These look delicious! I’ll have to try them. Thank you for sharing this family favorite recipe. I really appreciate the recipe card at the end of your videos. I just do a screen print on my iPad and put it in my recipe folder. 🥰
Karen Thank You for coming over to my new channel, the two things I do everyday is crocheting and cooking meals for my family, I am hoping we can all have fun in the kitchen :)
OH! These sound SO GOOD!! I can't eat cinnamon... so, I will make these without that... but will put the sugar on them. Can't wait to try them!!! ... My favorite cookie is our Christmas Tree Cookies (Spritz)... made with the cookie press and almond extract.
Your videos are the best! You take it nice and slow and so easy to follow! The professionals could learn from you! Can’t wait to try the recipe! Thank you!💕
yum yum,,,,,,,, they look yummy,,,,, although i never have seen the lard like that,,,,, premeasured,,,,,,,,,, but then again, i don't bake alot,,,,,,,,,,lol
Thank you, Thank you Glenda, these are my husband's favorite cookies. I made sugar cookies but they weren't cake like and that is what your's are thanks for the recipe. I am loving this channel.
This is the same recipe that my husband’s grandmother passed down! Her grandkids called them “ saliva suckers “ because you needed to drink milk with them! Yummy!
Looks scrumptious, but I would have liked to see what the middle of the cookie looks like when they cooled. I'm not much of a sugar cookie but these look really good with all that cinnamon and sugar...yumm!!!
I like to use a small melon baller which wold be just about the same size. So it makes about 2 dozen? Approximately how long to bake depending on the oven? Just asking so I don’t need to keep opening up my oven. I want a plate full now!!!! Love thus channel and how you’ve welcomed us into your kitchen! Thank you!
Hi Glenda, roughly how many minutes would you say to cook these? Can't wait to try them. It will have to wait until the temps stop hitting the 80's & 90's here in NH...UGH!
Congratulations on your cooking channel. Those cookies look so good. How many does this recipe make. Roughly how long are they in the oven for? I love to cook so I will be watching for more recipes.
It makes about 2 dozen depending on how big you make them, cook about 5 minutes or less they cook extremely fast and all ovens vary, I would watch the first batch and time it then you should be good.
Not sure about the coconut oil, I never made it with butter not sure if it would change the way the cookie bakes or not only ever use the veg shortening sticks.
Glenda, if new bakers are following you...their measurements might be off as you're using a LIQUID Measuring Cup for your DRY INGREDIENTS. Baking is a Science. Most recipes are more precise when baking & you need to use the correct tools. That's the 1st lesson my Mom taught me & I did the same w/my children. You can pick up a set of Betty Crocker (or other) Dry Measuring Cups, Measuring Spoons etc all for a $1 each at your local dollar store. You'd be surprised how your measurements will be incorrect when measuring with the wrong tools. Also when Measuring with a liquid Measuring cup ( like Glenda used) make sure to look at the measurement at "eye level". You can place it on a flat surface like a cake stand like I do as bending down hurts my back & neck. 💜🥰 What I wrote was out of love. When Cooking , you don't have to be as precise. You can add more of a certain ingredient in the recipe to make it your own. While Baking, you need to follow a recipe more closely. Thank you Glenda for your yummy recipes. Can't wait to try them & to see you post more. Congrats on your new channel!
Anita 3kids this said, this recipe has been baked for decades I am sure and is foolproof as is... Glenda is showing how it is done as in simple everyday cooking, and it would loose its genuine touch if proposed as a science item. I cook the same way for recipes handed down by my grand-ma, and most of them have no real measurement. I am French by the way, and Glenda’s recipes are interesting to me as they are. Only thing is the funny ingredients like evaporated milk (never heard of), crisco etc. Will use butter and other equivalent, it will still be good I am sure!
Anita Thank You for the information, I always used the measuring cup and after over 50 years cooking never knew that. So I think we can all learn no matter our age LOL I will make sure I am more correct.
@@creativegrandmaskitchen256 Glenda, I in no way was meaning to discredit your recipe in any way. I've been a subscriber of yours for quite a long time. I've also been crocheting as long as I've been baking ( learned both at a very early age) Yes, I know there are recipes that don't have "correct" measurements that are passed down in family's . My own MIL had recipes that were like this. I was just making an observation. It indeed is never too late to learn & my Mom instilled in me if I was going to do something to do it the correct way. I also taught my children that as well as learning something new each day/week etc. I by no means was trying to do anything than to show you the correct way. Most people make this mistake as well as not knowing how to correctly measure ingredients even using the the right instruments lol. Please accept my apology if I hurt you in any way. That was never my intention. I learn so much from YOU & my Mom taught me how to make a potholder while I was in kindergarten & my Mom-Mom took over after that. My Mom couldn't read a pattern & finish a project. We each have our own strengths. I was just trying to help...like you help us. Just like a few yrs ago when I contacted you via email due to your Links going to another website. Just helping out a friend. Still friends? 🧶🥰~Anita
These are a variation of my Grandma's Sugar Cookie, passed from my grandma, to my mom, to us kids, to our kids! The go-to cookies for school parties! Topped with colored sugars or candies, depending on the time of year and the occasion. I made smaller ones for taking to school and log-shapped ones for dipping into milk! Snicker Doodles are an entirely different sweet
These look delicious. I love the new channel.

