Appreciate the content man, I watch your channel, gentry boys, and cleetus mcfarlands RUclips channel everyday on lunch at work. Yall are doing great work with what yall do
We love ya Timbo!! And thank you for helping out the Cancer survivors, I survived kidney cancer back in 2006, and I watch every on e of your videos. Can't wait for you to get back up here on I-90 here in the GREAT PACIFIC NORTHWEST
You give the hard working blue collar business owners hope that hard work will prevail!! It just takes really hard work. God bless you and your family Tim.
hey Tim watching over here from Australia love the Journey you family has taken the ups and downs and the fact you come back stronger than ever love what you do and how you do it.
Yeah I love watching you rebuild trucks especially starting the truck has been sitting for years I love watching it very good love it keep going keep going
My Husband watches you faithfully and would love for you to say Hi to him. His name is Thomas. He was so disappointed because we couldn't make LS fest this year.
Hey Tim. Love the content and the channel.Medical issues forced me to retire, but watching you trucking and fixing up the cab overs is something I always look forward to. Keep on keepin on, brother!
I gotta vent this. Drove the road for a long time but also haven’t for a long time. I owned a classic xl, drove many trucks. But my favorite ever was driving for jb hunt when they had the flat floor international cab overs. They were so cool. I didn’t have one for long before the century classes came in, my other favorite truck that I hated at first, but I loved it. At the time they were paying up to .41 cpm. I think I made like .25 and it was awesome. But that was a long time ago now. I can’t even drive again if I wanted to because of a break of my left leg and foot. But hell, it’s still nice to see a big freight liner. I’ll always miss it.
Hi Tim thought I’d say I enjoy your posts keep up the good work. I am from The south of England. I think once you get the truck back home it will be something small to fix. It always is when your in more relaxed surroundings all becomes clear. I have been in the motor trade since 1968 and man always wins over machine . Good luck safe journey home mate 👍
I mean technically you got it started!!! Take it as a win man and not a defeat. You know it’ll start, but you just gotta figure out why it doesn’t stay running. I’ve got faith in ya!!
I know where a 1998 international 9800i is sitting in Southern California and it has been sitting for probably 15 years as of now. It has a 18 speed with 40k rears and a 12.7 detroit. The truck has about 400k miles on it and the owner originally intended to put it back in service but decided not to because of the upcoming carb emissions regulations at that time. I believe it was parked due to needing a clutch.
I’ve been watching his channel since the very birth of it, and it hasn’t disappointed or let me down in regards to content. Tim stands out more on how he holds himself as a person and a RUclipsr; you get the same person whether the camera is on or off. Tim’s kind of the American version of Steve Irwin, but with trucks and race cars. 😜🤣
With our old sterling trucks with the dd 60, ours would have problems not getting fuel due to the crossover for the tanks being clogged or the davao filter check valve sticking or just the orings for the davao filter being pinched/dried out etc. Hope to see it running, awesome purchase tim
Did you check those hots and grounds going from Batteries and going to the Computer. I used to mechanic for a truckin company And my boss had to pay 3500.00 dollars to tow one of his friegt shakers off the George Washington Bridge in NYC and He towed it home. And I had it running 5 minutes after it was there. Theres 2 hots and 2 grounds wires that go to batteries with eyes on them. And they were corroded off. Thats how those were wired the early Detroit 60 Series. But I would imagine you checked them already. I worked on alot of those classics. Great trucks...
Same here, that’s what got me started on his channel, an I love the family affair of it all, but I wonder 💭 what happened to both the Airforce Truck and his brothers Marine Build.. it’s like they’re not there now… one thing about Tim… he Loves goin down “multiple” Rabbit 🐇 Holes 🕳 before finishin ONE
Could use a bath and a good buffing on that paint clean the wheels up and chrome chrome chrome LED light ohyeah make that puppy shining like a brand new dime make it light up like a Christmas tree oh yeah
I would love to have that cutlass , my friend bought a 2000 same truck as what you got there , He gave $25,000 bucks for it 4 years ago , 3 months ago he just done a out of frame engine in it a Detroit , It is really a nice ride , These guys let these trucks set at least they can do go out there and fire them up every 3 months let them run for about an hour or too , Try and take the hose from the fuel filter and stick it in a 5 gallon can of diesel and see if it runs if it stays running that way you know where to start trouble shooting
Hey Tim it would be awesome and really humble of u to say hi or something back to me I love ur videos and everything u do especially when it comes to being a good dad and husband. That’s my favorite part of u
I seen a truck like that. Ended up being a check valve that went bad. A fresh rebuild from a new mechanic. He ran four bottles of ether and destroyed the new engine. Another rebuild later and it still wouldn't start. So they asked my grandfather to look at it. He pulled the check valve out (little rubber ball) and it was destroyed. Let's the fuel return to the tank.
