The first product to emerge from the GT Tools Foundry Innovation Lab, we are extremely proud to release the 2020 Limited-Edition Quarter and Shorter Cutter Kit. Designed, Engineered, Machined, Hand-Stitched, Flame-Branded and assembled with pride in Durango, Colorado, USA. Each tool is manufactured and custom engraved exclusively for you. Expect roughly 4-6 weeks for your tool set to be custom manufactured for you. Available in extremely limited quantities.
Forged from Heat Treated 17-4 Stainless Steel
Our standard Quarter and Shorter Cutters are manufactured out of 6061-T6 Aluminum. For this Foundry Innovation Lab project, we chose 17-4 Stainless Steel and heat treated it to H900. In addition to Extremely high corrosion resistance, this new material more than doubled the hardness of the tools while increasing the tool strength by over 5X.

Once you order your 2020 Limited Edition Quarter and Shorter Cutter Kit, we start manufacturing your tools. We will reach out to you to get your custom engraving details and then produce your kit within 4-6 weeks.
The Shorter Cutter™ - 18in.
GT Tools® took the design of our Quarter Cutter™ and shortened it for tighter spaces. The Shorter Cutter™ excels in cutting hard to reach corners and is perfect for quarter glass! Made from a durable aluminum body and knurled steel Power Handle, this tool can be driven through the urethane using a pushing motion; if that’s not good enough, use the Power Handle and a rubber mallet to slice through crusty old urethane!
Quick-Change Blade Design
The Shorter Cutter™ was engineered with a quick change blade design that accepts only GT Tools® widely used and recognized 3 X 10 inch standard, H1, or H2 Sheath Blades, along with the 1.5" x 10" and 3" x 10" round blades used with the GT.357, .45, .44, .38 Special reciprocating auto glass cutting tools. The 3" x 12" and 3" x 14" blades do not fit the Shorter Cutter. This design allows a specialist to slide the blade into the receiving end of the handle locking securely in place. Included with the tool is 1 - 3 X 10 inch Standard blade.
No Glass Too Tight
The Shorter Cutter™ uses 6061 aluminum that measures 1.25 inches wide by 0.25 inches thick with a total length of 18 inches for those tight quarter glasses.
EZ-Slide Tapered Tip
The aluminum is tapered where the blade secures into the tool allowing the bar stock to easily slide into the urethane.
