another good trick (like the carpet one) is to have a fan running and blowing air on you while you're in a VR session. One: because you can get hot using VR, but also Two: it gives you a sense of direction. So if you have the fan in front of you blowing on you and your turn around and feel the air against your right side, you know where the 'front' is, it's towards the air blowing on you.
Also you can use a sweat mask, or a tennis headband to stop any sweat going inside the headset I broke one headset because getting too sweaty dancing for 2 hours on vrc.
I didn't have much motion sickness and didn't know about the light ruining the lenses, but thankfully I had it in an area that was not exposed to light, so it didn't get any damage. I literally have my headset put under my bed, seems like the safest spot for me.
as someone who plays VR alot... ive noticed most of us vr users... put these in horrible spots like ontop of our laundry bin or some $hi*. i keep it on my desk facing away from the sun
I used to clean my lenses with my shirt or a napkin, thank god it didn’t do some serious damage, it’s just a teeny bit blurry. Thank you for these tips! Edit: Would it work if you put a blanket or a cloth on top of your oculus so the sun doesn’t get in if you can’t get the lens protector?
i used to clean my lense with my shirt but the only bad thing that happened from it was a tiny crack that is only visible by looking up and trying to find it.
I haven’t gotten motion sick from my quest 2 and I also only look around when playing and always check after a little while if I’m in the middle of my guardian space

Well I agree with you, but I heard it gets worse if you have shorter hair or a weird head shape, or even just tighten it too much and the plastic digs in

@derp7302 Yeah, that too. I've literally witnessed actual nude or almost nude avatars on a PUBLIC server in VR chat. Especially NSFW Femboy My Little Pony and furry avatars. That would've traumatised tf outta me if I was 11
The Last mistake Kind of took me off guard because I’ve been playing the oculus a while now and I had no idea that if you face the sun I could ruin the lens, I only thought if you were outside it would slowly destroyed it
Quick question, is it ok to carry around a headset in a pillow case? Because ive been doing that alot since i dont want to pay extra for an official quest case
Hey,just a question uhh I got some new sun glasses and they cam with like these "cloths" to clean them and they felt nice cleaned well and didnt scratch the glasses lends is it ok if I use it for my VR? I haven't used it yet but just wondering
the motion sickness goes away as well as the need of a gaurdian once you play for 8 months or something, i reccoment gorilla tag for helping both of those faster
I dont even get motion sick and ive only been playing vr for like a week now i guess i have immunity or smthin because i can play vr for around like 2 hours until my battery dies
is it only sunlight that can damage it cus like i used a flashlight to look for scracthes on the lenses once, also is there a way to like fix or change the lenses cus i fr got my quest 2 yesterday and ive been wiping the lenses with my shirt and isee some scratches and i also feel the vision has gone blurryer
Question I played in the sun with my quest 2 once how do I fix it do I just replace the display and if so how do I do it also will it erase the oculus memory if I get a new display
i dont have a window in my room but i go outside alot so my oculus never really gets sun which is really good for it, i have had it for a long time now and i its still top quality so im happy :) Edit: lil bit of typos
Never leave it charging overnight or when you're away. Leaving it charging for too long not only damages the battery life but can also overheat and fry/melt the charging port. Be careful man. I leave my quest charging on a desk fan so it doesnt overheat and I check the battey % every once in a while and unplug it at like 90%
bro i had some form of vertigo and VR helped me over come it the first few times i did feel nausea and dizziness but i kept on playing and helped me overcome it.
I'm 9 and I have one but it hasn't done anything bad to my eyes but even more below I think that could ruin there vision I'm not on it all the time because it takes so long to charge and I'm trying to get bone works VR from cleaning.
Hi mate so yesterday I was adjusting the lenses on my quest 2 but my finger slipped and my nail and finger went across the lens of the headset. I have been playing on it and it seems fine but I was wondering how close I was to ruining my headset with scratches or do you think I I already got them on it from that? I only got this headset a few days ago so ye.
I did the mistake of scratching my lens and know I only n can play for 20 minutes then it says tracking lost.and then it wont stop saying it after it happened
I have never gotten motion sick in VR, only butterflies in my stomach, and the only game I got butterflies in my stomach is when I played that astronaut spacewalk game.
I wiped my lens with my flannel shirt right before watching this💀💀 thankfully I havent damaged the lenses at all yet.
yeah dont do that 💀
I’m a menace I use my fingers while having a microfiber cloth
@@kaysarinc i got a headstrap and it came with a microfiber lens wipe
Bro I do that all the time
What i do, is buy a phone hydrogel anti scratch, cut them and paste it on the lens. That way i dont need to worry about scratches when wiping

it only gets affected to direct sunlight cuz of the heat getting magnified through the lens
i just keep it in a little corner in my room so that really nothing happens to it.
Same here, I was so scared of messing it up that everytime i took a break from using it i put it back in the box
Can i use those glasses cleaners you get for free with glasses cases to clean it?
as someone who plays VR alot... ive noticed most of us vr users... put these in horrible spots like ontop of our laundry bin or some $hi*. i keep it on my desk facing away from the sun

you could also keep the headset in a dark place like a drawer or ur closet
My cat ate mine and puke it up. Do you think that that’s bad for my headset
I haven’t gotten motion sick from my quest 2 and I also only look around when playing and always check after a little while if I’m in the middle of my guardian space
I have a distinct jagged corner on my guardian, so all I have to do is stretch my hand out and see the corner, so I know where I am

Get your child off of vr its not meant for them vr is 13+. Plus i have seen children in game like vrchat which can be very inappropriate
Dude, did you not watch the video? Kids under 12 should not be on VR.
@@memeeater420 I guess they should not be going to the range and riding 4 wheelers either lol

I found this useful as I've been looking to find something to clean the lens of my quest 2

just stick to microfiber tbh, I’ve never used pre moisturized wipes with my quest before
Is age 11 ok?
I didn't know anything about how to take care of a vr but I took some research and I haven't made a by of these mistakes at all, :)
