Unfortunately his heightened opinion of himself always prevented him from being open enough to believe he needed to improve or get some consistency... The documentary he released on himself proved that. Pure self-indulgence. A sense of self gratification that was way beyond reality. Injuries didn't help, and he was always scapegoated far too much at United. But my god, what a player he could've been if he had the mentality and work ethic of a Ronaldo or a Haaland.
He had 10 wonderful years are footballer. At least financially ... and a World Cup !

The move to United was the wrong move for Pogba and United. I wish we had signed Kante the year we signed Pogba. The constant circus with Pogba was annoying, all United fans wanted to see was him hit the highs we all knew he was capable of. I will say however I don't think he was ever utilised correctly. He should have had a free role with someone anchoring off him like France did with Kante. At United he never had that, had we signed someone like Casemiro earlier we might have seen it. Either way the whole episode was a waste.

It is interesting to consider whether his doping was a last ditch attempt to get back into the sport, or (sadly, more likely) reflects a career long reliance on PEDs. I think the doping agency decided to pick on him because he is well known, but also on his way out of football - making him a safe target and a warning to others
