Hope you enjoy this one, fam! The Prodigy are close to my heart, so this was a pleasure 🙂 Let me know what you want to see me cover in a future video 👇
So good absolutely nailed it!! Prodigy takes me back aswell with my brother he was always playing them and just remember thinking wow what is this 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Same here. Had to travel all over my hometown to find a record store that had a copy 😂 Pre-Spotify times... Prodigy was huge early inspiration! Love the Hackers soundtrack
Take a bow son, take a bow. I've spent years trying to dissect Prodigy tracks and work out what it was that took them to the next level from other hardcore and jungle techno released at the same time then boom, one video from yourself answers it all. Kudos to you sir.
I just loaded the track into Ableton 11, didn't have Sylenth so used Festival Beez preset in Serum and tweaked the reverb, oh wow, blown away mate the production on this Will is awesome.
Awesome job Will. Liam really is a master of his trade and it's not until you see one of his tracks dissected and remade (see Jim Pavloff's classic remakes) to really appreciate what Liam puts into each of The Prodigys tracks!
@@AbbiDabbiDooh Plenty of artists and DJ's were making rave tracks and touring this scene. It wasn't just one act. Shades of Rhythm. N-trance, Orbital, Ragga twins, Altern 8, SL2, Adamski, Nightmares on Wax, Mr Monday, K Klass, Zero B, Unique 3, Opus 3, Bizarre inc, Utah Saints, Joey Beltram, 808 State, Future sound of London and that's just off the top of my head. It was a whole scene.
Your tuts are next level. The number of producers you will have helped develop beyond the amateur stage cannot be understated. It's so easy to be caught in tutorial hell because so many of them are purposefully vague and mostly a way to advertise something they're selling. You're a real one!
What a banger! 👏 Woke up this morning feeling a bit disillusioned with my producing and had zero enthusiasm. That was the tutorial version of a really strong coffee! Am buzzing now and ready to jump back in. Thanks for the kick-start! Will be looking into your Masterclass 100%
Hoooly Moly, im only 10 minutes in the video, but this is already my favourite tutorial from you :D I really want to learn how to write good melodies, or even copy the melody like you did. Also watching sound design from scratch is another great thing, a lot can be learned from it! Thank You! Thankfully i saw Prodigy in live a few years ago, i will never forget that feeling and vibe what was there :)
Armen Brother! I Love your tuturials, Im 48 year old beginner, hailing from Penny Lane, Liverpool ... music prod' and mixing is my lockdown learnt skill. i would like to make some old school funky house with funky bass lines and piano, and all da!
Thanks, thanks and thanks again... I was living in UK when The Prodigy exploded and lived all that as a university student. You just remembered me one of my best experience of my life!!! Keep the good work!
This record blew my mind when it first came out! I was 13, in Jr. High and it led me down a path that eventually had me and my buddy sneaking out weekend nights to go to raves in abandoned grocery stores, schools and warehouses across the Midwest. Such a great breakdown of the song, well done.
I never knew he (they) sampled Funky Nassau for the bass!?!?! I love how creative you had to be back then with all the technical and financial limits a bedroom producer had in those days....
Hell yeah sir, 100% awesome nice bit of high energy to get moving too. Imagine the amount of gear they had doing this originally compare to a single laptop and the Internet to source almost any sound.
This is really good. I love your videos and the paid courses I'm slowly working through. Wish I had found EDMTips 4 years ago when I bought my first synth. Thanks Will.
This track sounds killer. Would love to hear the final version upload for us to all enjoy. You really encapsulated the Prodigy's sound in an articulate manner. Great job! 👍
Absolutely loved this and will be trying to recreate! I would love to hear your take on early suburban base records stuff, krome+time, sonz of a loop da loop era etc if possible please!?
Geez, just yesterday I was rewatching The Prodigy Song recreations in Ableton and found old good Junglebeats🎉 How on earth do we deserve this?🎉 And my first The Prodigy song Smack my b. up
