always I look forward to your next video until then you take care of yourself and stay safe.❤🛠️🛠️⭐️👍
Thanks so much Fred! A lot of the time we feel like we don't do enough, so this was such a big milestone for us!
The tiny house is coming together so nicely .
Hi John and Emily, exciting progress! Wonderful to see the roof trusses in place, it is going to be quite cavernous inside compared to the caravan. I'm so looking forward to the interior design stage and knowing how capable you both are, it will be spectacular.❤
Wow, fantastic work and how great this has all come together. Love the fact that Maggie is continuing to keep an eye on you both xx
She loves seeing what we're up to, we always wonder what she's thinking...'Hurry up humans and build me a home' 🤣 xx
John, 1.15 - when you are sawing please tuck your thumb in. I still have the scar where I sawed into my thumb 55 years ago in woodwork at school, I fainted lol.
Sorry to hear that! Thanks for the heads up
Keep up the great teamwork - you're doing superbly! I bet it's a real morale boost for you to see the house beginning to take proper shape?! Be careful, Stay safe, and thumbs up!👍👍
On a repetitive job like the roof spacer blocks are your friend, cut a couple bits of timber to the desired length and saves you having to measure out and mark each beam,
Congrats guys, really enjoying the build
You are the greatest couple. You work so well together and you sure are not afraid of hard work. You are both amazing. Look at what you have accomplished. Well done both. Be proud. You deserve it. So happy for you. Its gorgeous. I absolutely love your design. Fivver did you well. Its INCREDIBLE.
AMAZING work you two.... living my dream ...look forward to every video you make ...... 😊😊😊
Thanks so much for the support Richard! 😊
I totally love watching this and my goodness you work so hard, sometimes you just have to take a big leap of faith to get where you want, I know the feeling well having brought a broken down unliveable french farm house 20 years ago I have photos if you are interested, plus I love how you are with your dog he is so like my boy Jack same colour and mannerisms
Well done both of you, great teamwork, it’s amazing to see each video and see how you are coming along.🇦🇺
Thinking about doing something similar out my parents garden, hopefully my vision comes to life!
Sounds amazing! You also wouldn't need planning permission to build within the park home regulations like we are, as in the UK you can build one legally in any house garden,' as long as the person living in it is a direct family member of the house owner!
Really starting to take shape now guys. Excited to see the next videos drop now it’s starting to look like a building. Well done to you both for even getting to this point.
Wow you two, amazing work and how exciting! Thank goodness, you had some dry days, I think we have all the rain here in the South East Kent lol 😂 Much love to you both and Pooch x
Literally came across your videos on utube I watch a lot of one's in America then seen yours excellent work both really enjoyed the other videos as well. Well done both looking forward to the next 👍 👏 😀 👌 💪 😄
So very proud of you two it's such a growth and learning all for the good!
Thank you Terri, we are definitely learning lots each day on the project
Wow guys, you got loads done in this video. It looked a bit windy when you fitted the gable ends, great work though you must be really happy with your progress. 👍👍👍👍👍
It was really windy the whole time which made it feel scarier than it needed to be
The animation was great, I enjoy your videos!😊
Nice job on those trusses. Keep up the great teamwork

Spent my Easter weekend Binge watching from your first upload and what a amazing journey you both have embarked on and continue to remain strong I can’t wait to see when you guys finish everything best of luck can’t wait for future uploads 🎉👊💪
Wonderful progress
Thanks JP! Can't believe the roof is up!
Great to see your ideas in 3D!
Two thoughts:
- Smaller tiles means more grout, which means more cleaning. Grout is a PAIN TO CLEAN!
- Consider orienting your bed so both heads or feet are towards the window. As you age, you'll both likely need to get up in the night to go potty so both need to be able to easily get out of bed.
Wow! I hope you're proud of yourselves ... you should be. Things are looking great. Cheers from Australia
I am so proud of the 2 of you !
You both have done such an god and you have accomplished a whole bunch. You are so much closer to getting your house dried in and next thing. You know you will have walls on the inside, not only the outside. Thank you for sharing your amazing journey. Say hi to Maggie.❤😊
So exciting watching this all coming together. ❤️ Can't wait for next video. Xx
I am immensly invested in this build.
Another great post showing off your skills, well done.....
Thanks Sandy, we learn something new every video 🥰
It's so amazing that you have finally got the main bit of the roof on. It really looks like it's coming together now. Such a joy to watch you building your own home. The interior designs all look cool - I don't know which one I like best but it's going to be great which ever one you choose.
Thanks for this awesome channel - it's so good watching your progress. 😊👍🌞
You made me remember when i had just a basic box with my hut. I couldn't stop spending time in it and contemplating the finished job. Such a beautiful time then. Keep up the excellent work guy's.
Yay #CampOutWest Monday's!
Woohoo! Happy Monday!
I do admire how you utilise your individual skills as a team. This is such an exciting project and your humility and dedication are peerless. So pleased to see the roof trusses in place.❤

Lovely to see you working together so well and making great progress despite the more often than not, inclement weather 👏👏👏
Good work guys. You’re doing incredible work. ❤
Great work both keep up the great work.love the videos 👍
Always look forward to these videos! Doing an awesome job guys!
Team work is the dream work! Very impressed. I built a garden room in lockdown, mostly learnt from watching RUclips. Thinking about ventilation was a key task. I have a flat roof and have ensured that there is plenty of air movement. Thermal efficiency has been great and putting in blinds for the patio doors helps me really tweak the temperature when we have our rare hot days. Looking forward to seeing you move in.
We build a shed/workshop over lockdown which is what gave us a little bit of an idea of what we might be able to make ourselves. Ali Dymocks videos on youtube really inspired me (jon) For ventilation, the walls and roof will e battened and counter battened which will give good airflow for the membrane. The windows all have controllable ventilation built into them and we will also be fitting a mechanical heat recovery ventilation system which will keep a constant supply of fresh air into the structure, this is a requirement to building a residential caravan which is what this is. Something like this www.permagard.co.uk/kair-heat-recovery-extractor-fan-12vac-selv-humidistat?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw5ImwBhBtEiwAFHDZx4kxaK0N9w95t5YBebMEfgtnRRhRvB037cSmNUIR-vC1vjNiGDYo0hoC1PoQAvD_BwE Would probably be good for your garden room if you have any issues with ventilation.
👏 Great work 🇦🇺🦘🐨
Can’t wait to see the finished
Project!
Fabulous progress! Thank you.
Thanks Jan, so special seeing the roof up when we look outside the caravan window ❤

Great job, guys! Can’t wait to see this all done.
More amazing efforts from you. This tiny house will be amazing. You should be sooo very proud of yourselves. Congrats.
Well done with the progress
You guys amaze me. Have you thought about a big skylight in the bedroom? It’s lovely to lie in bed and look at the stars.
It’s Llanelli (or thereabouts) the stars may be visible two nights a year, great for cloud enthusiasts though. 😂
@@crocsmart5115 We actually have an amazing view of the sky here, we're close enough to towns for conveniences but far enough to get all the benefits of the countryside. Just today we have seen an otter on the road by us (alive) and a pair of Goshawks
Awesome progress!
So much progress 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Amazing job guys
Thanks Debbie! ❤
Absolutely mesmerised by your video's, you have both come so far and can't wait to see the finished cabin ❤️
Looking good guys, well done you both work so hard ❤
