Yes it is since I posted this video I crank the torsion a little bit got two more in I'm still happy with the angles of the CV axles I added my rough country rear shackle lift as well now I've got 10 in of total lift!! That includes my 2 inch body lift.
Nope but I'll tell you this much you will have to replace your front drive shaft knuckle closest to transfer case almost immediately that boot will tear I've had my lift kit on there now for over 2 years no problems 👍
Nope ZR2 front crossmembers are 3, inches wide than standerd 4x4. Took me a long time to figure out the exact difference. Mine just had the ZR2 rear axle not the frame.
Got a 2001 single cab mine it’s a bit stiff in rural roads a bit bouncy or any imperfection on the road seems like I hit something, 6inch lift suspension and 2inch body
Yep these trucks are stiff 🤣 and rattle in all kinds of different places especially on off road trails!! That's just part of having 20 year old trucks.
Nope they make a 3 in spindle kit for two wheel drive and you could do a 2-in block in the back you could do that and combine with a 2-in body lift that's the max you can get!!

I bought a standard cab Sonoma eith this kit and it eats through front driveshafts. If anyone has a solution do tell. Ive never done anything but get the stock front driveshaft rebuilt
Will it work on the zr2? I run 33x12.5 stock with a lot trimmed. I debating doing a sas or a lift kit. I think the sas would be more durable. What your opinion?
RC says it won't fit the zr2? But that's what they said about the crew cab!! a 33 inch tire in my opinion is the perfect size for an S10 you could do a body lift for under 200.00 bucks then you could get the RC 2.5 lift I know that one fits a ZR2 that would give you 4-5 inches! If you Daly drive this truck I wouldn't go with 35s because your gas mileage drops to about 10mpg then you really need to change the gears to like 456/488s. If you have the money and resources to do a SAS that would be awesome!!
If I remember correctly you have to grind off a little piece of the upper left corner of the control arm. I only had to do that on one side for some? reason hope that helps
There's only one company out there that makes fender flares just like these. it is called jungle fender flare. Mine are from a real ZR2 your much better off buying them new. Thanks for commenting.

@@martinneps9387 if your S10 is four-wheel drive without the plastic fender flares than you have a standard 4x4 if it's two wheel drive you're not going to have but two options body lift and spindle drop kit combined with rear shackle kit, That'll get you about 4 inches.

U have done your homework my friend!! l got them off an 02 zr2 extended cab a year ago I had been looking for them for a long time and got all four in decent shape. To me it was like hitting the lottery!!!
All the studs snapped off when I was taking them apart so I ended up having to use 3M tape and caulk. And then I fashioned metal brackets to hold them in place tightly. I have the ZR2 rear end I put wheel spacers in the front to make up the difference! I wish they make a g80 locker for the front diff!!

I've been on 35 inch tires now for about a year I still have my stock 373 gears. Keep in mind I now have approximately 10 to 12 inches of lift if you do a 6-inch you'll probably just want to do 33s Max
Yeah honestly I wish I would have just stuck with the standard 6-in lift mine sits up about 11 in now it's actually too much because 35 in tires are the biggest that'll fit in the wheel wells without doing some serious modification
To be honest my truck has a 2009 4.3 in it I didn't put it in there I've tried to be good to it but I can tell she's getting week!! Starting to burn a little oil I think my ECU is going bad too causing some weird things to happen I'm going to try and put another one in there
Is yours a crew cab?? Also do you already have the rc 6 inch lift?? If so they are definitely the heaviest of the s series. You need to jack it up at the frame first then Crank up your keys! But if your adjustment bolts are maxed out than you can either get keys or do what I said swap side for side also check to see if your upper control arms are maxed to the bump stop if so your at Maxx travel bro.
@@waltersteffensthezr2man431 yes it’s a 03 s10 zr5 crew cab keys aren’t cranked up all the way but Ive been told that it I crank it it’ll get worse, after I get alignment, the camber changes and Ik it can’t be my suspension cause everything is new along with steering wheel components, the only thing that’s messed up is I have a little play in my steering gearbox. I noticed my torsion bar crossmember slightly bent, and I’m thinking that’s what’s giving my my camber issue but not sure. So switching the torsion bars side would do the trick of getting it leveled? The position of the torsion bar wouldn’t change?

