We just bought this dryer for our tiny apartment, and I am very happy with it! Thanks for showing me where the lint trap was and how to remove it. I was struggling with it for a half hour!
My son is on the autism spectrum and his favourite thing as a toddler was watching the washer ( front loader) and tumble dryer rotate. I find it quite soothing .
I have my dryer in my bathroom and turn the exhaust fan on. I also put a dryer vent filter on the back and clean it out every four or five loads. Great video.
Great review and price! I have this same model going on 3 years now. I also have the Panda washer which I did a review on. I don't bother splitting the dryer filter to clean it for fear of wearing out the tabs. If you have a vacuum and end nozzle, you can vacuum up 98% of the lint without opening it. Also Panda has a website where you can order belts, filters, etc. I also have my dryer vented outdoors for fear of breeding mold and mildew indoors. May take a little longer to dry than a 220v system, but it sure beats hanging clothes up to dry or wasting gas and time going to a laundromat!
Vac Tech ...Does the dryer machine emanate motor heat and raise the ambient temperature of the room that it is working in ? ....thanks in advance for your response .
Vac Tech ...What was the price of the Ikea clothes drying rack and can you tell me the model number of the rack or a link to the rack.....thanks in advance for your reply .
Just wanted to say a huge thank you. I’m in an Airbnb with one of these. I did one dry OOD and it worked great but then wouldn’t turn on for the next load. Cleaning out the lint filter solved it and it started right back up. Never would have found it without you!
If you want to REALLY speed up the dry time preheat the dryer so it gets the internal specifically the drum hot. Then when the wash is done pop it in with that dry towel and better yet if you want to supercharge the dry time get two packs of that As You Seen on TV Shazoom super absorbing fabric. It'ss is stupid how quick you can dry clothes with a setup like this. And if you frequent a laundromat with those big ass dryers - preheat one of those bad boys and with a towel I swear in 20 minutes the whole load is dry - for real. Try it for yourself next time. …. I have the Ikea rack and it's great, it's strong. The worst summer mugginess in years. So air drying doesn't work too well . Waiting for a response to my 'wanted' ad in Craigs list..for a mini dryer. would love to find a bargain. Thanks for a terrific , thorough , mesmerizing review. The quiet time with the spinning clothes actually lulled me nearly to sleep. lol. nice.
I wouldn't use this dryer without the felt filter. I did that for a while, and then the dryer would not heat anymore. I opened up the dryer and it was full of lint and a pain to clean. Cleaning out the lint fixed it.