I want to make these right now 🧡
Hi Glenda!!! I just subscribed. Look forward to making some of your recipes.
Thank You for subscribing I appreciate your support of my new channel
Looks scrumptious, but I would have liked to see what the middle of the cookie looks like when they cooled. I'm not much of a sugar cookie but these look really good with all that cinnamon and sugar...yumm!!!
I did not even think to break one open, I will try to remember to do that next time., it like a cake cookie very yummy
I love sugar cookies however my favorite is no bake cookies.
Aren't these called snicker doodles? That's what we called them growing up in PA.
Carole, I am not sure I never made a snicker doodle, my mom always called them a sugar cookie??
I think it is very similar to a snicker doodle. Glenda is born and raised in Pennsylvania as well.

Betty Lou they take about 5 minutes or less bakes very fast.
These look yummy! Is this self rising flour or plain flour? It doesn’t use a lot of soda, so I wanted to make sure.
This is just regular Pillsbury all purpose flour NOT a self rising flour. Thanks for asking :)
Hi Glenda, roughly how many minutes would you say to cook these? Can't wait to try them. It will have to wait until the temps stop hitting the 80's & 90's here in NH...UGH!
All ovens vary these cook extremely fast in 5 minutes or less I think I would time the first batch to your oven and then use that time.

Hey Glenda ♡ we don't have Crisco in my country do you think I can replace it with coconut oil or butter?
Not sure about the coconut oil, I never made it with butter not sure if it would change the way the cookie bakes or not only ever use the veg shortening sticks.
I so want to try this, but I wanted to use cookie cutters would I have to refrigerate the dough to do that?
How many cookies will this recipe make?
June, it will make about 2 dozen more or less depending on how big you make the cookies.
They are sort like snickerdoodle cookies but it makes more, has no milk and you make balls out of diugh and roll it in sugar and cinnamon
? I’ve never used lard...is it the same as butter? My mom used Crisco back in the 60’s is it the same stuff?
Hello Lee, Lard is what my mom called Crisco so I would use Crisco, it is NOT the same as butter, use Crisco.

About how is it in the oven?
5 minutes or less really depends on your oven
What happened to your grandson? I thought he was going to be cooking with you.
My grandson was doing the filming but he will be in future videos cooking as well.

Snicker Doodles are an entirely different sweet
Snicker Doodles have cream of tartar for a distinctive tang, are rolled in cinnamon/sugar mix, and are flat, chewy, flavorful cookies
Good luck with your new channel, but it is not for me, it's not health sustainable foods.
Hello Christine we will be trying to bring all kinds of foods to our channel. But Thanks for stopping by anyhow. I appreciate it
