Awesome snook Rich
The oddball you caught was a big mouth sleeper .
It's a type of goby
Tight lines
Hi Bill, I reached the same conclusion: the fish at 10:00 is a Bigmouth sleeper (Gobiomorus dormitator). My reference literature lists it as part of the Sleepers family or Eleotridae, not of the Gobies or Gobiidae family, though.
Rich, great video, als always. Best from Germany, Uli
I live on the Ocean, South Shore Nova Scotia, North of Halifax. I was raised off Vancouver Island, so love the Ocean.
Now widowed, retired and appreciate life on the ocean , fishing is an honourable hobby.
Thanks so much to everyone for watching and for picking up some of the new hats!! Tight Lines FishAholic’s 🤙🏻
Love the hat, hey what part of Florida are you in. Looks Familiar very familiar
He live in stuart fl sandspirit got some of the best fishing
What’s your setup
There are so many reasons to enjoy fishing, and every once in a while we get to catch a sea beast of a fish that puts up a tremendous fight, leaving us with a memory to be cherished and fuel for more fishing adventures.
What a fish, glad I got to watch you catch it…
Well said John! Thanks for Tuning in and commenting!! Tight Lines!
Beast of a snook man!!! Love watching your videos every morning!!!
Ahh....The vicarious life.. Thanks for keeping my spirits up, it's 35 degrees and windy here for a while.
Excellent work and poise navigating that big snook in!! Bravo Brother!!
I thought you were going to dive in and land it with your bare hands !!!! Awesome job !!!
Found myself right back here again for one of my favorite fishing channels
Haha thanks so much for tuning back in
Bruiser snook Rich. Congratulations on your catch! 👏
Looks like you just made an automatic new favorite color shad! 😆
Keep up the great videos. They are surely warming everyone up just by watching them. As welcoming as a hot cup of Joe after an epic frosty morning surf fishing blitz!
Beautiful fish! I was happy to see you get that pig in the net! Great video!
Your hats are the best. Glad they’re back in stock. Just ordered 2.
Really? Thank you so much! I just filled a bunch of orders and drove to the post office to drop them off. Hopefully you'll have your's in a few days!! Tight Lines!
@@FishAholicTV yessir. Been watching your stuff for years. Keep it up
Nice job gittin that slob at the end!!! Beautiful fish n nothin like fishin strange waters n doin good!!
Hi Rich, Good job fishing that monster snook. I watch all your videos.
O he just loved being recognized! Dude’s living the dream and I’m jealous!
DUDE.....that was an AWESOME catch.. Definately one for you memory books that we all dream of in a kayak.
Also one reaason fishin a kayak is so great. Those big ones get worn out and have a harder time getting away...
Fantastic a fight like Sampei !!! Congratulations on a wonderful fish.
Fantastic Rich!!! I guess the big girls are trying to get way up in the backwaters trying to keep warm - only 57 right now in Palm City!
Yeah i guess so. the water was kinda chilly actually. only around 65.
Holy crap what a monster... 2 years ago I lost a similar-sized snook in Rookery Bay and it has haunted me ever since. When I went back to Florida last year I caught lots of snook but none bigger than 27". In less than 2 months I throw the kayak on top of the car and head to SW Florida to try again! It's the one week of the year I look forward to more than any other, you're so lucky to live there!
Im heading down to that area in mid march - any recommendations for for what to throw at em? how is the fishing in march?
@@andrewmilmore920 I'm there in mid-March also! I always go in March, and the fishing is always great ~except~ if there's a cold front. But those are more common in early March than mid and late March. DOA paddletails always work great for me. also Mr. Wifflelure works good too.
@@SSHitMan What color works best? I'm up in new england where white is my favorite, but last time i was in FL i did well with CHicken over pearl with a chartreuse tail.
@@andrewmilmore920 My go-to is a red and gold paddletail, works great for me in murky inshore waters.
Epic!! For you, your biggest snook, for me the biggest I see even on video! Great battle!!
Rich, it has been a real treat watching you fish in the greater St. Lucie/Stuart area, but to have you fishing literally in my backyard was amazing. I'm 2 mins from that ramp and i take my yak or my boat to those waters all the time! I've only had any success on a white DOA paddle tail so no surprise you did as well as you did with your setup. Congratulations on snookosaurus 🤘
Awesome catch! I saw that Snook wake you on the previous cast. I was like there’s a big fish right there!
That was a monster! So sick.
Incredible catches!!! I was screaming "Don't lose him!" when he took you into the brush.. Great video!!
Thanks Joe! haha glad I had you on the edge of your seat! Thanks for tuning in!!
What a battle rich it’s awesome to hear the pure emotion that goes on during your fights
Yeah I really enjoyed to rewatch and edit this footage!!
