      ROFL my thoughts exactly. Some powertool maker would propably lend their battery powered powertools for free just to get visibility.

    How would wall mounting this as opposed to ceiling mounting it affect range?

    Wait. That’s what that little right angled piece of metal is for?? I always lightly pull then turn. Never knew that hole and stick had a purpose.

    We are ready for the U7 Enterprise!

    • @URackADisciprine
      @URackADisciprine 8 месяцев назад

      Yeh, be ready for some more lame 2x2 MIMO like this weak U7 Pro (should be 4x4 min or up to 8x8 now). And a hefty price tag to boot still with 2.5Gbe probably.

    • @IFlipRizla
      @IFlipRizla 7 месяцев назад

      Saw a tear down post and the chip inside supports 4x4 MIMO so not sure why it’s not an available option…

    • @URackADisciprine
      @URackADisciprine 7 месяцев назад

      @@IFlipRizla It's quite common to manufacture products with all or many of the same features and disable some to create a tiered product stack. Seems counterintuitive, but it is less expensive nonetheless. Just another way for Ubiquiti to mess over customers. Unless there will be no more "Lite" version, this should have been the U7 Lite at best. Even then, it is still a step back from the U6 Lite in terms of a generational aspect.

    I got the U7 Pro and will be testing in an upcoming video against the U6 Enterprise, when will the U7 Enterprise be available and I'd love to see faster than 2.5GbE PoE for the link.

    Are they the same physical size as the U6LR? Same mounting plate, for easy upgrades? Hopefully future models too?

    Watched the whole thing and still didn’t find out what metal plate d is for, also I don’t think the term is in-wall, so much as it should just be called wall mounted or on-wall, your not mounting the AP inside the wall. 5:23

      I believe that plate is to be used when mounting to cement or masonry. I recall reading about it in the guide while I set mine up.

      I figured it would be useful if you had some very weak material to mount to it would distribute the forces away from the four little bolts on the other side and make the whole thing a lot more sturdy

    I cringe at the 4 holes. Only 1 hole is needed to fit it securely to a stud/concrete.
    Heck my 50 inch TV only requires 2 holes.

    Is this a new standars jn wifi? I feel like i just upgraded

    • @StephenSmith304
      @StephenSmith304 8 месяцев назад +2

      It is, wifi 6 came to unifi in 2021 and that's how long I've been using it. Wifi 7 routers and laptop M.2 upgrade chips are also out now, which is how I've upgraded my laptops to wifi 7 already (search Intel BE200 for those). If you upgrade late then you risk upgrading right before the next version comes out, so I keep track of the release cycle and skip upgrading if the current gen has been out for a while, that way I'm usually upgrading soon after new gear comes out.
