To solve your problem of different colors, you can sell 1 generic bag that includes 4 different color “sleeves” that are interchangeable. Swap the color in the front pocket if you want to go from pink-blue for example. That would solve your inventory issue since any bag can be used for any color :)

If you're in love with your copy, move that to the top. 4) My first impression was that the bag looked like a generic $50-100 no-name bag. It does not look like $350 to me. When I think $350 carry-on, I think stylish hard case, something that looks cool or higher-status coming around the conveyor belt. Not utilitarian plain black canvas with anonymous generic branding. Given this, you need to push hard the dual-compartment feature since you're not likely to get anyone to pay $350 just looking at it. 5) The site design and product photography leave quite a bit to be desired, but that can be overcome if the product is truly great and you have great reviews and word of mouth. For $100k, though, all of this should've been much better. "Lifestyle" photos of the bag sitting on the dirty floor of your garage ... you can do much better. You probably have car spotters pinging you left and right for photoshoots; find the best one and have him or her get you right. 6) Make it zero risk for someone to try your new, unknown brand. Be loud about free and easy shipping and returns. Make the return policy super long (90 days?) with no weird caveats (no "must be in resellable condition" or anything like that). Not only do you want to make it easy for someone to give you a shot, you want the returns so that you can learn and improve the product/messaging/etc. You can always change the policy if things get out of hand, but if they're getting out of hand, you have bigger problems (your product probably isn't worth the $350). 7) You should've made the site and tried to sell first, BEFORE sinking $100k and 2 years, so you could validate the idea. I’ve watched the video a few times now and I am honestly still trying to see the unique part. I get the separation but my bag already has two compartments like that, and I already use one for dirty when I am on the way back, it even has a zipper to access the back which I can use to put stuff with even more separation.
Eh, people grow up and that type of stuff just isn’t as fun. Once you have kiddos and they are not babies any longer, you have a lot more responsibilities and care taking/risk aversion. Like mid 40s you should be not doing stuff that could leave your family without you. Just wait until Whistlin Diesel is the same age as Rob is now, he’ll be doing the same thing.
I always take the flimsy laundry bag from the hotel room. These hotels charging $50 "resort fees" in many areas like Vegas and NY. I consider it part of that fee. It probably costs them $0.02 cents.
I've been in hotels in other countries that didnt have them. Or I was staying with someone else and there was only one bag. Or an airbnb. Or camping. Or staying at a friend's house.
In my experience it's a very US thing. Most hotels in Europe don't have them, unless you explicitly ask if they do laundry, or the nightly rate is more than Rob's luggage retail price.
I swear to God the comments section of every video must be 80% dudes living in their parent's basement complaining about things instead of going out to try and fix their own problems. Rob, good luck, brother. Cool seeing this come to fruition regardless of how many get sold. You set out to fix your problem and got it done. Most people just keep complaining. Salute.

Zero R&D. The first ones broke before a year of use, these haven’t really been tested all that well. Great point on the other side being sealed with stinking clothes, which is normal for any bag, but horrible for a bag that is marketed as one that separates used clothes.
You were already having problems unzipping that center partition, so you think this will hold up 10+ years? My man, offer these for 50-100 dollars, make it a budget luggage company, because that's what these bags are. Don't be delusional about your product.
Great job Rob, remember those that criticize are those that are doing less than you. An idea for wheels, there is an office chair by uplift, their optional casters are like rollerblade wheels and would be a great addition to the bag for casters.
The reason there was no patent is because people use a garbage bag for the bags main feature. That being said, people are generally stupid. You will probably sell a lot of these if you can find a way to get your MSRP to S150. Additionally you will have to overcome the cost of educating your customer as to why your bag is better and what problem it solves. Both very expensive endeavors. I wish you luck. You need to binge watch shark tank.
Group customer sampling and testing will help That will help with the colours breakdown and the volume breakdown. Just because you like it doesn't means others will. Your making for others not yourself. There may be things you have forgotten that is import to others. Stock Better to make less money now but sell all of the stock than to get stock in that no one wants. Good luck I will enjoy watching this project.