That was a beast but the fight was absolutely epic.
You captured on film something truly special. Thanks for sharing that and I have been watching a lot of your videos. You always show respect to the fish and give great insight and tips. Much appreciated
Legit living the life. My Mom lives down in Boynton Beach…there are some nice canals by her. Only problem is I need the Yak! Hopefully I can get down there soon and maybe get a charter. Tight lines!!
Great catch man! I thought that Snook was gone, congrats on the new PB!
Now that's a side liner! whoa..
This video is fantastic. I appreciate that you include the casts that came up empty(the edits/ drone views makes even that entertaining to watch), and talk us through ur thought process as u go. A true example of persistence paying off. Keep up the good videos 👍
Thanks Jesse! Really appreciate the comment! So can have an idea of what you like to see out there. Thanks so much for tuning in and tight lines!!!
Man, the drag screaming on that spinning reel is like music! Its 14 degrees in NJ this morning. Obviously I’m jealous, my house is on the market right now, Florida is in my sights.
Well hopefully you can get some ice fishing in if you like that. Thats what Id be doing but its definitely much nicer down here haha. Good luck with selling your house!!
That is an unreal snook. This should be the cover photo for that soft bait packaging.
haha thanks Lee!! That would be cool on the package
comfortable fishing trip🍻🍻🍻
Awesome catch! Yoy did a good job landing him
I seen a couple wrong answers now but that was a bigmouth sleeper 👍
It got real quiet by that bank for a minute 😁 epic catch
Nice job landing that snook, Rich! Honestly, I wrote it off once it made it to the dock.
Hahaha me too. Definitely had way to light of tackle for a fish like that.
Awesome epic. 🎣🎣🐟🐟 me and my son are planning a trip to Florida this year. Hopefully it happens. Snook peacock and clown. Great videos. You are the man.
65 is 75 degrees warmer than where i live currently. Congratulations on your pb snook. Nice job landing it !
Thanks Adam, stay warm up there!!
WOW WOW WOW!!! Wtg Rich you played that beast incredibly,Congrats on the PB...Love your video's Thanks for sharing.
Beast Mode!!! Another great video man. Well deserved. I know you put in countless hours on the water for days like this. Keep doing you bro. People love watching you fish.
You should fish Pensacola when the weather warms up... Pensacola and Nevarre beaches look like the Bahamas.
Awesome fight with that snook👍
rich if that doesn’t get you pumped as a fishermen nothing will such an exciting video and a slob snook just Epic !!! If i could like this video 100 times i would tightlines !!!🤙🏻🔥
Haha thanks Vincent!! Definitely one of my best Snook Kayak Fishing Battles
that was a monster! crazy landing too
Haha yeah I wish I could have showed my heart rate on the screen. I didn't think i was going to land that one.
On the opening scene I thought you had taken a trip to the Amazon, which would epic!
hahaha yeah it is kinda like going to a different place when you get way upriver. Down river its way more built up and residential.
Sneaking up on Snook! Well done.
Thumbs up my friend that is one beautiful fish I must say thanks for the video I really enjoyed it and enjoy them all thanks again I'll catch you on your next one your friend Billy Simmons
Really, really enjoy your channel. Thank you.
I truly subbed and watched your channel because of the hobie outback. You inspired me to level up my fishing by giving me no other choice than choosing a hobie and getting out on the water. After 12 great days this past season fishing in my PA 14 in my local waters... I truly believe in this opinion, that small water craft truly can dial in a fishermen's game. P.S. I've become a collector of your hats.
Hey Chad thanks so much for tuning in and picking up some hats!! Having a small craft really gets you to slow down and see the little differences that attract for that others may over look. I'm glad you've had some success out there!! Thanks again and Tight Lines!!
Strange looking fish was a big mouth sleeper I think. Pretty uncommon.
Definitely is one, just looked it up
I just came across with your channel watching my local youtubers (Virginia Beach, VA). You have got me subbed. Congratulations for your PB catch and also for your nice channel.
Thanks Chaba for tuning in and subscribing!!!
I live in SoFlo myself. I been yak fishing on my buddies boat. That was about 10 years ago. I found your channel and it has made me want to go back out there and get them trophy fish. Love your content, keep up the good work. btw your 7 Mile bridge video was awesome. Loved fishing there, back then. Glad to see they still biting.
Nice man! Happy to post some cool content that can remind you of the good old days! Thanks for tuning in and Tight Lines!
I adore your content! I don’t even fish and yet I haven’t missed a show in over 1 year.
Hahaha thanks so much!!
Lets goooo! That was electric!
Amazing catch of that monster snook. Awesome job. Thanks.