Wow! So recognisable! By hearing Out of space, I quit my "career" as drummer in a popband and started with making electronic music on a Roland W30. Everybody said I was crazy, but it became my job. Who's crazy now? ;-)
After seeing a few of your old-school tutorials, I'd like to see your take on some more 90s hard trance. The likes of Cocooma - Rage or some riot bros tracks. Have that analog sound which I find very hard to replicate with modern digital samples being so crisp.
Lovely video mate !the prodigy and this tune was one of my firsts ones that introduced me inside the electronic music…I really enjoyed, now I ll try to duplicate this on hardware !Regards from the sunny malaga
Hell yeah! Amen brother! This is amazing. Really makes you scratch your head when you realize how Liam brought it all togheter to one cohesive fat and amazing track. Amen Liam. Keep the Prodigy alive.
I'm born in 2000 and The Prodigy is still a legendary group for us with good taste in music. Yeah my generation got their eyes in the wrong places. I mean imma see depeche mode live for the third time with my dad. Rip Keith Flint and Andy Fletcher!
Grew up with punk rock and after that, things went stale. When jilted gen exploded I was perhaps getting a little old to smash it up. Then i thought, I am the jilted gen so let's fuckin burn it down. When John Lydon of the sex pistols became about as relevant as the back of a pantomime horse, these guys were taking punk to the next level and u know what? It had more guts energy and chaos than punk could ever muster.
Brilliant video and thanks 😊 I am really struggling with the structure of a track and what elements should be in place and for how many bars, could you please show me how to make a old skool House track? Thanks for your time
Good job, very nice to follow your work flow, and prodigy is a very classy choose as well 😁🚀 and I wonder if you can overview an Astrix track for some of us (Sapana maybe :D) 😁
Hope you enjoy this one, fam! The Prodigy are close to my heart, so this was a pleasure 🙂 Let me know what you want to see me cover in a future video 👇
Kaspa koman would be great!
Can you do one in the style of Underworld now!
I can die happy now. :)
So good absolutely nailed it!! Prodigy takes me back aswell with my brother he was always playing them and just remember thinking wow what is this 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Would love see more 90s sounds
"Music for the jilted generation" was my first electronic music album I've got back in the 90's. RIP Keith. Long live The Prodigy
Incredible album!
I know what I'll be listening to today all day today. Thanks for bringing some of the memories back Will, ya legend !
Same here. Had to travel all over my hometown to find a record store that had a copy 😂 Pre-Spotify times... Prodigy was huge early inspiration! Love the Hackers soundtrack
I know the feeling. "Music for the gilted generation" I've had on a CD but "Experience" album was on a cassette tape haha. Good old days.
I have Experience on vinyl, Music for the Jilted Generation on cassette, and Fat of the Land on CD!
Take a bow son, take a bow. I've spent years trying to dissect Prodigy tracks and work out what it was that took them to the next level from other hardcore and jungle techno released at the same time then boom, one video from yourself answers it all. Kudos to you sir.
Cheers, Ben! Much appreciated :)
This is another good coverage of that ruclips.net/video/6ZYLp5uX9Yw/видео.html
i wish this shit got big again... I was a little too young to have experienced that era...
I just loaded the track into Ableton 11, didn't have Sylenth so used Festival Beez preset in Serum and tweaked the reverb, oh wow, blown away mate the production on this Will is awesome.
This guy and JimPavlof did very good job on recreating Prodigy tracks !
Awesome job Will. Liam really is a master of his trade and it's not until you see one of his tracks dissected and remade (see Jim Pavloff's classic remakes) to really appreciate what Liam puts into each of The Prodigys tracks!
Thanks! Yeah, he was way ahead of his time
They were made without a DAW too.
@@EDMTips Liam was of his time, not ahead of it. Other producers on the rave scene were making music like this.