The whole I didn’t like the tag to be big so I made it a little square was part of the “I like it so others should”. In reality they are bigger because they are business card size, not some random size square
Looks great. Question though: When the top compartment is opened, with the "basket" on the inside of the flap, the zipper opening for that is down by the zipper hinge. You can see it at 8:07. Why? Personally, I hate that location for that zipper. I have a suitcase like that and it's horribly annoying. The vast majority of the time my suitcase is on one of those suitcase stands in the room, and those are only big enough for the open compartment to lean against the wall, not lay flat. So the zipper for that opening is at the bottom of the "basket". So opening the zipper, everything can fall out. I much prefer that zipper on the other side.
I have followed from the beginning and it's great that you are near the finish line. I would love to have one but I already have a pretty good bag that I'm happy with as I don't travel that much. Great job though.
The product looks good but I'm a bit confused, all the suitcases I have, already utilize a separation "membrane" in them. Not sure what's game changing about your product. My case was like 50 quid on amazon. It's hard cased so if it's been thrown around the airport you'd know cos it will be cracked instead of opening up your bag to find all your toiletries have exploded. $350 dollars is a very premium price for what is a small to medium sized suitcase that offers no tangibly superior qualities.
I’m struggling to see the difference between this bag and the one I bought 15 years ago at Walmart for like 70 bucks.. Oh, wait, the one I got from Walmart has extra pockets in the front for easy access items.
Honestly the price isnt the issue, but the marketing definitely is. You should 100% invest in an actual proffesional product photographer, you'd be amazed how big of a difference it'd make it sales.
Ditch the 4 wheels , go to 2 rollerblades, 1 piece aluminum handle, better zippers, and offer a lifetime warranty and market to airline crews that will kick the shit out of it🤣
I have an inexpensive bag that has seen a lot of use. Don’t even remember where it came from I’ve had it so long. Still works great and the plastic bag I use for dirty clothes keeps the dirty separate from the clean.
Rob - this doesn't come from a position of hate whatsoever, I promise. But this isn't what I was expecting, it's just a difficult industry to be a startup in. Predicting volume as you mentioned, but then that's a balancing act for marketing vs volume too - you don't want to be caught on the wrong side chasing sales. I typed in "Best case under $350" - Away travel - "Carry on" - $275. Granted it doesn't have the cushiony separation yours does, but it does have two different nets on top of either side. It also has a laundry bag included with the case... Zips that pop up, and a digit lock. Sorry Rob.
Not gonna lie, I want one of these. Probably going to buy one when I can order it and have it show up vs. save $100 and wait, but definitely find the features very appealing for the sort of travel that I do. Garbage bags are well and good but not perfect, especially if you are a sweaty stinky person like me. It also seems like a great place to put some shoes and segregate the stink a bit more.
Hopefully you own the patent as well which could generate huge dollars if this catches on. ALSO, make sure the zippers are BOMB PROOF. Ever had a suitcase zipper malfunction and your Uber is 4 minutes away? Please.......good luck, Rob.
It looks about the quality of my travel pro carry on which I paid $200 for. A lot of suitcases nowadays have two sides(hard sided) The only benefit to this one is it soft-sided but the $350 price tag I think it's too much. If it's travel pro quality 150 to 200 max. I'm sure the profits large on this and we'll see some discounts come future. Woth discount its $250 so its close to where it should be. Also how much volume is inside because that's important to put on the site. 37l? 47l?
Dope. To all that say too expensive. You are not the target audience. If I was traveling on a weekly or even monthly basis I'd buy one instantly. Blue. Blue one looks beautiful. Like a dodge vipe r
Rob - Have you tested this fitting into a domestic short haul overhead bin? Most of us who fly north south routes have to have what’s called an intercontinental carry on because traditional ones don’t fit into an overhead bin on CRJ’s and Embreaer air craft
Its interesting to see all the paid for and schill poaitive comments legit acting like this is some kind of revolutionary odea or invention. A bag with 2 compartments. Yikes.
