Today we check out the Durgod Hades 68 which is an aluminium 65%, with RGB backlighting. But does it hit the mark? Especially with the 65% game heating up with the Ducky One 2 SF.

Can you do a video on keycaps? They always seem fairly neglected, and I would like to know how different plastics and thicknesses affect things like sound and feel. I'm looking for keycaps to compliment my coolermaster masterkeys with brown switches, but I'm not sure what to get or what sound I want from the keycaps.
As soon as TaeKeyboards does a review on a keyboard their sales go up for sure..😂😏
same as badseedtech to other reviewers lol
Anyone else use 65%?
It's my fave layout, close 2nd is 75%
magicforce68 is also a 65%? if so, then count me in
Using my Hades 68 right now! Spot-on review... Those caps had to go, but I'm loving a tiny board with dedicated nav keys.
nope, good old 104 keys for me 😋
75% for me
You should re-review this keyboard! There's been a updated version which has PBT keycaps and a whole new range of switches! When I've been using it it felt a lot better than the old version.
Finally budget brands breaching into the Alu case market.
"budget" NANI!?
@@M4TTYN Yes, certainly very budget compared to other boards on the market
@@tyler94302 he should've used the word compared, this boards should not be this expensive. It's just plastic
Tarandeep Sidhu aluminum isn’t plastic Lmfaaoo
@@allynfps 120$ is not a budget keyboard either.
Nice love that it’s classy with no visible branding! I’ll wait for a hotswap TKL version like this...
Budget? This thing is 120 damn bucks.
A cheap custom is like 300 so thats pretty good actually
still better then Razer to main brands *imo* to when it comes to design to look to price i know are around that rang but fucking Razer.... wtf!
This board falls into a weird category... for lack of better words I've been calling it "budget-beefy" - because while it ain't cheap, it costs way less than anything that compares to it in-kind... kinda like a Corvette.
I ended up buying this board! I went with gateron reds personally, which went for $99 and I was more than happy with the product. My main gripe ( and really it's no surprise) is that the keycaps are trash. I plan to replace them with thick pbt keycaps. Lol
Nice!
ive been waiting for this board to drop since u sneak peeked it at computex. Ordered one with the gateron silent browns, amazon same day shipping so we will see later today lmao.
edit: the alu plate seems much quieter than steel, sounds promising when you did the pen test. I think with a much thicker set of abs keycaps this board will sound great for almost no work.
"Budget 68% keyboard"
100$
Dude, buy a redragon kumara
I mean, it’s wireless.
@@onepumpman6209 I have a wireless 60ish% mech keyboard with brown switches for 40 bucks. I don't think the 100 dollar price is justified for being wireless and aluminum. RK61, by the way.
One Pump Man rk61 or gk 61 are cheap and wireless
@@xmute711 wireless sux
Or redddagon kalu
Do you know of any 65% keyboard that isn't overly expensive and has either kailh box whites or pinks, or is at least hotswappable? This one is decent, but I'd like to see if there are other options too.
At what point in weight can you start calling a keyboard a weapon?.
I bought this keyboard a few days ago, and my thoughts are pretty much identical to Tae's - though I'm pretty sure the ping on his example is coming from the Cherry silent switches themselves.* After using it for a few days, I think this is one of the best value keyboards I've ever purchased, alongside my Anne Pro 2 and good old $26 EasterntimesTech i-500. Kind of like the ETT, it fills this until recently under-served niche of "budget-beefy" - this thing is unpolished, but I also get the impression that while most of my other keyboards will be lost to the sands of time, this one will be part of the archaeological record for some legit amount of geologic time. Also, given that I can remap the base layer with ease, this board has the perfect space-saving layout for my work and home.
The caps are in fact garbage, but at least on this version, I treat them as a sort of bare minimum to tide you over until you put "your" set on. Lucky me, I happened to have some GMK in the closet with the right shift and nav keys... Anyway. Something else that makes this keyboard a cut-above is the software. Some have complained that it's clunky, and they aren't wrong - but once you acclimate to its quirks, it's pretty powerful and convenient. Within a few minutes I had a custom profile that matched my keys.
See how long this is? I love typing on this thing...
*Mine doesn't have hardly any ping, but it does have quite a bit of crunch - and that's because mine has Gateron silent browns. I have another board, a KBParadise V80 with Cherry silent blacks - it has a thick steel plate and the rest is plastic, and it's a bit pingy. When I first got my Massdrop CTRL with Halo Trues, it was massively pingy - and I'd read reviews that it was a pingy board, to put foam in, etc... but I noticed that it wasn't so pingy when I used other switches and realized it was all down to the springs in the switches. Even just using a different spring significantly reduced the ping - and now that I'm using nylon housings and lubed springs, there is zero ping - empty hollow metal case and all.
idk man, him tapping the plate itself displays that it is in fact the board. that thing pinged like crazy, and its just barely grazing KBDfans kit tier pricing
Nice video, anyone knows where I can buy an aluminium mechanical keyboard with the ISO - SP (spanish)- LA(latin america) layout?
