"What's that? A modulated filter pedal with a bit crusher particle effect in reverse? Wait why does Mustang Sally sound so weird on this thing? THIS PEDAL IS USELESS!"
@@moonsugar1 seriously, when I was learning bass, all my buddies were into Zeppelin etc, I was into Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, Flaming Lips, butthole surfers and tons of mid 80s punk and post punk. They always got pissed at me for collecting pedals and not really learning notation and standard riffs, but I enjoyed the sounds......
Love your reviews. The one thing that I think would make them better is a split screen showing what you're playing on guitar...it would help to distinguish what is being played and what is simply effects. Thanks.
And that final piece that begins at about 12:30 was haunting and lovely. As I've said before, the music you make when you're just demonstrating pedals is better than most of the music that's sold commercially.
You just gotta love these pedals loving all the knobs and switches on them real big kids toys...l could lose myself for days on end with these in my Mancave
You ever try syncing that up with Jesus built my hotrod... I mean similar era production teams ect Maybe it was the Purple Crystal L... No they do mash... Perhaps less than when in purp
What amazes me is that Tom Morello uses only 5 pedals. Wah, Whammy, Delay, Tremolo and Phaser, that's it. That's really crazy considering the variety of sounds he can get. I'm really curious what would happen if he obtain one of these...
Artemij You realize a couple of these are just modulated delay or an octaver(whammy does this) with Fuzz. He plugs them into another effect and or a looper to get the crazier sounds. Morello does a pretty crazy effect for his leads nowadays. He's got delay going near self oscillation. I'm Rage he doesn't have that many different tones. He is very inventive with the whammy, tone control and delay though.
there is some awesome guitar playing going in here!! anyone who thinks that it doesn't take some imagination and skill and even practice to operate these things has no idea.
I would love this so much. I have a gig where half my job is to make weird sounds between the tunes whilst all the analogue gear has its patches changed manually.
+Jim Ferguson damn this is crazy i was about to comment on this and say same but i realized i just commented on ur comment on the last vid CRAZY WORLDDD
Hey, Dennis. I totally agree with your number one. I won't mention it so I don't make a spoiler, but I love that pedal and it's so much more than a noise-maker. Love your demos.
Thank you SO MUCH for posting this video...these pedals are AMAZING...I had no idea that pedals like were made for guitar...I've heard synthesizers that create unusual sounds but never... You really have me re-thinking music and the possibilities...
I appreciate the time and effort put into this video. I would have liked it more if I could see the guitar being played in the same frame as the pedal. I want to see what is being input to the box. I would want to see all the knobs and switches of the particular pedal box put through wide change to let us hear what they each do. Good journey.
Although I like a lot of the sounds I just can’t see the point of getting those sounds from a guitar. A lot of the pedals give me the impression that it doesn’t matter what you play, it’ll make the same sound.
I want the Gnomerateon and the Fuzz Factory. I like making my bass have the weirdest noise possible that still sounds like a bass. [Edit] I also kinda like the Eventide Space. That's a pretty weird pedal.
Finally, escape the blues riffers.
"What's that? A modulated filter pedal with a bit crusher particle effect in reverse? Wait why does Mustang Sally sound so weird on this thing? THIS PEDAL IS USELESS!"
So many blues riffers out there! Feels good to get away to outer space for a bit.
@@moonsugar1 dude tf is lovetone it sucks when i play stevie ray vaughan with it dude wtf

I was in heaven listening to this video. After looking up prices, I'm lost in purgatory, forever broken.
The eternal struggle
This is one of the sickest videos on RUclips.

This dudes neighbors must be so fucking confused when he cranks that up
this dudes neighbor is probably tripping absolute balls everytime he plays
Imagine if his neighbor wanted to trip on some shrooms or acid or something and like mid-trip he starts doing his thing and their just like fuck...
Can we just take a minute to appreciate this guys riffs. So much versatility. So unique. So heavy. So beautiful
woops now i have to buy every single one of these
i can go without eating for a while
9:10 holy fuck you actually get to pull the switch, that's the best gimmick i've ever seen
@@Nophera it looks like the power switch that you turn on in call of duty
and now use all of them at the same time

I agree he a great musician
check out Explosions In The Sky, This Will Destroy You and Mogwai if you like music like this
I don't know why, but that part hit me really hard in the feels.
You need to branch outside of Kanye West, dude.
lmao kanye west is the dumbest person to suggest is making lazy/bad music

Pretty sure that sums up Dennis? Think he has a day job? I'm betting no
I kind of wish this review was like 5 hours long. I'm loving a lot of these and just wanting more.
The rainbow machine definitely reminded me of the intro to Who Was In My Room Last Night by The Butthole Surfers.

