Select Cases - SPSS (part 1)

Demonstration on how to select cases in SPSS data files. Learn how to do the basics, as well as use the very useful OR operation |, which can be used to select non-contiguous levels within a particular variable.

I'm trying to build a Confidence Interval with a Filter. Separating regions 1 and 2 ; C. Interval for 1 and C. Interval for 2 but nothing seems to work. Any help?

Yes. At the bottom of the 'Select Cases' window, you'll see the following option: 'Delete unselected cases'. SPSS will delete the unselected cases and you can save the altered file to a new name.

Hello from China from a Russian student! Thank you for your videos, I've been watching them from time to time and find them very useful!
I have a question, what if I have 10 continuous variables and 1 binary outcome. When I try to check for linearity of logit for 10 IV's, it shows me very low values of Exp(B) in Variables in the equation table, therefore the assumption is not met. I am confused about how to deal with this situation.

Use 'Select cases' under 'Data' and then got to 'cCondition satisfied' the e.g. variable 1 = 1 AND variable 2 = 2. I mjs say it took me a while as the vertical line and '&' did not seem to work but this works perfectly

Either you accidentally included your selected IV as the DV, or when you selected cases, the DV no longer has any variability in the scores.