I really appreciate this. Like many others, The Prodigy is one of my biggest influences and inspiration for making music
Awesome, glad you liked it! Prodigy was one of my biggest influences too :)

Thank you so much! It takes a lot of effort so I really appreciate that :)
"Yellow, the natural color of bass". That made me so happy, because I think so too.
The Prodigy is what grabbed me too. RIP Keef.
Fantastic recreation!
Thanks, Marc! R.I.P indeed
This is awesome! Spot on, you nailed it. This tune is legendary and timeless, man how much I miss the 90s..
Thank you! I really appreciate that :)
What a banger! 👏

Yep...great live band!
Need more like this. Groups like the Prodigy, Chem Bro's etc don't get enough mention these days! Cheers
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed :)

Hellz ya Boss! Right in my wheelhaus ! Was jamming to Prodigy around the same time you were coming out of college, back in the day!
BOOM! 🙌🙌😎
This was great Will, you smashed this one.
Cheers, Grant :)
Thanks to this material, the day has become much nicer.
Stoked to hear that! Thanks for watching and supporting 🙏🏻
My favorite teacher!!! Thanks a lot will!! Really appreciate your videos!
You're welcome! 🙂 😃
Wow fast work ! Amazing skillz. Watched this in car (while parked) now looking forward to playing with the tips when I get home. Thank you sir.
Best teacher ever!! 💎💎💎
Hell Yeah! Amen Brotha! Prodigy brought the music I loved to the main stage. Really great remake in such quick time. Awesome!
Couldn't agree more! I saw them live and they brought the heat 🔥
Looks like I’m spending the weekend listening to Prodigy and watching Hackers 🤓💾🎹 Excellent video Will 😄
Nice choice!
Fantastic tutorial! I learned a lot of tricks for how to create big beat Prodigy style music.
Glad you liked it! Any particular artists or tracks you're digging at the moment?
My granddad bought me 'The Prodigy - Experience' for Christmas as a kid. Playing 'Out of Space' he was going 'Pay close attention' 🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️
Best grandad! 🙌
So happy that you made this tutorial. Legendary, cheers mate.
Really glad you enjoyed it! I enjoyed making it 😎
Awesome Will!! Along with No Good, Hot Ride is one of my many favs from the Prodigy along with many others 😜👍
oh my god finally! prodigy are the all time best!!
You know it!
I'm a huge fan of the Prodigy especially Liam Hewlett he's one of the kings of sampling and sounddesign !
Me too; WAAAAY ahead of his time
This record blew my mind when it first came out! I was 13, in Jr. High and it led me down a path that eventually had me and my buddy sneaking out weekend nights to go to raves in abandoned grocery stores, schools and warehouses across the Midwest.
Such a great breakdown of the song, well done.
That's brill! thanks Will. I really enjoyed the Old Skool stuff
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Amen Brother. Chemical Brothers next!!
Great suggestion! What's your favourite track of theirs?
Star Guitar!
Under the influence. Neighbors love it.
The Firestataaa! A big hug from Buenos Aires from Melmoth (electro/darkwave)
Excellent hit on the sound....For a next project i would Like to hear the sound of Yello!
Oh yeah?
I like how you broke down the process of making your track! it helped me create a new formula for one of mine
Glad it helped!
Awesome, it was the Prodigy that got me into the rave scene too!
I never knew he (they) sampled Funky Nassau for the bass!?!?! I love how creative you had to be back then with all the technical and financial limits a bedroom producer had in those days....
New editing is good. - this works well. Great tutorial as always
Cheers :)
I love how you blend into the screen with a glow outline like a musical angel. 👼😀
😆 New editor!
Cool!! You really did prodigy!!
first time hearing the prodigy. listened to their just 2 tracks I encountered first. no doubt that they got you into music.
Amen brother
🙌🙏
Hell yeah sir, 100% awesome nice bit of high energy to get moving too. Imagine the amount of gear they had doing this originally compare to a single laptop and the Internet to source almost any sound.
Indeed! Different times. I do miss the days of external hardware, though!
Another great tutorial, covering one of my favourite tracks.
Your insights, tips & approach really help my producing confidence. Top man 👍
Great to hear, and glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic Tutorial
Thank you! Cheers!
This is really good. I love your videos and the paid courses I'm slowly working through. Wish I had found EDMTips 4 years ago when I bought my first synth. Thanks Will.
You HAVE to do this again but with another one of their tunes.
It was very inspiring and motivated me to get back on the DAW. Cheers for that mate👍
This track sounds killer. Would love to hear the final version upload for us to all enjoy. You really encapsulated the Prodigy's sound in an articulate manner. Great job! 👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Superb Nailed it will ❤️
Cheers, man :)
Another great video definitely worth the wait for this one. Amen brother
🙌🙏
Yeah this has inspired me
Awesome :)
Absolutely brilliant! 🙌. For a future video could you please do one in the style of Tommy Farrow’s track Can’t Explain. Thanks!
that's really awesome !!!

