Love it!! I just wish there were more full complete shows on film from this tour. The "Love Gun/Alive II" era is my favorite classic KISS time period. The Houston and Largo shows are cool,but i wish there were more.

As far as guitar solos go, i can't imagine anything cooler than Ace's smoking guitar! I was fortunate enough to see it live in 77 at 10 years old.😶🌫️ Awesome!!

Summer of ‘77: I was going into the sixth grade this coming September. KISS is ALL I cared about at this time. Aerosmith Rocks and Frampton Comes Alive were huge albums during this time. Foreigner Double Vision too. Once I discovered Zeppelin a couple short years later, that was it. I was finished. Great job on the synch-up audio to footage here!
I was a huge 'Smith fan at this time too. Had just gotten into them during the winter. My older brothers had no kiss records or tapes, so no kiss till late '78 through my cousin. Also late '78 AC/DC "If You Want Blood...You've got It" was huge in the house. None of my friends had a clue! We gotta be close in age too. Sixth grade fall of '77...👍💯😊🎶

For the first seven shows on the Love Gun tour starting in Halifax on July 8th until Winnipeg on the 21st they opened with Detroit which was then changed up on July 21st in Vancouver to ISYL for remainder of tour. I saw them in Calgary on July 31st with a largely unknown and unappreciated Cheap Trick opening, Bun E did play his big sticks however! 6.50 for the ticket! Cheers 🇨🇦
I love to see more of any of their 70s tours besides the one that have been shown for years. I hope the new video is clear & not to dark or to small like 8mm.
Incredible footage at their pinnacle. And equally impressive camera work considering you weren't allowed to even take photos back then. If caught snapping a pic, the "bouncers" would literally take the film out of your camera. take another and you were thrown out. Ask me how I know :0) Well done!

I never got to see the original KISS live on any of the tours from the first decade because I didn't get to know them till 78 when they were almost approaching the deep tensions within the group that wasn't know yet but just about to be within the next two years..

This was the 1977 Love Gun Tour. It was a very short Tour that started in Halifax, NS on July 8th, 1977. I was right up front for that show at the old Halifax Forum. I still have my Ace guitar pick from that show framed in my man cave. Cheap Trick was one of teh opening acts here in Halifax. Prior to that show I had seen them in April of 1976 at the same venue for the Destroyer Tour show. Quite sure I sustained hearing damage from those shows...LOL!
That's one thing I wish they did more of on the Can-Am tour the rock and roll over tour and love gun was play more the older stuff like got to choose parasite cold gin hotter than hell rock bottom and she. That always kind of was ironic to me that these guys wouldn't play a late show and an early show back then I mean the one show they played was just a little over an hour long. I mean these guys back then could have played two shows a night. there was plenty of musicians that were doing that back then. Like they should have done a show with all the new material and then the second show with a bunch of the older material
It's cool that Gene's wearing those alternate dragon boots with the studs, instead of the disco mirror ball looking ones. Why did he stop wearing those anyway? They looked cooler.
Paul no ibanez guitar Gene had pointed boot tops instead of straight across the thigh boot tops. Gene was missing the leather wings covering his shoulders.
Say what you want about Gene. And yea, he's been tainting his legacy since they started letting him talk too much. It completely altered the original Simmons character perception. The fire breathing blood spitting demon with the abrasive vocals. He's one of the most influential characters of all time

I was at the show jumped the ice rink boards and ended up right in front of Ace. Fantastic show! I was lucky enough to see them in 1974 at WLU.

Can-Am tour they were absolutely on fire and I believe this might have been when they were touring with ACDC I'm not too sure though
