A comment...:
For anybody wanting to know, These songs are connected in a deleted series Ghost made
Here are short descriptions for the characters:
Francis Elsner (ROTARY DIAL lady) is a possessive and colorblind mother, she didn’t let Henry out of her sight or out the house ever since her husband left her, she was also harmful to Henry too.
Henry Elsner (BLACK AND WHITE man) escaped his harmful mother and ran off with Nancy he too is also colorblind. He was killed later on by Nancy, he also worked as a journalist.
Nancy Elsner (HOUSEWIFE RADIO lady) a housewife who has abandonment issues, she didn’t want Henry to leave her, so she killed him by slicing his neck with a kitchen knife and later regretting it, then killing herself in the basement with Henry laying on the floor.
Kennith Simmons (BROADCAST ILLUSIONS AND COLORBARS kid) a broadcaster who killed an entire city then himself in the end.

Another comment...:
So this is what I know and have read and heard. So Frances (Rotary Dial) is the mother of Henry (Black & white) Henry’s dad left Frances before Henry was born (I am pretty sure) so Frances kinda went crazy saying “we’re gonna die one day” (and also started calling the father a bunch I think the last time I heard this story was like 6 years ago) and things like that, but she was also paranoid that Henry would leave her like his dad did. Now Henry had a childhood friend Nancy (Housewife Radio) she has synesthesia which is almost like she can (of what I remember pls don’t judge me just correct me if I’m wrong) See (or hear) colors in peoples voices. So Henry was always fascinated by Nancy’s “ability” and then when they got older they got married. Frances didn’t like that and tried to cut off all ties of their relationship. But Henry ran off with Nancy anyways. Now Nancy is started to grow paranoid that Henry will leave her like he left his mother. So she started constantly worrying about that and she reminded Henry of his mom, so he was like “I gotta get out of here, like I have to leave.” So one night he packed up his things in a suitcase and went for the door. But Nancy woke up went downstairs and saw him opening the door. So she panicked grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the face a whole bunch. Then she realized what she did and dragged him to the basement in denial that she just killed her husband. Then she started hearing the color of his voice in the radio (I’m pretty sure) and was like “no he’s alive I didn’t kill him” but then she realized and went down to the basement and hung herself.
Oh! Also, Henry was writing a letter to Nancy before he tried to leave. Which was a horrible idea. But that is why he talked about his last words being in black and white.

no joke i think its really cool that ghost made that one part of housewife radio say black & white most likely also referring to henrys note or the fact that his song is titled black and white
They also referenced rotary dial in the beginning I’m pretty sure
@@CLU2T3RZ yeaj
@@axestarrand Henry saying life in the beginning
I think the actual reason was due to Nancy's synesthesia, and his colors in her vision are Black and White, so when she hears his voice via radio, it shows up in her vision in Black and White.
Also the “life, life, life…” in the first 3
my homeboy forced me to listen to these songs now i am chronically blasting them everyday
Chris if u read this SCREW YOU BUT ALSO THANK YOU 🫶
My phone crashed and emitted a buzzing noise similar in frequency to an electric razor and a really angry flying bug, i thought it was part of the song until the screen went black
Almost all of ghost’s songs have an angry flying bug sound in then i think
Was the phone ok?
What kind of phone do you have..
It was a galaxy note 💀
My phone does weird stuff a lot
2:22 Rotary dial has the 'Stitch, Sew, Cut, Pull' Part from Housewife radio, but instead of Pull, it's ties. I thought that was cool. And then in Black & White some of the instrumental is basically the instrumental of Housewife Radio but it's altered. So both are connected to Housewife Radio. I never knew communications existed I thought it was just one song-
stitch, sew, cut ties
stitch, sew, live and die
stitch sew, I tried
stitch, sew, you’re/im alive
Now I might just be looking too deep into the lore but I like how housewife starts with similar lyrics that we hear in phone. Stitch sew cut are in both songs. Almost as to tell us that the wife is not all that different to the mother. And has similar views and ideas. And the laughter.,
There’s also “I tried” which is something I noticed too. I also heard “I’m alive” in royalt dial
EXACTLY!!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! Gosh I love lore
At the time im writing this, Im already listening to Black & White and Ive been listening to this while I've also been playing one hour of silence occasionally broken up by Scooby Doo's laugh, Bababoy, Fart reverb, and monkey noises. Idk how but the sound effects are all fitting in some area of these songs

Lowkey happy to see people still interested in communications even though this video is months old!
Man I wish this series could either get remastered or reanimated or revived by someone else. I wouldn't mind if this story continued but I can understand why it won't return. I get that a lot but I mean still this has got so much potential to be brought back.
Edit: HOLY CRAP HIGHLIGHTED COMMENT?! THANK YOU SM YALL!!!
Edit 2: I think we deserve a reanimated series of Ghost and Pals communications. Like someone should get a bunch of animators together to make it something special just like the original. Also ColorBars and Housewife Radio are my favorites :)
Agreed.
You deserved it highlighted.

