From the wood, don’t forget to grease the needle bearings there’s 6 or so in addition to the thrust bearings you greased, mine were completely dried out. FYI the setting for tightness of the roller drive belt is 1mm between the back of the chain idler and the other loop of the chain. It is adjusted by lowering the planing table to 90mm (gives access to both of the inside bolts that lock the roller drive mechanism )slackening off two 13mm bolts, once loose raise and place the belt that done, to tension, insert a screw driver between the bottom of the middle chain drive cog and the aluminium drive and levering downwards until a 1mm gap appears between the sprung idler and the chain then nipping up the bolts, it’s a bit of a phaf to access the bolts as the inside table is in the way. Chain is like a push bike chain and has a removable link, but you managed:)
Heed my advice and get whatever part you can now, not later. Think of it this way, even if you sell this unit before you get to use them, you can price it up a bit to recoup by selling replacement parts with it. So it's a win win. I've found myself in the unpleasant situation where i either had to use old parts (in better condition than i had) or had to order them made. Cheers!
hi, i just got the hms 260, which is either the same or very similar. i cant find a manual though, does anyone know how to adjust the top bed for "jointing". any info would be great. it either doesn't work or i dont know how it works. cheers.
great Video I have the same machine (didnt relaise I had it since 1985) and need to replace the belt and clean up the top deck and idea where to get the belt, and any hint about cleaning up the rusty top decks would be well appreciated
See the vertical springs? The nuts should be 10mm from the ends. i.e screwed on 10mm with 10mm of thread showing. In the Uk NMA are the distributors and have annotated photocopies parts diagrams with little pearls of wisdom like this
@@FromTheWood Obrigado de qualquer forma, já agora tenho mais uma questão eu tenho o modelo HMT-260, comprei já usada, mas não tem esse manipulo que está na engrenagem, ele serve para o quê?
Hi, please help me out, i Have the exact same problem with mine, can You Tell me from where You got the replacement parts? Can You please give me link from where I can buy them? Or the n-am of the shop?
I’m just about to change the rollers on my Scheppach very good timing for me. Can I ask where you had the drawing from. It would be a good idea for me to get on for the rollers before I start. Thanks for the video much appreciated.
I just fixed my machine that had seized rollers (rubber was fine). If you remove the folding side of the table, and take out the cutter head and rollers together, then remove each roller carriage they will come apart after WD-40 and some muscle. Sandpaper removed rust/grime, and I had wax too lubricate. Leaving this here as very little online about this machine. Thanks for the video, used it to see how chain went back on!
put some lubrication on the chain. Either some grease or, if you want a dryer lubricant, take the chain off and soak it in hot candle wax for 20 minutes then let cool and reinstall. This is the "old school" dry lubricant for bicycle chains.....or use a modern dry spray lubricant for modern "new school" bicycle chains ... I would just use a little grease worked into the chain and then wipe off the excess with a rag. Looks good !

Excellent work, and it seems the shop manager approves too. @1:08
Truth. I had not even noticed. Thanks
That was clearly due for replacement. What a difference between the old and the new. Greetings
You can see at 3:08 the comparison between the old and the new pulley. The old wheel has its teeth all worn and crooked.
