    I find boat throttles to generally be a poor design for those wanting a delicate touch. Im sure more expensive boats have great throttle designs. For my little whaler i often grip it at the base and rest my hand on the gunnel to avoid any accidental slip/whiskey throttle.

      When docking, I just always put it into idle gear. I almost never need to use more power than idle gear.

    • @Muskieangler
      @Muskieangler 5 месяцев назад

      @@robramlose8657 Ya true for me with good conditions but I go out fishing rain or shine and use some pretty questionable boat launches that don't always have docks. I also tell the crew to sit tight rather than try to help out which usually does more harm than good.

      Exactly, if you leave your hand on top of grip, too easy to shove forward.

    One thing that would change a lot is forget the bow line. You don’t need one for a temporary docking. All you need if the tide is high is the midship line. If you want more than that stern and midship.

  • @dvybear

    Here's what I don't understand: this dock must be more difficult than it looks like because people are always screwing it up. But even in the worst conditions you can nose in, throw a line off the bow around those easy to laso posts, Then put it in reverse towards the dock. Youll end up right where you need to be.

      The good thing is though that air is lighter than water so some air gets trapped & they won't sink as fast.. if the hole is on the bottom of the pontoons. Lol

    You can only sink a pontoon by allowing water to enter the pontoon(s) or adding enough weight to overcome the buoyancy.

    First boat: I don't think it was naturally trying to go to 4, her actions were making it go that way. She was repeatedly steering and shifting the opposite of what she should have.
    Second boat: If Bronco hadn't been talking we would have heard them talking and probably known if they collided.

    This Broncos Guru guy seems like an elitest. I quote him from this video: "This is a different scene, looks like wifey gonna be the captain on this one, and our guy is gonna be in charge of lines."
    He also apologized to the viewers for using the backup camera guy for this video.
    Apparently, wifeys and backup camara guys are substandard to "our guy, Broncos Guru."

    Motor boats are far more maneuverable than cars. I don't see why people have such difficulty docking. Can any of these people parallel park a car? I've seen sail boat skippers routinely slide gently up to the dock in anything form very windy conditions to so calm a paddle had to be used. What the hell is wrong with these power boaters? They even have reverse but still they just can't sidle up to the dock.