Those are my favorites too‼️
For anyone who wants to know how these songs are all linked:
(ROTARY DIAL) The first song is im pretty sure Henry's mom, who started being verbally abusive towards him then regretting it later, wanting to call him. He doesn't respond because he wanted to cut her off from his life.
(BLACK AND WHITE) Later, Henry marries his childhood friend Nancy who later in their relationship starts to become incredibly obsessive, he doesn't like this explaining "you're not the girl I used to know". He also doesn't like it because it really reminds him of his mom who later became obsessive. Because of all this, Henry tries to leave and write his last letter before he does, but oops!!! Nancy caught him in the act. He tries to say sorry and explain but its too late and she kills him for even thinking of leaving her because she has attachment issues and obsessive behavior.
(HOUSEWIFE RADIO)
Nancy then tries to forget everything, tries to sew to keep things off her mind, tries to distract the hell out of herself after she murders Henry. The radio, though, had other plans. Here's where things in this song get complicated so let me explain:
I'm pretty sure Nancy has synesthesia. Her song has tons of bright flashing colors.
This also suggests one reason why she loved Henry so much, because she saw colors whenever she heard his voice while everything else remained black and white.
Back to the radio part, while she was trying to sew to distract herself she ended up hearing COLORS IN THE RADIO BECAUSE SHE SWORE SHE COULD HEAR HENRYS VOICE. This, drove her absolutely insane. It crushed her. She ended up not being able to take it anymore because this radio played sounds that sounded like his voice every day at 7am, when she was awake. She ended up well uh... let's say she had to hang it there. (Oh my god)
(The last 2 songs idk) dont know too much about this part actually. I kind of believe it has something to do with Nancy but ended up being kind of different and not that related to the communications series
So yeah, this took time to write and I feel like this was the best I could do so anyone who sees this please, I want other people to see it
i was kinda confussed abt the lore behind this, tysm

Kenneth Simmons, the boy both of the PVS, Was dealing with major bullying and manipulation. He met this girl named Stephanie who friended him for a while until Stephanie took notice of kennith's suicidal thoughts and Misanthropy to the world. She dusts it off as some lame Excuse to be an attention seeker. Kenneth took this to heart. Eventually, he meets a new friend (in which I've forgot the name) They tell Kenneth about an epic prank of hacking the tv station and broadcasting himself. Easily persuaded, Kenneth agreed. Stephanie was watching TV until kenneth's broadcast shows up. He at first mocks everyone, until he remembers Stephanie. That's why in both the songs, we hear some lines that reference to betreyal and hatred. Eventually he tries to convince everyone watching to end themselves. After kenneth's ranting was concluded, shortly after.. He ended himself instead.
(Btw COLORBARS isn't a confirmed padt of the comminucations case since ghost didn't like the song, hence, broadcast illusion was created to recreate Colorbar's story, but a bit different of style. Hope this helps!)
Honestly, I love the little Easter egg in Housewife Radio. As you said, she could swear she heard Henry’s voice in the radio. If you play from 9:12 , you can hear Henry’s voice in the background. It’s easier to hear through headphones, but I think that’s such a cool detail.

Kennith is a part of a different case

Colorbars, Broadcast Illusion: Case 2
@@M1_1SHR00M ok thank you
I'm pretty sure that because he's a broadcaster, he ends up speaking in the radio.
BLACK&WHITE and Housewife Radio both talk about "the colors of his voice in the radio".

