I was born in Houston, moved to Austin for college, and now live in Dallas. Houston has by FAR the best food scene of the three, partly because of the fact that it’s a big port city. It has probably the best Vietnamese in the country and also has unbelievable Chinese, Japanese, Indian, middle eastern, Greek, Cajun, and (obviously) Mexican.
If you want BBQ, Austin is where you go. Austin has a bunch of other really good restaurants, but it’s just not big enough compared to the other two cities to compare overall.
Dallas has an amazing Thai scene-no idea why. It doesn’t have much that stands out to me in general other than that, but I’d say it has better food than Austin overall (besides BBQ) just because of the difference in size and diversity.

The original Salt Lick is Barbecue in a category by itself. It is genuine Texas Barbecue and it is different from all the others. It is still my favorite!

I LOVE Salt Lick’s cole slaw. I don’t mind mayonnaise slaw, but the vinegar and sesame seeds in their slaw is absolutely delicious.

Another amazing video! You should check out via 313 Detroit style pizza in Austin, Texas.
My two favorites toppings that I love combining are "The Hawaiian & The Ambassador Bridge". I always get a few pizzas I can store in the freezer so I can air fry them when I crave for those explosions of (what tastes like) Garlic infused Ricotta!
If you like BBQ in Houston, whenever you crave it again Demeris BBQ has amazing pork ribs (amazing lunch item)
Or The Brisket House for their brisket & AMAZING Baked Potato Salad.
It's too bad it's COVID but when its safer I would also look at Shabu Zone, I think you would personally enjoy the all you can eat HOT POT!
Keep up the amazing videos Mikey! Love the content, stay safe and keep the videos coming

Idk what you’re on about homie. At least in NJ we have a handful of BBQ places. Not any Texas that I know of, but plenty of Tenesse and Carolina style places.

There is an HMart where you are at. There is a Korean and Chinese restaurant next to the HMart that is good. You need to remember Bellaire and Beechnut. That is the Asian area.

    Hey Mike,
If you're craving Vietnamese Sandwiches in Houston, I recommend Don's Cafe. You would have passed by it to get to Pho 54 on Bellaire. It's a cash only Vietnamese sandwich place, and the food is always great.

That rice flour baguette is what makes Houston Vietnamese food so good! I was never able to find it in New York, Boston or Philly. I even flew to Hanoi one time and their banh mi is nowhere near Houston's! Try Les Givrals in midtown!