Does the PCB have standard mounting points?
If anyone is still wondering it does have standard mounting points but the caps lock LED's stick out of the pcb so it won't fit a tofu case.
How’s the rgb compared to the ducky? I have an Anne pro 2 and the rgb is low key dim. I would also love a 65%, and in general what’s the better choice. Ducky one 2 sf or this
Not sure about the Ducky. I had an AP2 and I have this Hades now. Hades is a good deal brighter. Colors are very nice but it isn't like blindingly bright. I would say it is as bright as you would want. Any more would be excessive.
2:45 cherry silent red ASMR
Thanks! Just got ASMR reading your comment when I was listening around your tagged time while some wind was blowing on my head from the window. I guess just reading ASMR acts as a kind of trigger now!
@@MichaelMuryn your dream video: ASMR but it's just a person saying "ASMR"
My experience: I bought the Hades68 directly from the HK Gaming website, in 2 hours a whole column of keys stopped working. The RGB stopped working completely and the space bar did too. For almost 1 month I have been waiting for an answer to the emails I have sent, both to the support of Durgod and HK Gaming. Truly the worst technology buying experience I have had by far. I don't recommend HK Gaming or Durgod to even my worst enemy. Maybe someone will use this experience.
The ping is really bad. Really wanted to like this board 😞
what do you mean under ping?
What PBT keycap sets would fit this?
My Hades board doesn't have any machining marks or an indentation for a dip switch. You must have got an early batch since it doesn't look like they even sell Silent Reds on Amazon.
One question ..Whatever i change in ligtihing setting,or make a custom.It doesn t do,it always stays in default light mode.Even if I change profiles ( Fn2 + Home buton) ? Any help,anyone?
Would the PCB fit into a TADA68 high profile aluminum case?
Love that layout. Do you know any keyboard with exact same layout? This one has a prohibitive price for Brazil shipping.
3:50 neighbor's are like "what is that banging?!"
how loud are your speakers?
@@f3neral I was implying the reviewer's neighbors and I guess banging isn't right more like tapping
edit: interesting your gif avatar, though it only plays in the drop down desktop notifications hmm
Is there any keyboard that has that white/gray color of the TADA and RGB lights while wireless?
Probably not stock right now, but there are some PCB kits on KBDfans that might facilitate such a build.
@@dhoffnun I really love the TADA68 look and I would love to have a wireless keyboard, but I really feel the need of a backlight, doesn't even need to be RGB.
can you buy pbt keycap for this keyboard anywhere ?
kj 187 yea on taihao keycaps or kbrepublic
If only this had PBT caps.
In my opinion, this is the best 65 percent even if it wasn’t budget.
Once you've typed on thicker keycaps, going back to thin is very difficult.
This has been true on *all* the dozens of keyboards I've gotten to try... except one. I have a Majestouch with Cherry browns and a chonky SA set, which is beautiful - but honestly the translucent-thin stock Filco caps sound and feel so much better on that particular combination of switch, plate, case, etc... It's been confusing me for years - ha! Maybe it's the light weighting and mild tactility of the browns is less muted by the thin, light caps - the same ones sound awful on anything clicky, for example.
this or the akko 3068?
If the firmware is good, and they keep the branding minimal, they are a winner.
Not all firmware is created equal.
Press 3 keys at exactly the same time. Let me know if all three keys repeat, or only one ;)
Which outcome is better?
@@bustanut8315 All three registering at the same time is the hardest to implement and shows the most attention to detail. It will allow for rapid fire entry. ruclips.net/video/N2dNK-mIWkQ/видео.html
So I bought this back in Feb 2020 with Gateron red, and it's very good quality, but I would not buy it again because it makes my pinky feel sore all the time. I have used the Streak 65 between this back and forth because I like the low profile and speed switches. My next switch is going to be yellows to avoid pinky fatigue when using the ctrl button for long periods of time.
i was thinking of getting another 60% keybopard but now i'v seen this im know the keyboard im getting
Kinda disappointing. For that price you can get stuff from vortex, and high end boards from Leopold and iKBC. Not to mention the TADA68.
I was expecting durgod to provide an aluminium board with a more budget price but at this price point it seems like it gets outclassed by many other boards.
You can get a *plastic* Tada68 for this price, but their plastic case is trash. The Tada really isn't worth using unless you get the aluminum case, which is significantly more expensive.
Edit: Wait, this is aluminum, nevermind.
And for a prebuilt keyboard this has a surprisingly large number of switch options. A lot more than some of the bigger brands. I really don't think it's a bad deal.