Im flying!
The price of 3 of these pedals put together is more than my entire setup.
But your setup sucks so…
I love walking to the pedal counter and saying, "I just want to sound fucking stupid."
I love making my guitar NOT sound like a guitar, definitely will have to try to acquire some of these
Don't show this to Radiohead
BioCofMN
why?:)
I need all of these
Too late
@@stanislavmiller1822 because they would go crazy with these haha
Great review. I've been looking for a "weird pedals" review for a while
Subdecay Harmonic Antagonizer Fuzz Oscillator Holy shit this one is awesome!
i instantly starting pricing that one
Subdecay has so many awesome pedals, that are musical and can be used with guitar.
I love the Revolver one
Tom Morello: *Breathes Heavily*

CorbCorbin he also has that killswitch installed in his guitar
CorbCorbin Watch the Lock Up video. He was a cringey cheese ball before effects and Rage.
This is great!!
+RAC should use one of these bad boys in your next remix
seems like we've all slipped into the buckethead dimension
Seth Sinclair that’s what brought me here lol
He got it from Belew. Just sayin...
there is some awesome guitar playing going in here!! anyone who thinks that it doesn't take some imagination and skill and even practice to operate these things has no idea.
Fantastic !!! I'm passionated by weird futuristic useless sounds, and this video made me so happy !
You can make movie scores out of these pedals haha
You mean "creepy/horror movie scores" hahaha...
like a Kubrick's score lol
Only horror movie scores? What a dull mind :(
Wow. I am facinated that some these pedals exist at all.
Last Gasp Gomorrah, WOW!!
I'd love a multi pedal that features only the weird sounds.
Not Right Music digitech space station
zach ballard or the Bitquest
Me to .would be awesome
Duuuuuddeeee I was just thinking that same thing about 5 min ago!!! Weiiirddddd
I would love this so much. I have a gig where half my job is to make weird sounds between the tunes whilst all the analogue gear has its patches changed manually.
6:17 is dark and sick AF! Boss battle music for sure.
I have a couple of these, have heard of a couple more but most are completely unknown to me. Thank you for this trip-toe through the tulips
This is absolute brilliance.
Wasn't expecting the red panda to take number 1#. Glad I still have mine.

We love these strange pedal videos 💜 thank you. We have the Misty Cave & we use it for a few different instruments 🩵
1:22 reminds me of almost every song in Portal 2 lol
Gary Hughes ACCURATE
Also doom 2016/eternal.
That Particle sounds so nice, and strange!
If any of these are even remotely affordable then I must have one. Awesome video!
The harmonic antagonizer sounds pretty cool
Your playing really shows off the pedals as well, :D
Now I'd love to see all of these on a single board and see what can be done with them
The subdecay one was awesome
The LastGasp Misty Cave makes some beautiful sounds.
This is great to listen to while tripping as I currently am

2:26 “Yo listen up, here’s the story, about a little guy who lives in a blue world”
I NEED EVERY ONE OF IT
You mean “EVERY ONE OF THEM” haha
I've been wanting to see a video like this for ages, thankyou
Thank you for including the Judder pedal Dennis :)
judder rules. thank you for making it.
Does anybody know what song he plays with the misty cave all the time? Beautiful.
I must have ALL OF THIS
Some of that stuff could be from Earthbound or some creepypasta about Earthbound. For example 2:44.
I like the particle. also, the dream sequence hologram should be high on a list. I can't wait to get one!
The music that begins at 5:19 is exquisite, poignant. And something Robert Fripp would be proud of. ;-)
Tyrion Lannister Court of the Cromson King interlude piece. Sounded awesome
yikes
absolutely true
How do you afford all these man
You don't. But you can dream.
save and one at a time maybe?
Interesting that the one that seems to be the most musical is awarded number 1.
I would love to sit in a room with all of these pedals!!!
that last song was amazing
the red panda particle sounds beautiful
the eventide was amazing
For other crazy noise sound pedals check out Nick Reinhart's rig rundown
Frantabit is nightmare fuel and I frigging love it.
Klinger/Dazatronyx - Sonic Sustainer. Can't be beaten.

Geiger counter and frankestein fuzz were my favorites
In some ways. I could liken some of these pedals to a "troll in a box". Sounds to piss people off to. lol
FOUND YA STU MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT PEDALS
Thanks for sharing samples from so many interesting pedals!
this was a really refreshing demo. thanks!
Excellent upload ❤️
Ooooh!! I love these sounds, This is how Rock really Started before Dj destroyed True Performance!
Man it's the second time I've heard the "Musty cave" in action, it's the most beautiful delay/rev pedal I've heard
Misty, heh
I definitely need that robot factory.
You need to record some of these to FLAC for download. Would sound amazing.
5:18 absolutely love this
So cool to see 3 Lastgasp pedals in your Top25! I also have 5 LAL, and I badly love them!
this cured me of my pedal obsession
I've watched that video 10 times since yesterday, very well done, great sounds and demonstration!
Thanks for this! Right up my alley and very helpful. Beautifully Done!

Really amazing, there is software that will record the impulses of each pedal and best settings so you never loose the right settings.
This is fantastic, really helpful video for finding weird effects!! Good job!!
Great video man! You did a good job of showing how some of these weird effects can be used!
Nightmare fuel
the first pedal sounds like every mindless self indulgence song!
Thank you for the awesome list .. I have the Particle and it is amazing .....well done.

#7 sounds nice.
#8 sounds like an epic arena theme.
This is a shoegazing dream.
finally something thats not the most generic shitty blues or metal on youtube
Saves the best until the end. Now version 2 is even better
