  • The Quarter Cutter™ (35") & Shorter Cutter™ (18")
GT Tools® took the functionality of a long knife and transcended it into 2 new designs that are ready to devour urethane & cut out quarter glass in record time. Watch this training video today or read more below. The Quarter Cutter™ and Shorter Cutter™ excel in cutting hard to reach corners and are perfect for quarter glass!
Made from a durable aluminum body and knurled steel Power Handle, these tools can be driven through the urethane using a pushing motion; if that’s not good enough, use the Power Handle and a rubber mallet to slice through crusty old urethane!

    Power Handle
This knurled steel handle is designed to leverage the cutting motion as a specialist pushes the knife through the urethane or uses a mallet to pound through tough situations.
    Quick-Change Blade Design
The Quarter Cutter™ was engineered with a quick change blade design that accepts GT Tools® widely used and recognized 3 X 10 inch standard, H1, or H2 Sheath Blades used with the GT.357, .45, .44, .38 Special reciprocating auto glass cutting tools. This design allows a specialist to slide the blade into the receiving end of the handle locking securely in place. Included with the tool is 1 - 3 X 10 inch Standard blade.
    Reaching the Edge
The Quarter Cutter™ uses 6061 aluminum that measures .25 inches wide by 1.25 inches thick with a total length of 35 inches for extended reach. The aluminum is tapered where the blade secures into the tool allowing the bar stock to easily slide into the urethane.
    No Glass Too Tight
The Shorter Cutter™ uses 6061 aluminum that measures 1.25 inches wide by 0.25 inches thick with a total length of 18 inches for those tight quarter glasses.

That was painful to watch. I love your tools but I made a homemade version of these before they were ever on the market and have been cutting qtr glasses out in body shops for over 10 years now. I have the techniques using these things down to a science now lol. Good job. I was nervous watching though. I like to use a rubber mallet and do small short taps a along the way. When you get to pushing like that it can be hard on your body and there is just to much risk of putting more force than you realize and slipping or damaging something. Great tool though. I just ordered some. I have been using the push knife equalizer version for a few years now and there is a flaw in the design on those in my opinion. I am hoping your design is better. Sorry, not trying to sound arrogant I have just made a lot of mistakes when I was learning and gotten much better with my techniques. If yall want whenever mine come in I will film me cutting one out and send it to you.

@tempsho I completely understand that comment. This full quarter was being removed and replaced at the body shop, so our technician was more interested in speed than precision on this removal and not too worried about paint scratching. We addressed it with a comment in the video and we have a TON of body shops using these tools for that purpose. If we were going to remove the glass on a vehicle that didn’t have a damaged quarter panel and eliminate paint damage, we would have taken the extra minute or two to make sure we were more precise and taped off the body around the glass as well. Thanks for watching closely, I bet your shop does great work! Feel free to reach back out with any other questions or comments you may have.

Ok so nobody does that I can tell you from personal experience that absolutely no tech out there wheres those glasses unless they know they’re being watched so who really cares. Hell it’s annoying to have them on they fog up and then you can’t see as well which is just asking for trouble
