Whoosh, the sound system sounds good. I also did the audio upgrade on my car (audi), but since my speakers are a little bit more powerful (6.5'' 110W RMS) than my aftermarket head unit can handle (50W RMS), I need to find an amp to get the full potential out of them. If I wanted to avoid the extra work, I should've gone with 50W RMS speakers, but eventually I will save up and buy a more powerful 4-channel amp

Back in the day we had to mount the amp to the back of the rear seats…and the sub was encased in a box sitting in the trunk 🤣…this upgrade is cool cuz it’s literally OEM+…well done my guy 👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Hey I got a m340 with no Harmon kardon and was looking to buy this amp. Did you only buy the amp as well?and if you did, did it get noticeably louder because that’s what I want
I have a 228 with base Hi Fi, saying it sucked was an understatement. As an audiophile, I’ve upgraded tens of sound systems in cars in the past. I replaced the amp with the match up (same amp but cheaper than bimmertech amp but not pre-tuned). I also added a Mosconi sub amp and JL Audio dual 10 sub box. Had system tuned professionally and it’s amazing. Absolutely NO Need to spend the time and money replacing the speakers. The shop that tuned my system typically does expensive cars at costs way over 10k or more; after we demo’ed my car, the owner said that there was absolutely no reason to replace the speakers; that i sounded as good as a 20k system. I spend about 4k total, including the tune that took about 3 hours after the install. Bottom line, no substitute for power and tuning; the best speakers in the world can’t create great sound without those two things but mediocre speakers can really come alive with the right tuning.

Honestly I didn’t need a reason to want a 135i but now I don’t want one… I neeeed one!
What's really weird is in my 440, if my trunk is opening and I sit inside the car: the bass is INCREDIBLE. But once the trunk closes it gets muddy aF. Bad sound desinging with a dead spot seeming to be right in the driver seat.
My fav car audio stuff is Focal and JL Audio. I’m not familiar with Alpha One - but looks like a quality kit.
That’s the exact install I did. JL audio 6 channel amp.. focal tweeds and mids in doors and pillar. The yellow colored vocals I remember. Is that the same setup for the 2022-2023?

I can compare.. I have installed BavSound 3 times, and A1s now 10+ times and strongly prefer the A1s. They are similar in ease of install (direct plug in play) but find A1s have both better sound quality (hard to compare and highly subjective) and better overall fitment. I have the full A1, subs and amp in my M2C and the overall improvement is night and day, especially when compared to a stock G82 with HKs I drove recently.

unfortunately you can get the same effect with the stock system and Poweramp eq over aux. the problem with stock amp is the lack of eq under 100hz. that $2000 amp you got just lets you gain frequency under 100hz, same thing is achieved with Poweramp but for $3. while I do think this is a better set and forget, $3500 is extremely steep. especially because you don't need to upgrade the side speakers or even subs, and that $2000 is much better spent on an audio control d-6.1200. you get more power, built in dsp that you can control with your phone that leads to significantly better audio quality over these stock upgrade replacement units and only spend half the money, for a better system, or again just use Poweramp eq, my stock logic 7 system in my 2012 x5 makes my ears hurt already and all I did was bump preamp to +5, set lowest eq to 30, set it to have 20 bands, put 30hz and up to 50hz to +15 and slow brought everything else up till it sounded decent. I'm hitting 108db with stock system at 34hz. more then enough, and it ony cost me $3

You can’t do just the speakers? Maybe but not sure.. it should require the amp though because the amp that comes with the “hifi” system sends I think 60 watts to the doors and 80-90 watts to the shallow subs under the seats. I personally upgraded my own 2010 E90 with a jl audio 6 channel amp that gave me 100 watts per channel but I needed this custom wiring harness.. then I installed focals in the doors and this special shallow 8 inch woofer that was made by.. some small company and I can’t remember their name. But yeah anyhow.. not sure you can just buy the speakers without getting a better amp.. if you can? Why would you want speakers that aren’t working to their potential! The biggest thing missing.. still.. after all that work I freaking did was midbass. There was like.. 0. None.. the bass was great.. the focals were very.. bright and shiny.. a tad too much treble.. that wasn’t able to be adjusted. Now that I just bought a 2023 330i sedan.. that has just the hifi.. now I remember why I did all that work to my old one.. the system blows donk. And I don’t ever just use Bluetooth because the sound quality is just that much worse. Wired in.. still is weak.. it’s still a step up from the stock hifi from 2010, but it’s still lacking. I wish I could directly hear bimmertechs sound..
Alpha One i dont believe would clasify as Hifi but maybe just a decent yograde above factory BMW speakers. Which i hate to say it but BMW and Mercedes have some of the worst sound systems in their cars. Is it a solid plug-and-play system for our cars, of course but without any EQ or time alignment or any kind of staging I wouldn't say it's hifi or SQ. I would say it's mid-level if that and trade a mid-level but the cool thing about it is it's a plug-and-play which I'm going to get it for my car because I'm not really doing the Hi-Fi thing anymore and sound is very very subjective 😅😊
People reading this, start with CLD squares and butyl rope in your doors etc, sound deadening AKA treatment is the most important part here ❤