So the dirty side is also a removable laundry bag? That really is gane changer then. Even if its just the separation feature i still really like the idea but i don't think I'd use it over a separate laundry bag for washing while traveling
Looks great. I would offer fewer SKUs early on (fewer colours) even with the kickstarter. Maybe just two colours, red (or blue) and pink. I'm sure your audience is 95% male so won't buy pink; they might for their wives or not dare buy a bag for them. Fewer SKUs could help with planning, logistics, E&O, financing and storing inventory, and volume pricing down the line.
Do they or will they come in bigger sizes? I ALWAYS check my suitcase. I think I roll with a 29” Tumi 19° right now. Yours are carry-on for sure, but if they came in bigger sizes, I’d be interested. Also, it better roll like a dream, ‘cause this Tumi sure does!

Best of luck Rob!
What hotel doesnt have complimentary dirty clothes bags. Who or HOW would anybody steal a laundry bag from a hotel?
I've been in hotels in other countries that didnt have them. Or I was staying with someone else and there was only one bag. Or an airbnb. Or camping. Or staying at a friend's house.
In my experience it's a very US thing. Most hotels in Europe don't have them, unless you explicitly ask if they do laundry, or the nightly rate is more than Rob's luggage retail price.
Please use meatballs for a volumetric unit of measurement in your suitcases.
Salute.
So the people who aren't simping are the ones living in their parents basement?
Right... lol
@@flammenjc You're exactly what I'm talking about. Doesn't take a genius to understand this. You don't have to like it. Don't have to simp all over the dude. Am I gonna buy it? No. Doesn't fit a need that I have. But I didn't come on here and tell someone who saw a problem they had, took the time to fix their problem and is now offering that solution to others, that his product sucks because it doesn't fit my need. And also tell it in a rude and unnecessary manner. Instead, I congratulate him for setting out to do something and continuing that until he got it done--Whether it's a product I like or not. Again, not complicated. But way easier to get in the comments and say something derogatory you hope other clowns will click thumbs up. Lol. Pretty pathetic. Just be happy for the dude and keep it moving. Last I'll ever see of this. Way more important things to do than continue responding to deaf ears.
@@ARPLATINUM Why u mad about capitalism bro?
Criticism of products is what the free market is all about
@@flammenjc again...cool with criticism. And I'm a full time youtuber, so I'm all about capitalism. Up at 2am finishing an extensive and complicated tax return. Lol I'm all about it. Not cool with people being a douche when they criticize. Criticize...make all the things that I, him, everyone do better!!! But people don't have to be absolute trash when they do it. That's not criticism at that point. It's some dude being a dick to be a dick. Like me going to your channel where someone left a comment that says "Why hasn't this song blown up yet!" And I reply with "cause it sucks, this guy is an idiot". Like, come on man...if you don't like it...cool. lmk what parts you don't like. Lmk what you would have done differently....but nah...most people take the low hanging fruit--Cause it sucks. Lol...ok man. That's what I'm talking about. Anyway....good luck to you dude. Hope your music does blow up. Wishing nothing but success to people. Be good. I'm out. ✌️
most people know what a garbage bag is
At $150 - $180 I would place an order, but at $350, I don't travel enough to get that amount of money out of it. Hope it goes well Rob
You didn’t really prove that the bag works. Put a damp suit from an indoor swimming pool on one side. Everything on the bag will smell like chlorine
Damn has it been 2 years 😮
I know right i woulda said maybe a year
Great job Rob, remember those that criticize are those that are doing less than you.
I never used a garbage bag. I like this bag concept. I travel monthly.
Group customer sampling and testing will help
That will help with the colours breakdown and the volume breakdown.
Just because you like it doesn't means others will.
Your making for others not yourself. There may be things you have forgotten that is import to others.