Is there a white version? If not I’m out
Edit: I’ve done research..there is in fact a white one..but the shipping is 40 dollars....I’m out
I would hella buy that case, but I prefer hotswap PCBs because my indecisive ass needs to swap out switches once every other week. currently just cycling through cherry and kailh box browns right now, I'm planning on building a higher budget board with holy pandas or zealios v2, though.
Way overpriced. If you are willing to pay 100$ + for a keyboard, just go for the ducky one mini, or anne pro. And even the Royal Kludge 61 is pretty decent and it's 60% , wireless bluetooth, 65$ only. If you want the best wired budget keyboard that is TKL, check the Tecware phantom 87, insane keyboard with great lighting effects.
I wanted to silent red. But was too much. So i got the gateron red
Why the fuck is price of shipping so high??? Its almost the same price as keyboard...
You really sounds like 3B1B guy
lol
Dude look what you did, hk gaming galaxy 75. Review?
that high profile keyboard is so dam ugly..... looks like something out of a kids tv show.
I have pbt keycaps with mine. ISO
Beat value how it ranges from 100 to like 130 I wouls buy a ducky
Sir can i have a link for your keebs stand? The one on your thumbnail
The Amazon listing states it uses Double Shot PBT keycaps, at least for the Kalih Box Whites and Black Case..........so......what's going on there???
Early sample?
Different Keycaps on different models?
Or,
Misleading marketing?
I would appreciate a reply and clarification on this issue as it is concerning if they a lying in thier marketing.
why do you say the Gateron and box reds have the "edge" on Cherry Reds? Just curious
Cherry's switches are actually very overrated compared to other switches on the market, with popular "clone" switches like Kalih Box and Gateron switches actually being a lot nicer to type on for their respective color, giving it the "edge" over Cherry MX switches.
does anyone know any hotswap pcb that can fit the case?
my favorite layout.. but i have so many tada's and got the novelkeys 65% board comming.. otherwise this would be a great board. .only problem is that it doesn't have QMK support just because i don't like other software on my computer..
I said it last time, but Durgod really seems to want to be taken seriously as a mainstream keyboard brand: namely by having crappy UV-coated lasered keycaps. Seriously, I don't see at all why these keycaps should still exist or come stock with mainstream keyboards these days. I would rather have not-as-good-looking stenciled font on doubleshot legends that'll never wear off, over a nicer font that'll turn into a nondescript blob in a few months.
tbh the drevo seer pro is the exact same thing
Thank you for the review, very detailed and honest. I already bought this keyboard at much lower price than RRP and I will see how I like it :)
Not sure if you will see this but I had the same keyboard ping with the Cherry MX Silent Reds, even from just tapping the side of the board the whole thing would resonate. I brought the Gateron Red version and it doesn't have this issue at all?
How do you feel this stacks up versus the akko 3068? Been keen on a budget 65%, but can't make up my mind!
I have the Akko 3068 and love it but this is my first mech so I don’t have much of a comparison
Honestly they're both great and I don't think you can go wrong between them - but each has an edge in certain ways. Both are well made, but the Durgod is a nearly solid bar of aluminum - and while the Akko is plastic, it also has Bluetooth (as in right now, not in some future revision). The H.68 comes with trash caps, while the 3068 comes with legit thicc PBT. Physically the layouts are the same, but the default mapping is different. The Durgod has lots more switch options and RGB, but the Akko has no lighting (but does support single color LEDs if you want to install them). Both have great stabs out of the box (rare!), so that's awesome. The Durgod has deeper customizing when it comes to remapping, macros, and function layers. The Akko costs ~$30-40 less than the Durgod, so honestly I think they're both a fantastic value. If you need bluetooth, want great keys out of the box, or are on a budget, get the Akko - if you want more layers, switch options, macros, and/or a beefy case out of the box, get the Durgod.
Both great. They offer different features. Akko has Bluetooth, but the Hades has RGB backlighting, an aluminium case, and better keyswitch options.
where did you get the version with cherry mx silent red swtiches? Can't find it anywhere - just with normal red switches.
@@SwiftCookie eh, what? :D What does your answer tell me?
Are you able to just buy those key caps
65% black RGB key caps seems basic but kind of hard to find
could you just take it apart and replace the key switches for the future (of course with a soldering iron)?
laser etched keycaps are just so cringe.
0:06 "They had some pretty interesting stuff" yes indeeed😏
@Wait Taiwanese you moron. "Computex" is a Computer expo held annually in Taipei, Taiwan.
what keyboard is at 4:17 with yellow switches?
do you know if they will come out with a hot swap mode
I saw that they were going to release one in september, but they haven't yet. So I'm not sure. I know the corona has messed with most of this industry since theyre mostly in china, unfortunate since I want to wait for the hot swap version since it seems obviously better
Just started building my first pc, got an rgb mouse pad and a Logitech pro wireless, need a keyboard. Have a feeling this ones meant for me 😂
Dose anybody know how to push F7 or and F keys
I really like this keyboard size
eh i'd get a motospeed or DREVO or something a bit cheaper to the popular Anne Pro2 to get a GH60 DIY kit but great video as usual man
I was thinking the dipswitch was originally planned for fn key placement and RGB, but they ended up implementing it by software.