I really want to know the back story for all these songs, I think I get at least the back stories for the two called Black and white and House wife radio. But I would love to know how exactly they all fit together.
Francis (rotory dial woman) is Henry's (Black and White man) mother, But She was Abusive and left her, But She Kept Insisting on keeping tabs on Henry until Of Course, She kills him pretty much, Nancy (Wife of Henry and the Woman Of housewife Radio) can't live with this fact and Does what's shown in the song
Colorbars and Broadcast illusion are a completely different Story, I'd need a new reply to tell you all of it
So both songs are about the same guy, Kennith, who was a Gay guy And was bullied for it except for a Few Friends, Who He Had An Argument With, And after That He Is Basically manipulated Into highjacking National TV, But One Friend Tried to rescue Him, Only To find Kennith already killed By The Friend Who Manipulated him

It was a vent song at first time, but the song inspired them I think-
It wasn't until it was I believe
It used to be, but Ghost didn't like it so they made Broadcast Illusion which tells the same story
I genuinely need the lore for the ghost songs im so confused WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE WHO'S HENRY, HENRY AFTON LIKE WHAT
First 3 songs are connected in 1 story, here's the lore if you can be bothered to read it:
It's a part of a cancelled Series called "Communications", the first song features Henry's mother Francis (Henry being the guy in the second song), she was also drinking with friends and she was pregnant with Henry at a fairly young age and her partner left because of it. She would take her anger out on Henry when he was young and abuse him. Growing up Henry met Nancy (The girl in the third song), they decided to move away and get married (By this time Francis wasn't abusing Henry anymore but would also manipulate him and guilt trip into staying because now she really is alone).... Flash forwards and Francis keeps calling Henry to come back, she absolutely hates how they got married and ran away (evident by the lyrics "Joining hands in a beautiful marriage, its driving me mad") so she kept putting ideas in Nancy's head that Henry would leave her. Nancy then became clingy to Henry which reminded him of his manipulative mother, Henry didn't really get to meet with other women besides Nancy so he takes it more as Nancy becoming just as manipulative "You're not the girl I used to know, its killing me". Nancy realises Henry is actually going to leave her now so she kills him before he could step out the front door, she then lives the rest of her days feeling guilty and only hearing black and white in the radio (Forgot to mention Nancy has Sound-colour synthesia so she can see colors associated with sound, instead of seeing colors that represent Henry, she sees just black and white). She then hangs herself in the basement where she took Henry's dead body, this is evident at the end of the Housewife radio song where she has a noose around her neck.... Last 2 songs are an entirely different story, and I have already yapped so much....
Henry afton? Brother you know 0 lore about anything
@@Lunaswift375 jit exactly why i made this comment
@@sergantpig9932 This is a crazy theory, but I think the girl of the ,last songs is Francis cuz in the last one says "You had seen me before" and "I've always been here"
@@isabellavasquezpaz6034 The last 2 songs feature the same character and the same story, just it was remade because Ghost didn't like Colorbars as much (They look different, but they are the same person). The character in the last 2 songs is a boy named Kennith, they were bullied during high school for being gay, so i think the "I've always been here" was supposed to mean like "You cast me away like I was nothing, now here I am on the TV". (PS. Pretty sure Francis did pass away during this period because this story took place 20 years after Henry and Nancy's incident