Love that you keep the old stuff on the road! The new stuff is too much. More sensors lights and alarms than any driver will ever need. I'll take what Walmart gives me though.
Pickup in the tank might be to short or parts missing , how much fuel did you put in ? My tractor needed 25 gals to start , shut the crossover off and use one tank .
Hello from LaFayette! I enjoy ALL of your videos, and it was a pleasure meeting you and talking with you at the shop last summer. Like I told you, you're an inspiration to me and keep up the GREAT work on the channel!
I drove a 98 Freightliner flat top with a 63” sleeper Detroit series 60 with a 18 speed and a wet kit, all polished wheels dark blue metallic, walking floor with stainless sides.
Damn Tim you could have made the video about getting it to the house man instead of just watching them starter get put on it and little bit of work done on them the fuel system come on man make your videos longer and better
Finding a Freightliner Classic is like finding a plate of fresh fried chi Ken on the table. When painted and polished they are awesome. Been running them for 22 years. Nothing better.
I was twin stick driver of an army 10 ton 6x6 35 years ago. It was a great time! Would love to do it again. You have a great RUclips channel! Thanks, John
I found an old 82 freightliner cabover near where I live and if I wasn't saving up to buy a house I'd be all over it, all these videos like this and the MURICA build are definitely inspiring
Wow you went above and beyond on this one , thanks for trying to get it started and I know once you get it back to the shop you'll get it then , excellent video tonight Tim thanks for sharing your story with us !! But it will run again!!
I apply air to fuel tank vent hose with caps closed the check valve in vent hose holds the pressure. Just don’t put to much and slowly unscrew cap after it starts .
I'm an ole retired trucker. I ran everything from a 318 Detroit to 290 Cummings. To Mercedes Benz engines. Most of the time when they would run on either but sputter off on fuel. It was some dirty fuel filters. I sure wish I was still out there. Lung disease and blindness said noooo tho
I love will it start videos ! There are a bunch of cabovers by the road in michigan. I'll keep my eye out. I work with those 60 series detroits every day, good engines 👍
Tim, love the channel. Got to meet you on the last day of Raceweek in Noble when you were trying to get loaded and on the road. I appreciate you taking the time to talk with me. Keep up the great work.

God bless you and your family Tim.
Hey Tim, those fuel lines are old enough that they could be collapsing inside. They'll look fine on the outside, but collapse on the inside.
My dad was a long hauler until he passed away 15 years ago he would have loved your videos for sure
Father inlaw had a 2000 classic with a 16 liter 3406 and an 18 speed. That was a sweet truck, and would pull like a freight train.
Don’t give Tim any more ideas. He has plenty of them as it is. 🤣😂
Watch this in Celle (a more than 1000 year old town in northern Germany) because I like old US Trucks and your passion!
hey Tim watching over here from Australia love the Journey you family has taken the ups and downs and the fact you come back stronger than ever love what you do and how you do it.
Liked by another Aussie trucker !
Love watching you and your kids brax is a very special young man hes gonna do awesome things hes got so much knowledge for such a young kid
Sounds like the lines could be old to the point where they're sucking air through the hoses instead of fuel.
Yeah I love watching you rebuild trucks especially starting the truck has been sitting for years I love watching it very good love it keep going keep going
My Husband watches you faithfully and would love for you to say Hi to him. His name is Thomas. He was so disappointed because we couldn't make LS fest this year.

Hi Tim,,,
I think the Thing-A-Ma-Jig is loose next to the What-Cha-Ma-Call-It. You'll figure it out Tim! 💯💯💯
That truck has an interesting patina from sitting in the sun that long. I wonder how far that red paint could be restored with a buff.
Probably not at all, the clear coat looks like it's completely gone. Buffing it would likely take paint off it.
I think you're going to fix that truck up for yourself you're going to love that truck it has big potential
You said you would drive it 500 miles home then you said it was only 250 miles home did I miss something ???????????????
