      Lol I went for the first time in March solo and I also binged this channel. If you need a green space break, I took pics with the guards on horses and walked through the archway. Across from the pebble area is at James Park and there's a place called duck Island! So nice and so many birds. The path leads to Buckingham Palace. It's parallel to the Mall but in a meandering way

    The Parkland Walk is worth doing. It’s the longest linear nature reserve in London (4km). It goes from near Finsbury Park tube station to near Highgate station, and then on to Alexandra Palace. It follows an old railway line, and you pass through several abandoned stations on the way.

    One place I will always rant and rave about because it's mostly free is my favourite of the South Kensington museums, that is the Victoria and Albert museum. I can some times spend multiple days there because it is that good. And even during the high season you can still find amazingly quiet parts of it. And if you decide to get a membership there I recommend it since the paid for exhibitions are about £15-£25 a go. So say you do four exhibitions that membership fee has paid for itself and then some.

    Hey there - do US citizens currently need anything other than a passport in good standing to visit London for a week? From my research, it appears they only need a passport but just making sure I'm not missing anything. The language surrounding ETAs is very confusing, even on the official UK government websites.

    • @camselent6667
      @camselent6667 9 месяцев назад +2

      Nope! As long as your passport isn't going to expire within 6 months and you're staying for that short of time, it shouldn't be an issue.

    • @kellyasims
      @kellyasims 9 месяцев назад +3

      @@camselent6667I have read that the UK does not follow the 6 month rule. Your passport only has to be valid for the duration of your stay.

    I'm a Londoner who has lived overseas for 20 years and is coming for a holiday in January! I just watched your short clip on not buying an Oyster card. How do you use the contact less debit/ credit card? Do you just go to the barriers and push the card again the button? How does it know what zones you want to go to or does it charge you once the day is over? Is this the best way if you are getting on and off tubes and buses etc. you just scan your debit card each time? Will a Wise card work the same? I am fully intending to make my family walk everywhere though haha.

    • @stephen129
      @stephen129 9 месяцев назад +1

      Tap in to enter the station, tap out to leave the destination station. Tap to get one the bus, don't need to tap out.

    Question, Do many places take Google tap pay? Our debit card has high foreign transaction fees and I though about putting money into my Google pay account if possible before I left to have to use in London. So gladni fou d this channel, thanks for the amazing tips

      I use Currensea. It’s a debit card that I use in any country. It pays in local currency then takes the money out of your bank in your own currency - at a lower business exchange rate than the usual banking rate. It’s brilliant.