yeah i need a explanation on what is happening-
@@Gear-works-studios-official ok basically it's not the real person going through this, it's telling a story made by Ghost (the creator of the songs)
ik but i need a explanation of whats happening, did she kill someone???
@@Gear-works-studios-official ok basically the communications series is in 2 parts. in the first part, Frances (the first girl in the rotary dial song) had a kid (Dex in the black and white song) who she neglected. He got married and then the neighbor killed him after overhearing frances' gossip (she was trying to split dex and his wife nancy (who appears in the housewife radio song). The neighbor framed nancy but the police didnt arrest anyone. just keep in mind that this isnt a true story its fake characters like a book
Oh boy.. Alright, here comes the theories:
So, let's start by analyzing and making a quick breakdown of all these songs.
*Rotary Dial:*
Starting by the first song, we have what seems to be a woman (a housewife, in particular) that is speaking to her husband. She talks about the fact that he's always outside and never answers the phone, and due to her being a housewife there's not much she can do. Suddenly her husband does something terrible, and for that reason the housewife in a fuel of rage snaps and decides to kill him drastically.
*Black&White:*
In this song, we are introduced to the husband that just died. The entire video is played from his prospective, he mentions his profound love for his wife and how it was slowly starting to drift away due to her not satisfying him anymore; and thus, he decides to seek for alternative sources of love through the "multiple women" he mentions thorough the song. In a particular frame you can see his head missing and his face is sketched out most of the time. To top that off, for a brief second a person holding a knife appears behind him as they put the knife in front of his neck; judging by the scenery, we can safely assume that the wife decided to behead the man due to him being an unloyal husband.
*Housewife radio:*
We're all the way back to the beginning. This time we're yet again watching from the wife's point of view, and the entire song seems to be based off events that directly happened following her husband's death. Thorough the entire song, the lady seems to be afflicted by some kind of deep regret (possibly the guilt of having murdered her own husband) and since the entire scenery seems to be based around stitching things together, i can only assume that in a last ditch effort, she tried to build him back together by stitching his head on his body, as she sings in the song about how her husband is now back to life. She seems to be in denial of what happened and so she's desperately trying to undo what she's done, believing her husband to be still alive. This song also obviously depicts her entire lifestyle as a stay-home wife prior to the accident.
*Colorbars:*
Now, this one is a little tricky: it took me a while to come to a reasonable conclusion just because the narrative changes so drastically, as the previous tool of the story (the radio) now EVOLVES and turns into its successor (the Television) and in the meanwhile, the attention completely shifts from her husband to something else.. Or so it seems.
In the song, we can see what i assume to still be the wife, just drawn in a different art style; she is apparently broadcasting some sort of ted talk to an unknown audience thanks to the new technology brought by the TV.. And that also means more colors, something that is mentioned multiple times in this song, but i believe that's not the point.
In this song, she eventually begins to talk about her emotions and personal thoughts. She unexpectedly opens up to what seems to be a wide audience in an intimate way that's usually not really recommended when on live TV, and my reading of this is that this entire song is directly correlated to the aftermath of the entire incident AND "coverup": she's not on literal live TV, she is opening up to people and admitting her crime because she has nothing left to lose anymore. You COULD technically see the mention of colors as just a mechanic of the newfound technology, but i believe it is supposed to indicate a new era as supposed to the other songs that were shown exclusively in black and white; now that she has freed herself from her own husband, she is reborn.
Alternatively, you could also see this as her literally "showing her true colors" by admitting to the murder she committed, thus revealing her true self. Overall, this final comment leads me to the next analysis:
*Broadcast illusion:*
I don't think i have much to say about this song since it's pretty much the same exact as Colorbars, just a bit different; however, i believe this gives us more of an hindsight as to why she hated her husband so much to the point of killing him, and why she felt so free after doing so:
You see, i have valid evidence to believe the man was abusive towards her wife. Despite showing his immense love, In his song the man talks to her wife in a pretty derogatory tone, treating her as a number or just one of his many women that he was supposedly dating. In Broadcast illusion, the lady seems to make lots of remarks about how she's always been there to everyone's surprise, and she expressed it in a way that seems to be told by a victim of domestic abuse that has been crying out for help but to no avail. Before inevitably going to prison for the crimes she confessed to committing, she decides to "broadcast" her thoughts one last time as a way to unmask and expose the truth about her abusive and cheating husband.
So, what do you guys think? I don't analyze songs that often (at least not to this extent) but if a particular one peeks my interest it becomes natural for me to read between the lines and make my own interpretation of it, which is exactly what i felt while following this entire story arc. Ghost's songs are extremely well crafted from SO MANY aspects; for instance, their music is so original that it has evolved a personality of its own to the point that people can listen to a song and go "oh yeah, that's definitely made by Ghost" and as an artist myself, i imagine that must be the pinnacle of success you can reach as one. It is truly something to aspire to. Her storytelling is also extremely intriguing and mysterious- some songs like these ones are rather direct, while others are cryptic and difficult to read without a proper dose of media literacy. The art style on itself is also very original and it overall compliments the eery vibes of the song as a whole, not to mention the writing of the lyrics that are crafted so majestically i truly believe they could write a novel flawlessly without a sweat. so what can i say? I'm just a big fan of Ghost as a creator, and i can't wait to see what more they have to offer!
Ok so, I've just read the actual story and turns out my interpretation is awfully incorrect. My point still stands lol
Nice in your opinion, but I believe another idea and the innocent person is not the woman, the man who is innocent, in my opinion and those 4 women are not the same person. The woman in panel 1 is the mother of the man in panel 2, the woman in panel 3 is the wife of the man in panel 2, and the person in panel 4 and the person in panel 5 are the same but not the same person as the other two women. I have an idea if you want, I'll tell you
boutta make a plurality thesis with this as the backbone on god
Now that's something I can eat popcorn too
Can someone explain how color bars and broadcast illusion are part of the story(or the lore ig) I thought color bars was a vent song
Yeah from what I heard colorbars was og a part of the series but was scrapped/remade, so it technically isn't apart of the series anymore
