I think it's unfair how different is to see someone in VR and being there. sometimes it looks awful when you see it in a video. but feeling it, being there, dude... i always have so much fun playing in VR
I’m new to VR. Just got a PSVR2 last week and No Man’s Sky was my first “oh my god!” moment. PSVR2 tip of the week. Turn the brightness down to 20ish % and it dramatically reduces or even eliminates motion sickness. Has something to do with image persistence
Never heard of that helping with motion sickness but i don't suffer from it anyway. You do kill the HDR by turning it all the way down for sure but to each his own ofcourse
Yeah, i should have clarified that i had more of an issue with Horizon Call of the Mountain and turning the brightness down helped a lot. I didn’t have as much of an issue with No Man’s Sky.
I started playing vr at a time when some windows update had made it completely unplayable. I am a stubborn individual. I was troubleshooting in vr in 5 fps for hours, maybe even over the course of multiple days. when I got out I got motion sick from real life being too smooth. but I don't get motion sick in vr at all, so 10/10 I recommend this strategy to gain your vr legs
Your No Man’s Sky content is legit my favourite of all time. I’ve just gotten back into playing this game 2 days ago and then you drop this. 10/10 experience, love your videos etc. etc.
Good to see you enjoying yourself! I just got back into it and I'm just left in awe at how they haven't given up. They were served the harshest reality at release and didn't back down. My faith in Hello has been restored for the most part lol.
I found a trick to interacting with objects in VR, If you are using left thumbstick to walk. - When you walk up to an object to interact, like your ship or harvested flora, rather than pushing the interact button and raising your right hand to pull or interact, Simply use the interact button to grab, and then the left stick to walk backwards. The interaction is much less finicky, and occurs nearly instantly.
Don't worry, the VR port is shitty and less than 3dof IMO. Your character does not turn your head, you have to manually turn with your controller stick, which makes me motion sick. If you acidentally walk half a meter away from your character your hands are misplaced and your hud is in an awkward spot. Overall it was the worst VR experience I have ever had. Flat screen No man's sky is so much better.
@@tinminator8905 I love VR in No Man's Sky. The trick is to play in seated mode. I like playing other VR games standing, but when you launch NMS, you expect to play for longer periods of time and for me, standing for 3-12 hours (my average session in NMS in VR when I launch it during weekend, so I don't play it that often) wouldn't be possible. Seating while playing this game works perfectly for me. In seated mode you turn your character with a stick anyway and I use snap turn. My computer chair can turn, so I can adjust slightly for the interface and the game is just amazing in VR for me - the scale makes a huge difference. Actually, I can't stand the flat version of the game - I hate it. I tried playing it before I had VR (using gamepass) and everything felt like a mobile game interface and I didn't like controls at all. After using VR for a while, I was looking at some videos with best VR games, and NMS appeared in most of them, so I decided to just buy it on Steam, try it in VR and return it if I didn't like it (I didn't have gamepass at the moment). And well... I immediately felt in love with the VR version. It took some tweaking for graphics options to be nice and performance not to suffer in more demanding areas, but it was well worth it. I also tried playing in flatscreen later to make some proper screenshots of my main base planet, but in flat, even with maxed out graphics settings, it just doesn't look good for me, like at all. In VR it's like magic for me, you feel like you're there, you see the blades of grass moving in a proper scale (on flatscreen it looks really flat and small) and it's just entirely different game. Flying a ship in VR isn't enjoyable, though. I wish they did the controls like in VTOL VR or at least gave us an option to use HOTAS (I love flying in Elite: Dangerous with HOTAS). But exploring planets on foot is amazing and that's what I love in this game. For flying n space I have Elite: Dangerous.
you got me back into vr after i stopped playing it for a year or two, and i have bought quite a few games just based on your takes and enjoyed them, i remember the original no mans sky videos coming out and actually making me go play no mans sky again 2 years back, really proud of you big fella
It's not a loading time though. It's just to give a sense of scale. If everything was a teleport then you'd have the exact same loss of immersion starfield has. And also big difference between loading screens is that you're actually still playing. Is driving on the highway in GTA a loading screen? Don't think so

No Man's Sky has always been peaking. Even though our timeline has been wack, I am happy NMS recovered in our timeline.
I LOVE this game in VR. Got soo many hours logged on it. Sometimes I do space battles. Sometimes I just fly around. Visit bases. Collect cool ships. So fun. I CANT WAIT till I can afford a PSVR2 & PS5 tho...
On pc, NMS doesn’t have all the graphics options in VR mode, you have to first set the graphics lower in non-VR mode first, save the game, exit out, and then go try it in VR.
No worries man, my head didn't snap from whiplash.
That silhouette severed my neck. It is gone, turned to dust.
The hype is real.
Yay he uploaded
Classic habie W, every single upload is appreciated
Can't wait to get back into this game when Quest 3 comes out. Holding off on playing VR until I get that headset. Going to be a big upgrade over my Rift S
its amazing how it runs on psvr2 now, crystal clear... awesome!
This is also on steam vr and is so good!!! I play it every day when I get home and just explore endless space listening to 80-90 pop 😂
The expedition that is going on right now is worth getting into!