Great video! I wish the “cold” in Virginia was 60 degrees this time of year
I'm just north of you in Ocean City MD, it's been cooooooold!
@@ReelJayB we have snow on the ground right now! Even North Carolina has snow right now. And my family in South Carolina. Can’t escape the cold in any direction anymore! Except Florida
Va has been too cold to pull out the yak for me..
@@scotthowerton9768 I’ve only been out on my big pond this year, but the next warm trend we have I’m going speckled trout fishing
@@noahjohns7954 HAHA tell me about it. Snow here too. You guys have been getting quite a bit!
Duuuuude I commented before I even watched the video. What A BEAST dude!!! 37.5 is my pb snook. 39 brotha is HUUUUGE. Good shit man!!!
Thanks Brian!! Hopefully we both can break 40" this year! Tight Lines!!
Wooww... What a monster... congrats man!!!
Thanks Alexandre!!
Great job ,my brother.. Beautiful beast..that snook.
Awesome vid as always! That fish (if you haven't already found out) I believe was a goby. Very aggressive fish. Anyways congrats on the monster!!🤙🏼
Wow!! Nice one bro that must of been exciting. Im coming down from Maine in 4 weeks cant wait to fish
Thanks Chris!! Hope you catch em up!
The hats are awesome!
Awesome catch, that was a battle. Congrats👊🎣👍
Thanks man!!
That was a big mouth sleeper you caught 😊
Well, your persistence paid off definitely! I would be already giving up much earlier, questioning my methods and lures, even question whether I can fish or not , when there just no bites.
Congrats on an absolute specimen of a snook! Amazing work battling that one, awesome work Rich.
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed. Tight Lines!
-3 here in western Pa yesterday morning. Even to cold for me to go ice fishing. Nice Snook!!! Ordered me other new hat . Thanks for sharing your videos!!
That was definitely epic!!
Man, thanks for going to FL year after year. The fishing here is super hard January and February so this helps me get through till March every year! Been a 3 year sub now.
Nice Job bro, congratz on your new Pb🔥💪🏼
Woww Amazing fishing my brother..you are the best fishing master. Goodluck! Salam satu hobi catching fish 👍👍
Hi Rich! I am going to the keys for the months of February and March and was wondering if you are going to go down there at any time. It would be a dream come true to meet you and possibly go out on a charter with you? I also make some of my own grubs for fishing, mainly freshwater but I have used them to catch snapper and sea trout.
Epic job landing that snook 💪🏻
you be the man Rich nice job great video
Thanks man!!
Massive congrats on hooking fighting and landing that snook. Well done dude.
Thanks Robert!!
Huge! That’s awesome
That fish is called a big mouth sleeper. pretty rare fish to catch and dont get very big. Nice Snook too
Holy chit. That was a huge Snook! Awesome catch!
Killer snook great fight
Congrats on the snook!
Nice work brotha man, definitely worth the work put in to get a forty incher.. Great vid .. Thanks for sharing.
Epic Snook man!!!!! You worked hard for that one, that’s y I’m a fan!!!!!!!
That’s a big mouth sleeper!! Caught one in broward county
Nice angling job on that snook. What a beast.
Damn man that was freeking epic
Man that's a nice snook! I live in Port St Lucie and have seen a few that size but never hooked or caught one. I totally agree with you about the kayak, you may not have landed that one with a larger boat. Sometimes when I fish the keys in my yak I sit sideways and hang my feet in the water. After watching your bullshark encounter I'm not doing that anymore. The kayak is an adventure every time, I have even scuba dived off mine.
I use to do the same thing till that bullshark vid...feet and hands in the kayak. I am thinking about hitting up the bridge it looked like a lot of fun.
Great catch bud
9:50... we call them "Guabina" here in Puerto Rico. Hoplias malabaricus, also known as the wolf fish, tiger fish, guabine or trahira, is a predatory Central and South American freshwater ray-finned fish of the characiform family
Nice Snook! Keep up the great vids!
Thanks Noel!! I'll try my best!!
Crazy catch bro!
Great catch awesome fight
i love tis guys videos
Big snook brother, congrats 👏👏👏.,
Thanks Lou!! Hopefully i can keep grinding and catch another!!
The anxiety watching you land that fish! Doesn’t matter how it gets in the boat. As long as it does! Lol
Many monster snook up in that section of the river, even ALL the way to the spillway as far back as you can go. Don’t want to type it here. I’ve hooked one that looked close to 50 inches on a giant glide bait. Good stuff buddy, congrats.
Snookzilla👍 Way to muscle 💪it in
Awesome snook! That one looked like a bigmouth sleeper! Very cool catch!
Very nice snook !!!!!