What you said about the FN key not being able to remap, that's not true. You can remap every key, even the FN keys.
Anne Pro keycaps @5:30?
Agree with you about the profile height. It makes the keycaps look short, like pants that end above the socks.
Oddly accurate
So does it make sense to replace the caps with an SA set? I'd like to try SA but I'm afraid of wrist pain
Just got the board. You were right about the ping. Really sturdy keyboard but the ping is very noticeable late at night
I wish they swapped the Home and Delete keys. So much better having the delete key next to the backspace key.
I expect more competition going forward because of the growth and enthusiasm of mechanical keyboards. For myself, I would prefer better key caps but I can certainly see the value of this keyboard. Nice review!
Damping not dampening. Unless that pad is designed to be soaked in water.
So a thicc keycaps is the way to go with silent switches?
thicc is usually better. Sometimes thin can be nice, like with clickies. And of course, it's personal preference.
@@TaeKeyboards good to know, thx for the advice(:
Just got the PBT version WO WOW WOW with Box Jade Switches !!!!!!
These kinds of keyboards are kind of a deal breaker for me. i live for the arrow keys as they function as my to go to RUclips control. These have arrow keys so i think i might snag it if the price is reasonable.
Edit: Just found out that the price of this keyboard is literally 1/8 of the price of my PC.
Weird flex but ok
I am looking for a great 65% keyboard that is silent - please help me find one 😁
But on the official website there is no such model ... Hmmm
Ah yes, the infamous keycaps that indirectly ruined a lot of people's expensive keysets.

Can’t wait for it to come out on Mwave looks great atm I’m going for a tecware phantom!!
Durgod Hades or Anne Pro 2?
Half of your mentioned cons are due to your key switches. It feels different with browns or blues
Except not really

Hmm. So I remember from Computex that the 70% version had a lightbar and slightly different underside design. I guess the 65/60% won't get the rgb lightbar. A bit dissapointing.

You can buy that hyper x double shot PBT from Amazon! It’s the pudding caps. Only 17 bucks and you can use the function row (1 and 2) for the function buttons on the bottom right of this board. They are double shot PBT, thicker then the stock and only 17 bucks for 104 keys so maybe find a key for everyone you need on this board in that kit. Only prob is you may not like the pudding caps.
Which keyboard 65% do you consider to be the best?
It's Ajazz AK33 replika, 40$ on AliExpress
No its not, take an eye into your hand and look
Cant wait for the 60% review
Fabixz 65% is honestly way better. The fact that it comes with some important features without adding a lot of size is good. And it doesn’t add that much length.
I got a durgod but it came with nonworking key 'x'
Anyone know the name of the key caps at 6:04?
Drevo Calibur V2 with Cherry MX Switches is a more better option since it cost only $65
Cherry MX are not always the best, and of course, that statement is also subjective because each switch has a unique feel, but, the idea that Cherry MX are always the best isn't 100% true anymore.
Personally I'd like to see a 65% or 75% keyboard with programability without the need for any software, so then its Operating System free, you can use it anywhere and the macros you create and many function layers you create work no matter where you go.
More so a 75% over 65%, this keyboard looks to be a solid option though, I may have to get myself one. I just wish i could get it in white, guess I'll just have to paint it......
@@longnamedude3947 Cherry MX being the best has never been true. Just look at vintage switches and you'll realise that Cherry has always been meh. The only reason they were popular was that most mechanical switch manufacturers ceased making them with how cheap rubber domes were.
@@Amusia727 That's sort of what I was trying to say, but I didn't do a very good job of indicating that in my reply, so apologies about that.
And ALPS or Buckling Spring are far more superior, although more expensive, and much harder to find.
Kailh do some nice Box Mechanical Switches which seem to be pretty good.
But finding any reasonable quantity of these switches at this point is really difficult because they made so few of them, or trying to find good modern switches if difficult because you don't hear about them or see them....
@@longnamedude3947 Actually, they're pretty cheap on eBay. Although this really depends on the switch type. Model Ms can be had for fair pricings and Dell AT101W/102Ws are cheap as heck (I got one for £18) and have Alps SKCM Blacks (can be linear or clicky modded pretty easily, although it's time consuming). Agree with you on the second part. Most people only know about Cherry and maybe Outemu from knockoff keyboards. Maybe the Model M, Gateron and Kailh (main switches) if you're lucky. Although they immediately dismiss the Model M as being too expensive.
Can anyone tell me what the clickiest, heaviest blue type switch available is?