Thank you for this video! Came across an electric dryer while on Walmart looking for a dryer rack and a magic chef electric dryer came up. I'll be buying the magic chef*one. Thanks again for this video!
I live in the desert in Utah, it's so dry, I will welcome that moisture, and I'll only use it a couple of times a week. Vinegar is a natural softener. I use that instead. Especially with my towels.
Love your review on this excellent dryer. I have a costway washer and spin dryer but it's still moist after the "dryer" so I have been looking for a good portable dryer. Thank you for this, definitely will get this!
Thank you very much! One thing I will say now though, use the filters, and clean and replace them as necessary. Not using them caused lint buildup in mine.
I just received mine Tuesday. It warmer then I thought it would. I’m about to do dry 3 large towels and small rags. I’m curious as to the results. Very easy to move, handles in both sides. Takes yo very little space. So far,I’m also venting in my house. I have very dry air and I keep the house 68-70,when I’m home. I wish I’d purchased years earlier.
Update: I think I do I discovered why some ppl didn’t think it got hot enough. I wanted to dry a couple shirts,I set it at 30 minutes. It wasn’t getting warm! oh no! Some of the reviews might have been right. Well,I thought maybe Ill start it at the red zone ‘Hot’ and turn the timer to 30-40 min. Well,Low and Behold, it worked. I still haven’t read the instructions! But it probably does a day to do this. Still amazed how fast it can dry and how many clothes I’ve been able to put in. It also Very Quiet. I can’t wait for summer. Will dry my confess in 30 minutes,I’m hoping. 🙂
This dryer has been a life saver for the past three years in my little condo. But recently it hasn't been shutting off when it reaches the end of the cycle. It just keeps going and starts the whole cycle over again. I've searched and can't find a Panda replacement timer anywhere. Plus there are no youtubes about how to replace it yourself.
I have one, it stopped working about 2 months after I got it. I don't know what is meant by apartment size. A person who lives in an apartment has just as many clothes as a person who lives in a house. You just have less space for a dryer. This was over $300 after tax and not worth it if you ask me since you can get a full size dryer for about $400. Its just that I don't have a 220 v outlet. Even when the dryer was working, it took at least 3 cycles to get even the smallest loads (socks, underwear) dry.
I am thinking about getting a potable dryer. I brought a portable washer and so far my little washer seems to do a good job..I hook it up on my washer hookup on cold water side and so far i have no probloms.. But i am thinking about getting these portable dryers.. What good on these reviews products it gives people an idea and a lessons, informations to learn about these products.. I know this is not a washer video but pardon me i had to plug that in tthis comment. LOL.. but i am looking at diffences products brands and Panda is closer to what i like..
Awesome! I hope you're happy with it. I was initially concerned about the build quality of this dryer, but it's been a trooper for over 2.5 years now, and I only imagine having to eventually replace the belt on it (which looks like an easy task). Super over-filling it makes it struggle to get going, but even then, it still works!
Vac Tech my apartment dosent have fancy dryer type plugs and my nearest laundrymat is a bit of a drive away...and i dont drive lol. So im very excited to have the life upgrade i need :)
Do u need a dedicated circuit to plug in or can you just plug it in to any outlet? Im asking because wouldnt you overload the circuit breaker if you plug it into any outlet?
Thanks! I've been really happy with mine, but if you want to learn more, I made a follow-up review. That video goes into things I had to do over the course of ownership, to keep it running.
Thinking of getting one and putting it in my garage. Do I need to be concerned about venting it still? Also would I have to be concerned about the voltage being too strong for the outlet in the garage? Concerned about fire.
Yes, and then some! I regularly dry queen sized comforters in it (1 at a time), and it does a great job. It has a surprisingly large capacity, but will take longer if completely filled.
I'd make sure you have both halves of the lintel filter snapped together correctly, and make sure the clips where it snaps to the back of the dryer aren't broken.
@@ashleyd.5220 I use a foil hose for mine. The dryer has a removable duct on the back of it, that the hose connects to. The dryer is made for a 3" hose, but I used a 4" hose, and sort of pinched and zip-tied the hose to the dryer duct.
Well theres a warn and a cool cycle, I would use the warm cycle, and have the button pushed in, to set the dryer to "high." I hope you can get it working properly!
I just got the costway version of this and it's noisy as all hell. On every rotation it sounds like the motor or drum is rubbing or binding up. I don't know if it will go away over time but I'm not sure if it will. Not impressed.
I dont have a way to vent outside, though i can open a nearby window when drying, would i be ok? Does it come with a indoor vent alternative and why dont you trust it?
I'm not sure. Did you set it up correctly? Is the exhaust port on the back clear to vent? If it's blocked for any reason it won't dry. I would contact Panda. Your unit could be defective.
I set mine up to vent out of a window. Out of a window is definitely the preferred method for these types of dryers, unless they're a model that doesn't require ventilation.
I believe you just remove the screws on the back panel, and that panel comes off, exposing the belt, drum, and motor, but it's been years since I had to open mine up. The belt on yours may need to be replaced, but worth checking out first.
No it doesn't get hot, and it has 4 large feet, so it sits about an inch off the floor. Might not be a bad idea to put a board or something under it regardless.

No, it gets hot but not like a traditional dryer. It plugs into a standard plug, you can't draw the kind of power to be as hot like a traditional dryer.
Roxanne, a simple youtube search on "setting up a vent for a portable cloths dryer" should answer this simple question for you. note: it really is quite simple if you are at all handy, if not, then you can always get your local hardware store to cut to size a piece of plywood for your window or door.
my drum isn't turning and I just bought the dryer. I am so horrible when it comes to these things. Where is the dryer belt and how do I make sure it's on.
There are several screws on the back panel that you need to remove around the outside of the panel, and a few screws around the dryer's hose connection. Remove those, and the back panel lifts off, and you'll be able to re-connect or replace the belt (probably just re-connect). it goes around a pulley from the motor, and around the back of the drum. I had to re-connect the belt when I first got mine. Hope this helps!

Towels, depending on size will dry in about half an hour but only if they're really spun/wrung out well. I finally bought a Ninja spin dryer. My countertop machine didn't spin out enough water. That's ok if you line dry during the summer, but in winter the spin dryer gets the towels 90% dry. Quick to finish in this tumble dryer. 👍

Does it get hot like a standard size dryer?
No, it gets hot but not like a traditional dryer. It plugs into a standard plug, you can't draw the kind of power to be as hot like a traditional dryer.
