    I made this today. It is a little tricky but do-able. I find it hard to keep the square wire from twisting, but they are so pretty when they stay straight and smooth. Thank you for this tutorial!

    This is exactly what I needed to see. I went out yesterday and bought square 20g wire to practice frames.

    Love the simplicity of this! I'll probably end up using some painter's tape while making this to try to keep the stone from slipping.

      You can also use painter's tape on your tools to minimize tool marks on the wire.

    Some painters tape might help if you're having trouble holding the stone in place. I have to do that when I'm starting a tree of life wrap.

      This one is tough on the hands you are so right! I think my fingers have toughened up from all these years of wire wrapping.

    Put a sharpie mark on the wire to know exactly where to wrap the wires and pull tight.

    Hi Oxana, do you think it would work with other shaped stones, trying to figure out how to do a diamond shaped cabochon. It's a labradorite and I'd love to show off its beauty. Could you have any ideas?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  4 года назад +1

      It should work with diamond shape stone, I also recently tried teardrop and it worked

    (You can buy those exact round nose pliers on Amazon for $13 !?? Odd. Two different price’s same plier!?)

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  4 года назад +2

      Thank you! Yes the pliers I use and have the Amazon link for under the video are about $13 right now. I think they have always been around that price since I've been buying them.They also make similar pliers that are also blue but they are serrated not smooth, so you just have to be careful not to get the wrong ones.

    Oxana I love your videos, you're a great teacher and your designs are beautiful. I'm new to wire wrapping and I get frustrated by tool marks on my wire. As I gain experience I am learning to minimize them, but I'm curious about your view of them - e.g. Are they unavoidable to some degree? If I hope to eventually sell them, do my would-be customers expect zero tool marks? Is there any way to minimize the look of them once they're there? Thank you!

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  4 года назад

      IT is pretty hard to avoid tool marks 100%, I get them too. If they are too deep or too noticeable I use some fine sand paper to buff them out. The really small marks gets buffed out usually when I oxidize and polish

  • @myyutube125

    I can’t do it, tried 4 times and on the second time going through I can’t get the stone back in, maybe when I get better. Lovely though.
