That Schecter Banshee has been on my radar for a while now. Just trying to come to terms with playing a short scale bass. Thanks Bob for a great review.
Thanks Bob! I tried one of these and yes there's a lot to like about it. I just couldn't get past the super skinny neck profile, especially bothersome at the lower frets for me with large hands. Seemed even skinnier than an Ibanez SR neck Thought it would help my arthritic thumb joint, but it actually caused cramping.
Looks great and sounds really good. I'm curious to know (because the p/up sounds maybe closer to the neck than on a P bass) The harmonics across the strings, plucked down the dividing line between the two p/ups will indicate if this is the case. On a Fender P (going from the E string to the G), we have B E A D harmonics. I'm curious about this Schecter. Thanks
Hey Martin, without doing any measuring, I felt that the pickup felt closer to the neck than on a P. My right hand wanted to move toward the bridge and I thought maybe because it's a short scale but I think that your observation is correct.
Hey Bob Squier has released the Squier Affinity Active bass I've seen one in GC but it was a 5 string ( I don't like 5 strings ) I was wondering have you heard of it and I hope you can get your hands on one preferably a 4 string and review it for us
Great reviews. Straight to the point and no filler “blah blah”
Thank you for these awesome reviews!
Thanks Rocker!
Short scale basses are so much fun to play. This one is gorgeous and in that other color even more so. ❤
I totally agree!

Thanks Nighttrain, I think it's something you'd get used to.
Now that I`m old I love short scale basses. Looks a little pricey but if it`s good it`s worth it.
I liked it. Very good quality.

Great review, as always! I've been considering one of these, so your review was very helpful. 👍
Glad to hear it!
I'm with you!

It would be interesting to compare this bass to the Fender Mustang PJ Player II that is similarly priced.
I agree if I could get my hands on a mustang

Hey Marc, I've heard but haven't seen one yet. If I can get my hands on one I'll certainly review it.
@@BobBlackBass Appreciate it Bob I know your review will be unbiased that's why I suggested it to you thanks again
It looks like the frets are fanned. I guess it is your wide angle lens.
Yeah that's probably it.
What sucks to me is why Schecter doesn't offer a full scale bass like this at a good price.
Hey Kenny, I've been eyeing the p4. Not the vintage one.
It would be nice to actually hear the bass....and not the bass in the room.
Hey Slider, I don't do any processing. You can make the worst bass sound great running it through a daw and into a program.
I prefer to demo instruments as if you were sitting in the room next to me