Needed this, killer drums
😎👌
Amen brotha! How's about a French House tutorial in the future? That would be dope!
Coming soon! :) 🙏
you made my day!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow! So recognisable! By hearing Out of space, I quit my "career" as drummer in a popband and started with making electronic music on a Roland W30. Everybody said I was crazy, but it became my job. Who's crazy now? ;-)
That's awesome!! Hearing that tune made me get my first Amiga (500) with OctaMED, and a couple of outboard bits "borrowed" from school
You know Fatboy Slim also started up as drummer?
After seeing a few of your old-school tutorials, I'd like to see your take on some more 90s hard trance. The likes of Cocooma - Rage or some riot bros tracks. Have that analog sound which I find very hard to replicate with modern digital samples being so crisp.
So good to watch always loved this tuune!
Great video! The organ he used is the "korg prophecy"
Ah, yes, indeed! Thanks for pointing this out :)
This is great. The heavy drums of the Prodigy of old still hit the spot 👍
😃💣 And that's the law.
In the prodigy’s songs they usually have a kind of sub bass rumble thing, in my opinion it’s what makes the prodigy songs.
Great tutorial really enjoyed the content some amazing ideas spring to mind well done
Thank you! Cheers!
Amen Brother!
🙌🙏
v cool mate hell yeah
BOOM! 🙌🙌
I will surely use this tutorial in my new beat :-) Thank you!
You're welcome, Greg, I am glad you enjoyed it! 🙂🙌🏻
Amazed how close you got to the original in half an hour - would take me weeks! 😄
Thanks, Des!
Fantastic ! thanks so much, I love making early 90s breakbeat and I learnt so much 👍
Great Job!
Lovely video mate !the prodigy and this tune was one of my firsts ones that introduced me inside the electronic music…I really enjoyed, now I ll try to duplicate this on hardware !Regards from the sunny malaga
Omg, this tutorial is the bomb. Big thx 4 sharing this 1 🤟 and showing us the way. Respect.
Great job mate. I was a diehard Meralhead until I heard this tune. Let the nostalgia flow! Lol
Awesome mate, thank you so much! Learnt a heap. Now to put it into practice...

may the force be with you!!
Hell yeah! Amen brother! This is amazing. Really makes you scratch your head when you realize how Liam brought it all togheter to one cohesive fat and amazing track. Amen Liam. Keep the Prodigy alive.

Seems like will is really good at old school stuff
😎

Awesome!!!!!
Cheers, Robert :)
Thanks for sharing this. Prodigy was my youth and I still love it ;) Such an innovative band!
Absolutely!
Quick way to get a closer organ sound to original is sample the one from Felix "dont you want me" and play around with that ;)
I did consider that!
so happy my dad introduced me to the prodigy
Good dad
Liam Howlett is an absolute madman!
RIP Keith ☝
100%
30:56 is the best part. Well played, well done.
Appreciated! 😃
Good job, very nice to follow your work flow, and prodigy is a very classy choose as well 😁🚀 and I wonder if you can overview an Astrix track for some of us (Sapana maybe :D) 😁
Thanks, and I'll check it out!
