happy to say my 30 year old wing fired right up today after its long winter slumber. Gotta love a goldwing. My friend is getting his Harley ready to ride.......thats a $1500 shop visit alone !
Must have parked it at the bottom of a swimming pool.in 23 years of riding I've never seen a single Harley that couldn't sit thru the winter and fire right back up.
I just got two 84 Honda GL1200.. Dusty was so dirty! And Rusty sat outside for 16 years! Unridden! Dusty is again about ready to run Strong! Again! For the first time since 2014! Green Gas ⛽️ algae in my carburetor floats and jets! Dusty Runs!
You don't need hang of u can hear not going to start .simple spark air and fuel .I got try my 1984 gw aspencade had it a year been not started in 6 years . previous owner said
I've got an 81 Wing just like it. Mine starts first couple of cranks if I choke it. On the fun nostalgia side a band called the Playmates wrote a song about your Nash Rambler.. called Beep Beep.😁 Keep on rockin' and PEACE in Jesus Christ. No Jesus? No peace.😉
Stubborn as a pack of mules 😎 but you made it run... what you mean boring ? I was sitting on the edge of my seat like c'mon c'mon c'mon this time it's gonna work 😉
I had one of these years ago and they have starter problems already. A new starter is far more than 50 bucks!!! You should have look at how many times people have nailed you on this!!!
totally abusing that poor bike such a waste. even with a bad gasket and now a burnt starter that used 98% of its life. change the oil, flush the gas, wire brush the plugs it would have started with a neer dead battery
I don't know what a 94 Track is, but if it a motorcycle will need more info. What is the weight of the bike in the rear as it would be with you and your gear. What are the springs rated for? If you add a passenger how do you compensate for the added weight. Unless you ride the bike with the weight every time I would discourage it. Most people including me would upgrade suspension on their new Wings right off the shoroom floor, used stock suspensions should be cheap. Good luck... Glenn
@@GlennsSpeedShop how do you find a motorcycle for $50? Lol damn if only. Looking into a 78 Goldwing project for $350 obo (I'm going to try getting a lower price)
I have a 1983 1200cc Honda goldwing I finely got the starter off now I having a hard time getting the screws off I tried screw driver I tried a socket only thing I have not tried is a drill any ideas so I can get it going again and no one in OKC works on Honda goldwing there was this one dude in OKC called goldwing interprises but he has passed away anyway any ideas so I get get back to riding again please and thank you anyone lol
You need an impact driver. You can put a socket or screwdriver tip in it and hit it with a hammer and it will brake loose. I have had one from when I was 14 and had my first dirt bike, one of the first tools I ever bought and have it to this day 43 years later. Only like 10 bucks.
Home Depot may have it... If not an Auto Parts Store that sells tools or Hrbor Freight. Penitrating oil is always good, a little heat to expand the metal can also brake it's grip, carefull it just aluminum.. Good luck
The Aspencade came out in 1983. Two tone paint, digital dash, air compressor, and many other upgrades. In 1984 the 1200 came out, everything redesigned. The aspencade was about $1.600.00 more than the intersrate.
Dude are you kidding me?!!! I have a 97 Gl1500 SE I parked 3 years actually nearly 4 year's ago. Started it for the first time 2 days ago. Popped the air cleaner, sprayed a tad of starter fluid, hit the button and it fired right up. Never, never do what you did to a bike, diagnose first don't guess.
Hell, I didn't guess. I diagnosed it as a bad head gasket before I bought it. That's how I got it for 50 bucks. In this video I need to know if it will run or not, either way I don't care. If it won't run, I'll scrap it if it will run, I'll fix it. It ran, and I fixed it. Sold this 50 dollar bike for $500.00, no regrets. It ran great when it left my shop, the new owners can finish the restoration.
you call that fixed I call that trash now. why would you show that video? you fucked up that motor and starter. the knocking rod got worse as you ran it.
Love seeing old bikes cars and just motors in general coming back to life after a long sleep. Well done !!!
It is truly one of my favorite things to do. Thanks!
Running on one side maybe the belt and valves 2 at best
Not boring at all.
I really like these bikes.

@@mattsez2879 my friend's 2010 Glide too. Best guess.. empty the carb bowls first and add Stabil Storage fluid additive.

Frying the friggin starter.
This guy is going to be super busy working bikes when people see him work.

people need to REALLY educate themselves at stop bitching about "hurting/replacing" the starter....
some of the worst starter abuse i have ever seen. no thanks.
I spy a lil Nash Metropolitan. I had one of those! :-)
My 84 you got to work the choke when its a cold start..
Stubborn as a pack of mules 😎 but you made it run... what you mean boring ? I was sitting on the edge of my seat like c'mon c'mon c'mon this time it's gonna work 😉
jerome Nicolazo kick start it
For the starters sake I wish it would crank !
This is my biggest feat of taking g my stuff to a shop.
Next time use starting fluid so you do not burn your starter motor up. Thanks
Sounds like my Dad’s old Dodge Magnum spinning and and turning and not starting!
He's still doing it
Really ,now you wanna check the spark after you killed the starter?
Ist recht abenteuerlich was der Kollege dort veranstaltet!
I would check spark and compression, but I understand why hes so keen to spray everything down it to try to get it going lol
Where is the the main fuse box/ relay on a 1987 Goldwing????
I have not owned a 1200 in 30 years, I think it's behind the side cover. Check the stator connector while your at it..
Better get some more power. I don't think that starters had enough yet.
Startoval jsem kratší dobu a usmazil jsem starter a nešel opravit.musel jsem koupit novy
this guy is crazy spraing brake fluid down the air filter he should but start fluid down it will start
think it was brake cleaner.
Brake cleaner is really good at washing what lube there is in the bore down....
Let’s burn up a starter and let her run on two cylinders.
lets make another stupid uneducated comment about hurting the starter......
When you sell bikes do they come with a new starter???
Wow you are tough on starters huh!!!!
It's a $50.00 bike, who cares...lol

I am looking at it and it looks like the gas petcock is turned off, is it ??
Yes proberly is as don't want old nasty fuel stale fuel .turned mine of so drain the tank first.

Yes you can
The fuel is not turned on.
why don't you just connect it to an overhead powerline, more power the better. how the hell did that starter stand up to that abuse
It's a $50.00 bike that I fixed up and sole for $500.00. I had to know if it was worth fixing or just part it out.

Why is it smoking?