It definitely will not work because a true ZR2 has a wider frame in the front therefore giving it wider mounting points I was finally able to confirm this it's approximately 3.5 in wider

Yes that gives you your 6 inch rear lift! Their flip kit cradles are one of a kind you're not going to find them anywhere on the internet very well-built
You leave the stock perch mounts on the axle no cutting no welding very well design the u-bolts they give you are way too long I had to cut two inches off of mine.
You have to drill 8 holes for the torsion drop brackets if you don't have a speed bit you will have spaghetti arms when you're done LOL! You also have to drill 6 holes in the upper control arms for the shock relocating brackets. You also have to cut a lot of the upper control arm bracket stuff and you have to hack into your differential quite a bit and you have to cut a huge pocket out of your driver side upper rear control arm mount so the differential has room to clear. I had rough country send me the instructions before I even bought the lift to make sure I wanted to get into it LOL
I wouldn't waste your money 6 inch lift is well worth it I used to have the 2.5 on my truck either way if you decide to do the 2.5 it does not affect doing the 6-inch later on.
Got the truck with 31" tires on it and the torsion bars cranked. It rides like crap and I think my shocks and ball joints are shot. By the time I'd replace stock parts I'm a couple hundred away from the RC 2.5 kit. Figured it would make the tires fit which are almost new and be similar money. Wondered how ride quality would be.
@@ryanfirefighter152 I will say the 2.5 RC lift does ride way better than a standard torsion crank. It's a good little lift for the money but for me you're already halfway there for the price of a 6 inch. The hardest part about the 2.5 lift is doing the diff drop. I will tell you that I don't really believe it does much good all it really doesn't drop the axle it really only tips it forward three quarters of an inch. knowing what I know now if I had a stock S10 again I wouldn't have done the differential drop.

On a scale of 1 to 10 it's probably a 8.5 the non torsion drop lift would be easier in some ways but I didn't really like the way that torsion bars would have to be flared out to the side a little bit! The instructions are kind of vague just got to take your time when you make your cuts don't be in a rush the rear flip isn't too bad!! I took extra time doing mine because it wasn't supposed to fit the crew cab so I wanted to make sure I wasn't going too far past the land of no return LOL!!
Mine is a 2002 I don't see why a 2004 would be any different! I truly believe the reason they don't want you installing it is because the truck is kind of top-heavy being a crew cab! And I don't think they ever really tried it LOL!!

Honestly don't waste your money get the 6-inch. All that 2.5 rough country lift is it's basically a super torsion crank. and it will allow your CV axles to go beyond what they can handle. The amount of work it takes you might as well do the 6 in.
Well actually as long as you don't crank your torsion too much I think you'll be okay. I just know that when I did mine in tight turns when in 4 x 4 I could hear the CV axles popping and trying to bind.
Well I wish I had better news but the only way you would find that is eBay or a salvage yard my friend. Needle in a haystack you're better off doing a solid axle swap.

What do you do when the control arm won't fit in the control arm drop because of the metal shim plate ?

35s don't clear to good with just the 6 inch alone unless you use your stock rims but with no offset 35s will rub the frame a little!
Yes I have a total of 11 inch's of lift now and I have 35s they still rub in the rear LOL 🤣 only when flexing hard

None this lift is pretty much easy! Just take your time and follow the instructions.

This kit says it doesn’t fit the zr2 model, what was the main reason it doesn’t work?

I have a 6-in super lift kit in my garage for a ZR2 that I took off of one a few weeks ago you can find it in my videos.
The rear part of the frame is the same width just the axles 4 in wider

Your exhaust has to be cut and rerouted for the drive shaft as well I'm getting mine done this Saturday so I can go out and play LOL