Stock
Better to make less money now but sell all of the stock than to get stock in that no one wants.
Good luck I will enjoy watching this project.
The whole I didn’t like the tag to be big so I made it a little square was part of the “I like it so others should”. In reality they are bigger because they are business card size, not some random size square
$350????? Its called put your dirty clothes in a plastic bag when packing to go home.
$350 for a bag???? wow!!
this is a very smart idea, idk how many hotel bags Ive stuffed my dirty laundry into lol
But did you buy one?
@@johnnychimpo7539waiting on order update 😂
Does it pay you (in crypto) for the miles you fly after you subscribe for $25? Sounds like a good sponsor.
I have followed from the beginning and it's great that you are near the finish line. I would love to have one but I already have a pretty good bag that I'm happy with as I don't travel that much. Great job though.
you can hold a lot of spaghetti in these
$350 for a $60 piece of luggage? Good luck. You're definitely not getting a Pagani. Maybe a good used dirt bike
🤣
If you're on a trip, and you get to 100% dirty, you can use both sides of the suitcase😂😂
☠️😂😂😂
I have a Samsonite bag that I paid $99 for at TJ Maxx and it's 10 years old and looks great with travel 8-10x's per year, so.......
$350 🤣😂🤣🤣😂😅 What a joke...
$350 is crazy Robert
This was 2nd place for best luxury product?? And from what award company??
From SSTA (Spaghetti & Spaghetti Travel Association)
Does your secret pouch get product through screens in Columbia?? If so I'll take a 1000
Maybe you can stitch up the color part in US or offer removable colored stripes so people can change it up depending on their mood/ outfit
Sorry Rob.
I believe exactly 10% whatever Mr spaghetti said.
And those wheels cut a lot of room when using a gate sizer
I carry a $4 mesh stuff sack and put my dirty laundry in it when I'm done with it.. 🤷
The Chinese will have it knocked off and will be pushing out on Amazon soon enough for half the price. If they haven't yet
It just shows how little effort those mega corporations do when an amateur with the help of some design firm can do a product of such quality.
You mean the revolutionary idea of a bag with 2 compartments??
Today Mr spaghetti sends his ziplock to the masses
Does the 22in Height include the wheels?
$250 sounds like a lot for this bag
Are Tumi made in the same plant? That quality level? Great bag! Congrats!
Hopefully you own the patent as well which could generate huge dollars if this catches on. ALSO, make sure the zippers are BOMB PROOF. Ever had a suitcase zipper malfunction and your Uber is 4 minutes away? Please.......good luck, Rob.
7:31 "HI! ITS ROB WITH FLIPSIDE "
Keep us posted on how this disaster unfolds
Rob, Tumi, away etc. the market on this is so saturated. This is essentially a samsonite product. Sorry man but nothing here reads revolutionary
Also you’re a car guy. Making luggage that first different sports car trunks would have been a WAY better idea.
Yikes.
What watch brand/model is Rob wearing in this video?
So the dirty side is also a removable laundry bag? That really is gane changer then. Even if its just the separation feature i still really like the idea but i don't think I'd use it over a separate laundry bag for washing while traveling
You need to fix your website... it looks like an aliexpress terminal
Prime example of sticking to what you know and works. Don't branch out to business you don't have a clue about when your others are doing well.
Why the heck would you wanna have a luggage brand .???? Too much competition seems like too many companies do it.
The website looks like its made by a 1st grader.
$350 😂😂😂 holy spaghetti
Do they or will they come in bigger sizes? I ALWAYS check my suitcase. I think I roll with a 29” Tumi 19° right now. Yours are carry-on for sure, but if they came in bigger sizes, I’d be interested. Also, it better roll like a dream, ‘cause this Tumi sure does!
Bro, I think orange color would look siiick
They look fine. I like the white or an all black version.
I can think of a way to improve it in a BIG WAY.
Today, Mr. Spaghetti introduces to his luggage company, the Traveling Meatball.
